BEST stroller, tried 7 other doubles

Rating: 5 out of 5

Thanks for your feedback
UPDATE: Now owned my BOB for one year and I STILL LOVE IT!!! It's holding up fantastic, still turns on a dime, nothing broken, creaking, squeaking, ripped or faded. My kids totally beat it up (food, mud, markers) and it still looks almost brand new. I hose it off every once in a while and that does the trick.
br /
br /First I want you to know that I have purchased or borrowed them all!!! I am my own mini consumer reports! LOL I have spent over $1600 on bad strollers.
br /
br /You name it, I've bought it or tried it. I have compared:
br /1) Graco Duo Rider tandem
br /2) The Peg Perego Duette (super expensive $750 and worst stroller ever made)
br /3) Peg Perego Aria Twin
br /4)Zooper twin side by side (not sure of the name)
br /5) Maclaren side by side
br /6) PhilTed double jogger that has the rear kid almost touching the ground (my kids HATED that) and after kid #2 is in back there is no basket room - are we joking?
br /7) Graco Duo Rider side by side
br /
br /The BOB Revolution Duallie ROCKED THE HOUSE compared to all the above and here's why....
br /
br /First of all I have a HUGE 4 year old (46 lbs and 45 inches) and a medium sized but hefty 3 year old (26 lbs and 37 inches). I can NOT feel the weight of my children when I push them in the BOB!!!!! Parents, you realize how incredible this is. The stroller is easier to push than my single stroller! And I am not exaggerating. That was the first thing that got me because frankly I was not interested in a jogger. AND....get this... my 3 year old does not make the stroller pull to one side, even when he rides solo!!! I had such a problem with this in all the other strollers it was such a chore to push the kids that i didn't take them anywhere. This was the case with each of the other strollers, but especially the case with the Graco Duo rider tandem and the Peg Perego Duette (both took an act of God to turn).
br /
br /The other thing I love are the HUUUGE sun canopies, they are independent of each other and practially cover my children completely and since my kids hate direct sunlight this was a must, must, must.
br /
br /Next I am sure you want to know how it turns....FANTASTIC! I strolled it all around the store when buying it and it could totally get in and out of isles without bumping everything off the shelves. This shocked me. And it does absolutely make it through doorways, a little tricky but it does. The only way to describe the way it turns is to quote my husband "it's like butter" :) It is seriously the smoothest ride ever!! I am so excited about it after going through so many strollers that were such a pain.
br /
br /Also each seat gives my hefty children plenty of room width-wise which doesn't make sense because they are almost the same dimensions as the others, magic I tell you. They don't look scrunched at all. They HATED the McClaren side by side whatever-its-called, and I hated it too frankly. I was stuggling even in the store and my kids were begging to get out, so cramped very hard to push. I felt this way with the Peg Perego Twin Aria too and was shocked because I LOVE my Peg Pergo Pilko P3. First I could have sworn the Twin Aria was going to snap when I turned, extremely flimsy, and my then two year old was cramped and complaining.
br /
br /That's another thing about the Bob, that sucker is really solid. It is very well made and has stood the test of time. There is very little (if any) plastic used. EVERY other stroller mentioned above is made of a lot of plastic that was showing wear after a short period of time.
br /
br /The shocks on the BOB are better than my car, I swear. It glides along and ever so slightly bounces up and down while you push as the movement of pushing is enough to send the shocks absorbing it. It's not a nusance at all if that's what your thinking, it actually makes pushing easier.
br /
br /The under basket is not the best, but considering everything, they have made the most of it. Also there are two decent sized baskets on the back of each seat. I have not had any problems like I thought I would and I pack a change of clothes for each, lunch for three of us, dolls, power rangers, etc and I have always been good. I do HIGHLY recommend the handle bar console/cup holder. Without it I was lost. It stores my keys, phone, wallet and two water bottles.
br /
br /As for the height of the seat area itself, my son only keeps growing taller (now 46 inches and counting) and he still fits with no complaints and believe me he would say something :)
br /
br /Anyway, I hope this helps all your parents who are making the very stressful "perfect stroller" choice. Learn from my mistakes! :) Also, I do wish I had initially purchased the fuzzy seat covers - mostly to protect the seats from the inevitable spills, squished PBJ sandwiches, etc. :)
br /
br /If I had purchased this stroller two years ago, things would have been a lot different. I know this stroller will last me a looong time. I will never buy a small compact stroller again after this.

