We had the BOB Revolution for about 10 months but sold it and bought the 2007 Bumbleride Indie in spring 2008. Both strollers have their strengths and weaknesses. The BOB seems really well made, it was extremely easy to assemble out of the the box, and overall felt very solid on smooth or bumpy ground. It also had a huge canopy and a cleverly designed jogging wrist strap that according to the manufacturer, would keep the stroller upright even if you fell splat on your face. Never had the opportunity to test that claim out though. As for the weaknesses, there weren't many - it was a bit tippy when the car seat was attached (reasonable), the reclining mechanism took both hands, it doesn't recline very much, the handlbar was not adjustable (tough for me b/c I'm short), and but the kicker - our son hated it. He would start crying as soon as we placed him near it. We tried for 10 months to get him to like it - bought all the accessories, padded it up - no success. Never did figure out why he didn't like it - I think he just couldn't see much because the sides are really deep, and there's also no back support, just the canvas backing, so his back was always hunched.
br /
br /Onto the Indie. It has a lot of features but overall it doesn't feel very sturdy. It creaks and squeaks. Ours came broken out of the box (stuck handlebar) and was a pain to put together - it's not hard, but which parent wants to spend more than 5 min. putting anything together? I actually didn't put it together right apparently and on our first test drive the wheels kept falling off the stroller! I called Cust. Serv and they talked me through it.
br /
br /Cust. Serv. also sent me a new frame because the stuck handlebar was not fixable. So, after putting the darn thing together again (this time it was even more of a pain because I had to strip the fabric off the old one and stick it on the new one), everything works and we're actually quite happy.
br /
br /The best things about the bumbleride indie - a) LIGHT, b) adjustable foot rest, c) giant, easily accessible basket, d) comes with a foot muff, bumper bar, car seat adapter, d) adjustable handlbar, e) pretty good sized canopy, f) reasonably priced for what you get. What I don't like is that there's nowhere to for our son to lean his head, and he can pull the canopy up and down as he pleases. I also find it cumbersome to fold, but it's pretty compact once it's folded up (there are straps that keep it folded, and a carrying handle too).
br /
br /The Indie is less tippy than the BOB, probably because the back two wheels are wider apart. It doesn't roll as smoothly as the BOB (but the BOB had two 16'' wheels in the back where the Indie has two 12'' wheels in the back), but it seems more comfy. If you're going to use the stroller strictly for jogging (trail or road), I'd get the BOB. But, if you're going to use it for everyday outings, I'd probably get the Indie. The Indie does fine for slow or medium speed jogging even with the front wheel unlocked; I've not used it for serious race training. I didn't like the BOB for jogging but only because the handlebar was too high for me, and you really notice that when you're jogging.
br /
br /I've given the Indie 4 stars - probably would have given 3.5 if that was an option. I'd give it a 2 for quality but a 5 for the bells and whistles and weight. I think if I were to do it all over again, I'd probably get a travel system, a bike trailer/stroller, and an umbrella stroller - but not the BOB or Indie. Cheers.
LOVE this stroller!

We purchased the Bumbleride Indie last December before the birth of our baby, and it was definitely one of the best baby purchases we made. We did extensive research on strollers, going into multiple stores and test driving all the offerings. We were looking for a stroller that had the smooth ride and modern design of something like the Bugaboo, but without the price tag. In my opinion, the Bumbleride Indie represents the best value for your dollar in strollers. This thing is a wonder!
br /
br /During the first several months of our baby's life we used the Indie with the Graco Snugride car seat attached to it. It's really easy to attach the car seat bar and strap the seat to the stroller. When he was big enough, we put him in the stroller without the car seat. I take my son on a walk every day in our urban neighborhood, over rough sidewalks, curbs and exposed tree roots. The Indie sails over these things. The inflatable tires provide such a smooth ride. I go walking with a friend who has an Orbit, and the Orbit is forever catching on uneven sidewalk while my Indie has no trouble. When I pop into the local coffee shop, I can navigate the stroller easily with one hand while opening doors. It's extremely maneuverable. The cup holder is fantastic and allows me to take my coffee to go. I also take the Indie to the local market and there's plenty of room for my groceries underneath the seat. Another excellent feature is the sun cover, which extends very far forward and even unzips to provide an extra range of protection if you need it.
br /
br /Folding and transporting this stroller is easy. The Indie only weighs 20 lbs., which was one of the big selling points for us. It is a cinch to fold down and lift into the trunk of a car. We have a hybrid with a smallish trunk, and the Indie fits in there just fine. We've taken this stroller just about everywhere and love how easy it is to transport.
br /
br /Not only does this stroller perform beyond my expectations, but it looks fantastic. I get stopped constantly on the street by people who want to know about this stroller. It's definitely stylish.
br /
br /Oh, and if you ever have questions about your Indie, I've found Bumbleride's customer service to be amazingly helpful. I've called them twice-- once because I accidentally pulled out one of the grommets on the seat fabric. Once because I had a question about whether I could and should grease the wheels. Both times my calls were answered by an actual person within moments and my questions answered politely and helpfully. In the first case, Bumbleride sent me new fabric for the seat immediately, FOR FREE and overnight, even though it had really been my fault in pulling out the grommet. Rarely have I encountered customer service as wonderful as this. So, I cannot recommend this stroller and this brand highly enough. We are so pleased with our purchase.

I am so shocked that not all these reviews aren't 5 stars. We love this stroller. My baby is now 9 months old and we have been using it since day one. Our family is very active with running and hiking and I am very impressed with this stroller.
br /
br /For light jogging purposes (3-5 miles is all I do) on the street and trail it is great. The rain flap works great, we never used the infant car seat attachment (we "babywear" a lot, so the car seat stayed in car). I will admit the directions to put it together weren't that easy to follow, but customer service with Bumble Ride is very friendly. The canopy works well and covers a lot, sometimes the sun is just in the wrong spot to cover completely.
br /
br /I walk to the grocery store a lot too. I can fit a large grocery bag in the base and a six pack of beer.
br /
br /And most important my baby loves it. He loves the pattern on the inside (we have the red stroller), he just chills and almost always falls asleep.

