The Zapp (US version) is a very good stroller for traveling types. The addition of the four-point ride for the US version (instead of the original three-pointer in the EU) has resolved any stationary or moving stability problems. The Zapp is light, but not too light like a cheap, flimsy umbrella stroller you'd find at the dollar store, and thus, it's great for traveling or for small cars with even smaller trunks. It's easy to push and maneuver, and it has good looks.
br /
br /Will it replace my Bugaboo Gecko? No! It's not as easy to drive one-handed since there is no handlebar, only handles. With the Bugaboo you can center one hand on the bar and maneuver it nicely one-handed. The other reason why my Zapp will not replace my Gecko is the ride. Bugaboos have primo suspension! When I push the Zapp on the street or sidewalk, it's a bit rattly, and the wheels make *noticeable noise* almost like a shopping cart's. At that moment I knew I was missing the utter silence and smoothness of a Bugaboo ride.
br /
br /Since the Bugaboo does not travel as well (it takes a bigger, longer transport bag), I am recommending the Zapp for traveling and zipping in and out of international subways. Why didn't Quinny call this the Quinny Zipp? Its light weight at around 15 1/2 pounds satisfies although my Gecko weighs only 18 pounds. Its vibrant color is oddly soothing. Its folding has a short learning curve, and since the Zapp comes with a travel bag and a bunch of accessories, it's a *good value* for those who want to combine modern style and futuristic design with travel ease.
Love it! Love it! Love it!

We have only had our Zapp for a few days but it is AWESOME! Lightweight, folds small and looks fabulous! We have gotten too many complements to count in 3 seperate outings. Yes, it will flip backwards if you put TONS of weight on the back of it, but any umbrella stroller would do the same. It was just fine with my large purse hanging on it. You can't expect this stroller to be everything (i.e. weigh next to nothing but still behave like a full-size) but it sure does come close. It turns on a dime, with only one hand. I easily found a cup-holder/tray to fit it for just 10 bucks. Me and my husband both enjoy handling it, and today we decided to give away our travel system to be replaced with the maxi-cosi infant seat to go with this for our next child. We love it! Oh and I think the previous poster has a faulty stroller as our wheels and the sample in the store both rode without squeeking or rattling! Buy this stroller, you will love it!
Excellent Travel Stroller!

If you are traveling with an active toddler this is the stroller for you! It folds soo compact, that Continental airlines allowed us to store it inside the plane in an overhead compartment! It's also great for restaurants as you can push it under the table and fits well into small rental cars. It's extremely light to carry and can easily be pushed with one hand. The only negatives: it can tip backwards (even with the US version's 4th wheel in front) with too much weight on the handles and the seat does not recline. Overall it's a great travel stroller.
Absolutely worth every penny, especially for city-dwellers

I have used this since my son was 3- months old. We started with the combi seat (so that the child faces you when you are pushing the stroller--and you can easily take it out) and then once he was 10- month old, we moved to the canvas version (shown in the picture). We love the light weight, the easiness of folding the stroller, the "turning on a dime", and the style. In addition, this works great for people who take public transpotation as it is relatively narrow, yet sturdy. I live in Washington, DC and get asked about once a week where I got my stroller... The only negative thing is that it does not have a "basket" to carry a parent's junk.
br /
br /We have hardly used the other, bulkier stroller- which we refer to as the SUV with 2 drink-holders.
Very good travel stroller, with innovative features.

As a father of 5, I have been through my share of strollers. We have the Quinny Buzz which is a fantastic stroller for walks around the house or when we go somewhere that will involve a lot of stroller use. The Maxi-Cosi car seat works with both the Buzz and the Zapp. The Zapp collapses into a tight bundle and fits neatly into it's own carrying case for air travel. It is the second best stroller we have ever had and we've had over 10. If space isn't an issue, I'll go with our Buzz, but the Zapp is very close in terms of the way it handles and cleans up. The frame is very light and it is extremely durable. We love Quinny.