Good-quality stroller

Strengths:
br /- Turns on a dime
br /- Sturdy construction
br /- Gives each child his/her own space
br /- Easy to fold - Large sun canopies
br /- Improved seat recline with 2007 model
br /
br /Weaknesses:
br /- Hard to get things in the under-the-seat basket
br /- Could use more seat height
br /- Must manually reset shock setting for higher weights after folding
br /
br /Summary:
br /
br /Overall I am very pleased with the BOB Revolution Duallie Navy Stroller (2007 model).
br /
br /Before making the purchase, I spent much time deciding between BOB and the less expensive Dreamer Design Ditto Manhattan Deluxe. Though I wanted to save money, I decided to go with BOB since I know and trust the brand. (We had a good experience with our first jogging stroller: a single BOB Sport Utility Stroller (SUS).)
br /
br /My first impression of the Revolution Duallie was favorable. It is of the same high quality as my first stroller. However, I like the features on this stroller better than my original. The swivel wheels turn on a dime; whereas I found the fixed wheels on the SUS made it hard to turn. I also appreciate the improved level of seat recline with the 2007 model.
br /
br /Though the Revolution Duallie does not have a hand brake - I read somewhere that hand brakes aren't compatible with swivel wheels - I like the rear parking brake. It is very easy to engage and disengage. What's more, I can engage the brake by pulling on the wrist safety strap. I expect that this will stop the stroller if I happen to slip while heading downhill. I do wish, however, that they'd find a way to put on a hand brake. It is rather difficult to manage the steep hills of Vermont with the weight of two children.
br /
br /BOB does a great job of providing each child with his/her own space. I test "pushed" a few other double strollers and found that the kids were practically leaning on each other. In the Revolution Duallie, my son pretends he's in his own little cave when the sun canopy is all the way down.
br /
br /The stroller is very easy to fold, and the wheels are easy to take off and put on. I haven't tried to put it in my trunk, but I did get it in our mudroom closet without problem. It has approximately the same folded dimensions as our single SUS, only it is wider. On that note, I was pleased to discover that it managed to fit through the door of my local post office (albeit, just barely).
br /
br /The things I don't like are relatively minor, but here goes. If your children collectively weigh more than 50 pounds, you have to manually move the shock setting. If you never have to fold the stroller this is not a problem. However, if you do fold the stroller, it automatically reverts back to the lower setting, meaning you must remember to reset it each time.
br /
br /I have a very hard time getting anything thicker than a few books into the under-the-seat basket. The basket itself is big enough; the difficulty lies in getting items in there.
br /
br /Finally, I wish the seat back were higher. My three-year-old son's head almost touches the canopy, especially when it is upright. I do appreciate, however, that BOB provides a drawstring to pull up excess canopy fabric. This makes the most of the available headroom.
br /
br /As for price, I found a very good deal online through a bicycle shop in Virginia. I paid $422.99 and received free shipping.

We own a Bubaboo, a Maclaren, and a Kettler tricycle. We chose navy because the oranges we've seen seem to fade into an ugly color over time. Also, our Skip Hop single bag fit fine on the stroller and didn't have to buy any Bob accessories.
br /
br /Pros:
br /1) narrower than expected - you still can't fit through a single door, but it's very maneuverable and fit through tight areas on sidewalks
br /2) doesn't want to tip backwards unlike our Bugaboo
br /3) storage space is fairly good
br /4) rolls true unlike what we've heard about other dual strollers when the kids are very different in size/weight
br /5) front pivoting wheel lockout is a must for roaming around town
br /6) amazon free shipping and delivery from Eagle
br /
br /Cons:
br /1) manual is poorly written and is cheap
br /2) Bob logo is pasted all over the stroller
br /3) wrist strap drags on the ground if we forget to hang it up

I have a 2.5 year old and a 6 month old. I have been searching for a double stroller since before we had our second one. I was really torn between side-by-side or tandem. I thought for sure the Phil Ted Vibe was going to be the perfect option for us, but that wasn't the case.
br /
br /My advice is to take your oldest child with you when shopping for a stroller. I sat my oldest in the Vibe and he was too tall and come to find out is not allowed in the bottom seat because he is over the weight limite (35 lbs.). Also, there was no room between the seat the footplate for him to stretch out his legs.
br /
br /Next we tried the Mountain Buggy. This was my first side-by-side option because it had two front wheels. Well, my oldest is 36.5 inches tall and was too tall for the seats. He could not sit back without the canopy pushing his head forward. Which is another thing. . . only one canopy. . .that's tough.
br /
br /Then we tried the Bob. I was nervous because the reviews I read said that you should have two kids that weigh approximately the same otherwise it could tip because it only has one wheel in the front. I'm here to tell you that is not the case. In fact, we put our oldest in it and test drove it without the baby and it was awesome. It was smooth, easy to stear and he fit in it just fine with plenty of leg and head room. It's very simple to fold up (folds smaller than the mountain buggy) and if you go into buying a double stroller knowing it is going to weigh more you won't be disappointed.
br /
br /This was a great purchase and will not need anymore.