Bumbleride offers a very stylish, great concept with this stroller. After months of research on "urban" strollers, we purchased a Bumbleride Indie. Bumbleride has AMAZING customer service - and was exteremly helpful during our first month with this product. This stroller looks great but has some issues with quality and functionality. The cup holder attachment is not secure and I would never put a liquid that close to my child, not practical. The seat recline seems to be a little on the unstable side, we have a larger 6 month old (19 lbs) and already have issues reclining easily with that weight in the stroller. The mechanics of the recline seem to be poorly constructed. The biggest issue we have with this stroller is the canopy - if you want to keep it in one position (upright) it seems to stay most of the time. Once you move the canopy forward or backward to accommodate the sun's location or to see your child, the entire canopy shifts/slips and does not stay in place. After many troubleshooting emails and shipments of new parts, we unfortunately needed to move on from the Indie and find a more solid, better constructed urban stroller. Customer Service at Bumbleride gets 5+ stars, quality of product much lower.

Great stroller! Very lightweight, great for newborn and handles smoothly. Storage is better than our travel system stroller and cup holder can hold a variety of water bottle sizes. We bought this because it fit our Chicco Keyfit 30 car seat and has been easy to use with the car seat. I am not a serious runner, but use it daily for walking/jogging short distances and it has thus far held up extremely well- the option to lock the front wheel has been great. I also loved the extras that came with the stroller- foot muff, tire pump, etc. The biggest drawback is the folding mechanism- extremely confusing. The owner's guide does a poor job of explaining how to fold it up. After logging on the the Bumbleride website and watching the video on how to fold this stroller up, we were finally able to fold it. It takes some practice and the handlebar levers are in an awkward. Once you learn how to manipulate the folding mechanism it is easy- it just takes a few tries. The Indie folds up compactly and back wheels remove- a plus when packing this stroller in a car. I would highly recommend this stroller to friends.

My husband and I enjoy the outdoors and needed a light weight stroller that we could easily maneuver with one hand on the bumpy terrain (broken sidewalks and gravel, rooty trails) as well as accommodate top rated car seats. We also wanted a stroller that was lightweight and folded up small. The Bumbleride Indie met all these criteria and more. The stroller is very easy to maneuver, weighs only 20 lbs, fits easily into the trunk of my husband's car, and accommodates as well as coordinates with our Chicco Key Fit 30 car seat.
br /
br /When compared to the other all-terrain strollers we were impressed with how many features were included in the Indie that the other strollers charged extra for, such as: foot muff, cup holder, large storage basket, tire pump, etc. While my girlfriends are pushing their pricey, high-end strollers, wearing diaper-bag backpacks (because their storage baskets are tiny), manipulating their water bottles (no cup holder) while maneuvering the front tires over and around obstacles (small, non-inflated front tires), we are cruising along effortlessly anywhere we go.
br /
br /We also loved the added features the Indie offered: a lockable front wheel so I can jog with it (disclaimer, I am not a serious jogger, more of the speed-walker/jog type); three large inflated wheels, two of which have mini-shocks for a very smooth ride; seat that reclines almost completely flat so we could use it as a bassinet when our son was younger; large, adjustable canopy; one-step foot break/release; adjustable handlebar that accommodates my height and my husbands; stroller lock so that it doesn't unfold when you pick it up; and fabric that is totally washable and can be replaced with the newest fashions and color for the next baby.
br /
br /To be fair, the Indie has one draw-back, the stroller takes some practice to fold-up--you have to disengage the handlebar and then pull on a lever behind the seat to fold it down. However, both my husband and I can now do this in a matter of seconds. Tip: After you disengage the handlebars, step on the break while releasing the backrest lever and pulling the lever towards you and to the ground--it collapses right up.
br /
br /I would highly recommend this stroller to those parents who describe themselves as the fashionable, outdoors types.
Indie vs Rocket

The Bumbleride Indie is a 2007 upgrade to the Bumbleride Rocket (which is apparently being discontinued). Unfortunately for those who liked many of the design features of the Rocket, the Indie includes many "downgrades" from the Rocket.
br /
br /After surveying a lot of strollers, we really liked the Rocket for a variety of features. It had an elegant design, was spacious, quite easy to fold down and the reclined seat seemed quite comfortable for the baby. Since Indie was being released at about the same time, we talked to bumbleride and were told that if anything, the Indie was more compact and easy to steer - while retaining many of the features of the Rocket that we'd liked. Wrong !!
br /
br /The biggest dissappointment we had with the Indie was the recline of the seat. While the Rocket goes down completely flat, the Indie at its most reclined position still keeps the baby at a fair incline... which doesnt seem very comfortable for an all-terrain, "jogger-like" stroller.
br /
br /Secondly, the "improved" folding mechanism that is supposed to make the Rocket more compact than the Indie, is a pain to operate. Bumbleride's solution is to replace the old (comfortable) pulling and folding mechanism with a series of steps which are (a) quite strenuos and (b) very poorly described in their user guide. This would easily be the stroller that you would see someone struggle with as they go through airport security, to fold... Once you do get it folded down it does become more compact than the rocket. But its a hazzle !
br /
br /The Indie of course does retain many other features of the rocket and has some improvements in locking the wheels etc. But in general it was a dissappointing buy. So, we are returning the Indie. And hoping that Bumbleride does fix some of these issues. Coz we really did like the Rocket to start with!!!