We bought this to be the compact/travelling stroller that would compensate for the not so compact Bugaboo stroller that we own. Friends of ours had bought one in a Europe a year ago and talked about how compact and easy to fold it was. Here's our list of Pros and Cons:
br /
br /Pros:
br /- Fun colors, overall very cool design
br /- Compact when folded, takes up minimal trunk space in our sedan
br /- The four-wheel American version isn't as prone to tipping as the 3-wheel Euro version, which means you can also hold some items (bottle holder, small changing bag) off the handle bars without worrying that the stroller will fall over when you get the baby out
br /- Maneuvers nicely in narrow spaces, although clearly not as smooth a ride as the Bugaboo
br /
br /Cons:
br /- Doesn't recline; our 8 month old still falls asleep in it, but it doesn't look like it's comfortable enough to take her through a full nap of more than one hour on the road; we're planning to buy a SnugHug neck support to see if this makes it more comfortable for naps
br /- The 3-wheel Euro model has the nice hydraulic "auto open" feature that the Quinny Buzz has, but the 4-wheel American version doesn't; overall, the stroller is very easy to fold-down, but without the hydraulic action, it's hard to open up (hard to explain, but you need to pull out this one piece in the back, and so far we haven't been able to do it without turning the stroller on its side; that's fine if the baby's still in the car, but not if you're just off an airplane and trying to unfold the stroller with the baby in your arms and people trying to get by)
br /- we were told by our friends that it was small enough to take on board the plane; that may be true, but it's still pretty cumbersome; even with two of us travelling with the baby, it was too much of a pain to carry that plus our diaper bag, plus any work/reading stuff, so we checked it in at the gate
a great stroller - as long as you are not super-tall

I have the Quinny Zapp stroller in capri. So far, I'm very happy with it.
br /
br /1) :-): I was so happy that I was able to assemble the stroller myself! (OK, I typically rely on my husband to bring out his tool box, ignore the instructions, and figure it out the manly man way.) I just identified the parts per the manual, followed the instructions, and pop, there it was!
br /
br /2) :-): Sometimes, us mommies forget how to close or open the stroller, thanks to all the craziness going on. But the Zapp has the parts clearly marked to assist you in closing and opening the stroller. Making it a total breeze.
br /
br /3) :-0: My husband has a uncomfortable time pushing this stroller because he needs to bend his back a bit, rather than be able to just stand up straight. So if you're tall, don't buy it without testing it out first.
br /
br /4) :-): They're really not kidding when they say that the Zapp is currently the smallest stroller out there. It takes up only a tiny chunk of space in my Volvo V50.
br /
br /5) :-O: The storage unit capacity is minimal. And the storage basket is not easily accessible. So think twice before you take your baby out in this stroller on a shopping spree.
br /
br /Overall, it's a great deal.

Bought this as our travel stroller and REALLY like it on the first trip. Folds very compact, a breeze to put together. Super swift ride/turns in airports, nice solid construction... We also have a Frog but think the Zapp will become our favorite simple, everyday, handy stroller. Only suspected downside is the wheels being smaller than the bugaboo: a bit of a rougher ride if un-perfect terrain. Other than that, very very nicely surprised with the Zapp!

After going through several strollers with our first child and never really being satisfied, we decided to start from scratch. Now knowing what is important and what isn't, after almost 4 year of dealing with strollers, we did a lot of research and test driving before choosing which ones to buy. We picked this stroller for our umbrella type. It is super light weight, folds up more compact than any other stroller out there (can fit in an overhead on an airplane) and is so easy to control. Now people say that about a lot of strollers, even super cheap ones. But until you have actually been able to push one around easily with one hand (one finger, even!) then you don't know what a smooth ride it can be. I gave it four stars only because it doesn't have the oh so important child trays, snack holders, parent drink holders that clutter up the usual American strollers, but we all seem to need. This is not the one to use when going for long walks outside, but it is great for trips to the mall or other crowded places. Another benefit is that it is wider at the shoulders and longer in length, so it is good for bigger kids as well. And then there is the wow factor. It is bright and funky looking and always gets lots of looks of admiration. Not that that is important, but it is a bonus. I wouldn't buy something just for brand or looks, but this is a well made and fun to use stroller, so well worth the money.

The Zapp is definitely a great stroller. It maneuvers like a dream, is very compact (folded and open), has comfortable handles and an easy brake system (one pedal locks both back wheels). Couple of drawbacks - the seat forces my average-sized seven-month old into a slouchy position that she finds uncomfortable beyond 30 minutes or so. I think this will improve once her legs are longer. The other issue is its lack of cup-holders, but I consider this a fair trade for its fold-down size.

