I just purchased this for my 6 month old and that's the only thing that I can think... How did I ever live with out this??? I had a Graco Quattro before, and purchasing this stroller has brought me out of the dark ages. That's how drastic the difference is. (And I loved my Quattro...I thought that I'd never trade it in.)

br /I'd like to address a few things that people have said. First, "The shopping basket is to small." Yes, it is a LOT smaller then the baskets that you would find on normal size strollers... But that would be b/c this is a smaller stroller. You can't put a HUGE basket under there. It just wouldn't fit. For the size of the stroller, the basket is an alright size. As far as the tipping backwards if you put to many bags on the back of it. It's a no brainer. Yes, I could put more bags on my Quattro, but it was a bigger, heavier, wider stroller, I could add more weight to it. This weighs next to nothing... You add weight and somethings gonna happen.
br /
br /Second, "It's difficult to fold." I haven't had any issues with folding it. It's rather simple, you just push down on 2 things with your foot and push it down. It's not that hard. I can do it while holding my wiggly 6 month old in my arms.
br /
br /Third, "Maclaren customer service is non-exsistent." I have had no issues with them. I received my stroller and the basket had a small hole in it. I called them up, faxed in a copy of my receipt and a week later I had a new basket at my door. It was that easy.

br /Knowing now, what I didn't know before I had my daughter.... I would have just bought this stroller right off the bat instead of wasting my money on the big bulky stroller that goes with the car seat. It was like driving an old car with no power steering and then driving a car with power steering. That's how much better the handling is. I wouldn't waste my money on another stroller.

If you've got the money for this, you won't be disappointed. The handles are tall enough for my husband (he's 6'3") and still comfortable for me (I'm 5'5"). I love the feel of the handles, too. Also, they are angled in a way that makes pushing with one hand a breeze. The storage area on the canopy is very roomy and convenient. The front and rear shocks make for a nice smooth ride. The underseat basket is easy to access, not true with some umbrella strollers. I love that it has a removable seat cushion, and the fabric is so soft. I did not think it smelled bad in any way, as a previous reviewer mentioned. The 5 point harness is excellent and easy to maneuver. I love that you get a full recline with this stroller and it still folds up nice and small. The canopy can't quite cover everything, but that's to be expected in an umbrella stroller, and I don't find it to be a problem.

br /Most importantly, my son (6 months) couldn't be happier. He absolutely loves it, which is great because we walk at least 3 miles every day.
i like it

The maclaren techno classic stroller 2005 is a great stroller with a few minor flaws. The under basket is way to small which hinders my shopping expeditions, and as a previous reader mentioned the stroller tends to fall back if the bag hung on the handles is a bit heavy. I also have a BIG problem with the closing feature. It is too hard to close and when i am trying to get on the public bus, i always have to rely on the kindness of strangers to help me close the stroller while i hold my son. I think the stroller is actually perfect for my 1 1/2 month old son. I would recommend the stroller to anyone who can afford it and would love the convinence of a lightwieght, versatile stroller.

I just purchased this for my 3 1/2 year old daughter. My husband and I have looked everywhere for a stroller that would fit a tall toddler. It seemed that all strollers were meant for little babies...that is until I saw the Techno. The handle-bars are tall for my husband, it is easy to manuver, and my daughter doesn't look squashed in it. It has several positions and allows her to lay flat as well. I, too, like the organizer in the back for keys and such, as well as the small bin on the bottom. My daughter says that she feels very comfortable in it. It will easily grow with her until she is 5. It is a big investment that is well worth the price. You will not be disappointed. I liked the idea that I could purchase the Maclaren bag as well to take on the plane. It would enable us to protect the stroller from the damage that is always sustained on flights.
The best stroller I've ever owned.

I have been through at least 10 strollers (singles, doubles, single jogger, double jogger, umbrella, etc.) and this is, by far, the best stroller I have ever owned. After dealing with a Peg Perego for years, the Maclaren maneuverability is a dream - I can even stroll it with one hand while walking my big, pulling dog with the other. Once you take a minute to understand how it closes (hint- read the instructions) you can close it with one hand easily. This stroller is also so light, I can put it in the high back window of my SUV with one hand (it has a handle). Despite its light weight, it never feels flimsy. I love this stroller!

I chose the Techno Classic over the Techno XT because it comes with a head roll and foot bag. I'm happy with the stroller, but beware of one thing: you cannot use it out-of-the-box because the materials emit such foul fumes!

br /When I unpacked my new stroller, I was nearly knocked over by the strong smell of plastics and solvent due to toxic outgassing. It was the "new car smell," but 100 times worse than you could imagine. I literally got a headache after being in the vicinity of the stroller for about a minute and I was forced to move the stroller outside. I removed all the liners and washed them three times and the stroller sat outside for 2 weeks before I dared to put my infant in it.

br /Also, as mentioned in other online reviews, MacLaren customer service is non-existent. I sent them 2 messages and no response after 4 weeks. So the stroller gets 4 stars, but toxic fumes and bad customer service each deserve a minus.