Like most babies, mine was under 20 lbs her first year and fit in the MaxiCosi car seat very comfortably. You do have to buy this car seat separately, but it is one of the safest rated by Consumer Reports. With her frequent napping, the car seat attachment was especially convenient moving her to and from the car or plane without disrupting her nap. This stroller survived monthly flights - gate checking was easy and the car seat went with the baby on the plane and into the rental car. The wheels are easily removable, but the whole thing zips into its carrying case. Fitting into different rental cars was the key issue. When I downsized from a SUV to a compact, the stroller only took a third of my compact's trunk. The carseat attachment and zip-in seat take only minutes to change. You can always leave the bottom half zipped in with the carseat on top. Last thing about the stroller using the carseat: the handles fold 90 degrees, perfect to pull the baby up to a restaurant table facing the party.
br /
br /Cons about the Zapp: there is a small storage basket beneath, maybe too small. You have to be creative about attaching toys. When you brake, only the left rear wheel locks, though maybe that's changed. You need 2 hands to fold, but it's a cinch. The seat does NOT recline for the ultimate napping. With the small size, shock absorbers and fancy wheels are sacrificed, so only smoother surfaces for small infants.
br /
br /Nowadays, I just use the stroller (without the MaxiCosi carseat). The material seems to keep the baby cool and clean ups are quick. Unlike other strollers that sell accessories a la carte, this stroller comes with several covers that you will suddenly realize are useful. The thing turns on a dime and takes very little space - think lines at the bank and at stores. Since you can navigate with one hand, you still have a free hand!
Love, love, love this stroller!

I'd used this stroller for 6 months before I lost it. Still thinking of buying another one but I don't want to lose it again. It's quite pricey for a light weight stroller (though it's not that light, really).
br /
br /Steering is super easy even with one hand, perfect when you go shopping. It folds into a small bundle, leaves a lot of room in my trunk. Just LOVED it, and losing it got me very upset for days.

This stroller is fabulous. It folds up small and comes with it's own travel bag. I use it all the time with our maxi cosi carseat and it's even better for airplane travelling because you can just wheel it and the carseat up to the gate and gate check them. It's very sturdy for a light stroller and easy to maneuver.

br /I just purchased this stroller as a replacement for my $500 Valco Baby Trimode (with additional jump seat that makes it a double.) My 4 year old no longer needs a stroller and my 19 month old baby is becoming more and more mobile every day. I was sick and tired of having a giant, heavy stroller take up my trunk!!!!! So, (as my husband puts it) I traded in the Escalade for the Carmengia. This thing is great!!! It really cruises, folds so small, looks amazing, and my confinement-resistant son loves it!!!!!!! You definitely can't put bags on the handles, so its not a pack mule in the way that many strollers are, but it does have a small basket underneath that holds a few small shopping bags or a little diaper bag and I was able to find a little mesh bag that velcros low down on the stroller back so as not to mess with the balance. It turns and pushes so well that when I have had a few bags in my hand, I was able to maneuver the stroller with ease.
br /
br /This stroller is perfect of you are looking to ditch all the cumbersome baby gear and travel light~

I bought the $200. Quinny Zapp in Mandarin to replace my giant $500 Valco trimode with toddler seat (which I sold) because my 4 year old doesn't ride in a stroller anymore. Having a giant, heavy stroller take up half my trunk was driving me crazy! So! As my husband puts it, I traded in the Escalade for the Carmengia. This little stroller really cruises! It turns with ease, folds so tiny, looks amazing, and has a nice wide seat, so my confinement-hating 19 month old actually enjoys riding in it. (He also enjoys sitting in it while watching TV...)
br /
br / I bought a cute little stylish phone case that velcros to the handlebar to hold my phone and money (because you can't hang anything heavy from the handles or it will tip) and a stroller bag that I velcro low on the back (so it doesn't affect the balance) to hold some small shopping bags. It comes with a little mesh basket underneath that is big enough for one of those little take-along diaper bags, and maybe a bottle and a snack.
br /
br /The bottom line, this is an AMAZING stroller if you want to ditch all the giant heavy baby gear and travel light around town.
Form and function? Very close to perfect, but...

We were looking for a packable stroller that we could stick our daughter in, lug just about anywhere in the world, but with better quality than the average umbrella stroller on the market today. When my wife first saw the Quinny Zapp on another website, she was smitten. After purchasing through Amazon and the obligatory minimal assembly you will have one really cool looking piece of rolling kidlet couture. It's almost guaranteed to have admiring parents running up and asking about your unique take on a stroller. It folds into its own bag and is fairly transportable but is not as compact as we'd hoped. Other downsides to the Quinny are that the back does not recline for comfortable napping and the underside storage basket is miniscule. This storage area won't even hold the storage bag due in part to the reinforced bottom panel of said bag. The positives are pretty big, however. The Zapp is super manuverable over just about anything short of sand and turns on the proverbial dime. It's so smooth, you really have to experience the operation to appreciate it. The other high point is the height of the grips. I'm 5'11" and the handles are at the prefect level for me. If you've ever pushed a stroller that forces you to scrunch down, it can be a nightmare on the back. Again, this is not our primary stroller but what we chose for our traveller. The benefits do outweigh the lows, but I wanted to add this review for a balanced point of view.
Small when folded, sturdy when in use.

We bought the Zapp after reading that it would fit in the "boot" of our Mini Cooper with room to spare-- and it sure does! A child needs to have pretty good head and neck control before using this stroller. But the stroller itself feels substantial and looks great! In the case it is a little heavier than I would like, but we bought this more for the size than the weight.

I purchased this stroller because it was lightweight and compatible with my Maxi-Cosi Cabrio car seat/ carrier. I was excited because I heard so many great things about it. However, I was really disappointed by the quality of the zippers. The seat attaches to the frame via zippers and velcro. You need to zip off the seat and attach the car seat adaptors in order to use it to carry the car seat. This is a pain in itself, but the zippers were really difficult to open and close. The zippers collapsed and were impossible to close. There are zippers around the whole thing! One would think they would use quality zippers. Trying to zip the zipper around the bottom corners gave my husband and I blisters! We literally worked on closing the zipper for over a half an hour. I am returning it unzipped.
br /
br /I really like the color, the way it maneuvers and its size, but I can't deal with the aggravation of the zippers. The Maxi-Cosi products I ordered recently are different than the models from Europe. I am not sure if it is the same with the Quinny. I can't imagine people singing the praises of this stroller if they used the same zippers.

We have the European version of this stroller (i.e. it has only one front wheel (fully articulated), instead of the two; and it has no storage bag under the seat) and it is awesome. I cannot speak for the Americanized version. Ours folds up very compactly, and even fits in its carrier case with the footmuff on. There are no bells or whistles with this stroller, which is why we picked it, so we did add a Euro mesh/net shopping bag to the back, just to hold the rain cover. (We are outside A LOT and I don't like to be caught withought the rain cover.) This light weight item does not make the stroller tip, and it still folds up just fine with the bag on the back like this. My daughter (13 months) loves her Zapp--she can see everything going on around her, even with the rain cover on.

I am very unhappy with this stroller. It does fold nice, and turns very well, and has the best harness I have seen, but the wheels rattle worse than a rusty shopping cart. It is so loud that people look at me when I walk down the street. I can hear it even over the street noise of new york. I have the bugaboo frog, and i was hoping to use this as my subway/bus stroller. If the wheels didnt rattle i think i would like it a lot. I did try putting grease on them as the Quinny site suggests, but the rattle is inside the wheel, i think a ball bearing issue.

Buy this stroller only if you think your child will never ever move.
br /It just tipped over and my daughter wasn't even moving that much. She hit her head on the pavement, we were in a public place and few people around us witnessed the accident. It was scary...this stroller is dangerous and should NOT be on the market. If you look at the back wheels you will notice they should extend much further in order to offer proper balance. Quinny has made the smallest stroller around when it comes to folding, but it has sacrificed safety.

I have 2 Quinnys, the Zapp and the Speedi. I live in Europe and bought my Zapp here and it happens to have one less set of wheels (strange!) so I am not sure if my review will be as helpful. While the Zapp is very light and folds down very small it has many draw backs. One, I think it may be too light. Sounds crazy I know but its almost like it has lack of control or something, a mind of its own. You always need the break on when stationary. Also, my daughter was in the Zapp facing me and just lightly pushing on my knee and she pushed herself over. Secondly, it has only one position and my daughter also seemed slumped over and very uncomfortable. She was 11 months old when I bought it so she is a strong baby. She is rarely fussy but always fusses when she is in this stroller. And lastly, mine did not come with any shopping bag so storage is a problem. I do like how small it folds and that it comes with a travel bag, which is great for flying. But it is not worth the over $200 you are being charged in the States. Although, the Capri color is very pretty. I ended up buying a Kolcraft Contours Lite Plus with an iPod Dock. So now I have multiple strollers for multiple functions.

Not a very safe stroller for the money I paid. I bought this stroller to take on vacation because of the so called "ease of use." Although it does fold compactly, it isn't the easiest stroller to fold while standing in an airport security line with 2 small children. You need BOTH hands and feet to fold this stroller. I thought this troller was really cool until it flipped backwards with my 26lb one year old IN IT!!! This has happened to me numerous times. YES, I did have a SMALL bag hanging on one of the handles but NOTHING heavy enough that would make the stroller flip backwards with my child IN IT!! I called Quinny and was told that it clearly states in the instructions never to hang anything off of the handles. NOT REALISTIC...I don't know anyone who doesn't hang a bag on their stroller handles from time to time. The cost of the stroller is not worth it and the customer service was even worse. I am not one to complain about products or service but this is ridiculous. OH and the seat doesn't even recline. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!