This stroller is awesome... I did a ton of research before I spent the big bucks, but it is totally worth it. I was nervous I wouldn't be able to take it with me because I drive a 4-door Accord, but with the wheels off, it fits right in! And the wheels are actually really easy to take on and off. I can take it anywhere and it fits through all sorts of doors.
br /
br /You won't regret buying this stroller!

I received this as a gift when I was expecting my 2nd child. I started using it on walks immediately. What a difference using this stroller over my Peg Perego Pliko 3. The stroller just glides like you are on ice. I used it for about 3 months with one toddler in it and I never had any issues with it being off balance. Now that I have an infant and a toddler in it, I still have no issues with balance. I was very nervous taking this stroller to the mall, but it fit through doorways fine. I recently started jogging with it and I now love it even more. I do have three small complaints. First, for such an expensive stroller, you shouldn't have to buy the console with the drink holder. Second, the storage basket underneath is difficult to access. You really cant put shopping bags there. Third, there isnt anywhere you can hook bags on to. I am going to purchase some carabiner clips to use as hooks on the carriage.

I've had this for 2 years and my 4 year old and 2 year old love it for when we go to our farm or the beach or other places where we walk more than their little legs can. We also have a Burley d'Light that we use mostly for biking, but this is our preferred stroller.
br /
br /The handling is great, the suspension works great for light hiking (even though we've used it for moderate/tough hiking; all depends on kids' tolerance for jostling). We have the orange which I liked for visibility and is cooler here in Alabama than navy. Very tough unit with box frame arms and components.
br /
br /My only concerns are plastic wheels that have not broken but if they did, I would have to replace vs. truing the spoke wheels. So far not an issue and I've (ahem) slightly abused ours and it's still as good as ever. Also, the shock resets to light after folding (other review same issue). And the under seat storage is plenty but in accessible once kids in the seats.
br /
br /The unit folds nicely, wheels come off back easily and front wheel locks for jogging/storage and all wheels are quick disconnect. Handlebar pouch, although not std (ugh!), is a necessity. I got ours for $[..] delivered so look around.

Solid Product - have twins.
br /- Only one that fits thru doorways (IMPORTANT ITEM)
br /- Kids comfortable and like it.
br /- Wife walks and goes Jogging with it.
br /- Has shocks for comfortable ride.
br /
br /
br /ONE FLAW - It does not have locking mechanism when folded up. This is needed when loading and unloading in vehicle. Comes with a velcro runaway strap that can be used to latch. Annoying enough to complain about, not enough to buy something else.

I love this stroller. It easily fits my tall-ish 3.5 year old, and my newborn just loves riding in it as well, goes right to sleep! This is a must for any mom bringing home her second baby for the first time - so easy to get out of the house and you will feel so much better after a short daily walk! It feels like it is floating on air compared to my In Step single jogger, and it turns with one hand with NO effort. I love it!!

The 2008 model is great with its improved reclining positions for the kids. I really like roller blading with this stroller, the swivel wheel makes it easy to push. I haven't tested other strollers, but this does seem heavy, so pushing it up hill is a little hard.
br /Overall, this is a great stroller that I would highly recommend.

It is one of the nicest strollers I have seen. It is very sturdy. It is large and it is heavy, but so are all double strollers. It is one of the only double jogging strollers that you can attach a car seat (for about 90 bucks more). The stroller works great while on pavement or on grass. It takes very little effort to push. One downside is the set-up for the straps. It is not great, in my opinion, but that is a sacrifice I was willing to make for all of the other positive qualities.
br /I would not pay full price for this stroller. Plan ahead, get it on sale or used. I got mine from REI for 20% off.

I have purchased many strollers from the maclaren (2nd best) to the graco duoglide-worst stroller ever. This is by far the best, comfortably holds my tall 4 year old and average size 18 month old, glides smooth and folds down easily. Love walking with this one. My husband loves it as well.

I am not one to write reviews on products but I just can't say enough good things about this stroller. I have recommended this stroller to family and friends and all have purchased it and have not been let down! I love how the sun shades actually shade the child and they are separate. This is a big plus! The shocks make the ride smooth for my children. (2 1/2 and 1 year old I have had this since my second child was born) The recline is nice for sleeping babies! The parking brake is easy to use. The only thing that I would suggest to BOB for improvement would be to make the handle bar adjust to different heights. It fits through a standard door and is incredibly easy to maneuver. I had a really hard time spending this amount of money on a stroller but it was well worth it and this stroller should last through a lot of kids! Thanks BOB I will always recommend this stroller to everyone who asks. I get a TON of comments about how nice it looks. I don't ever fight with my children to get them in this stroller.

I had my eye on the BOB for a long time before I actually purchased it. It was a bit hard for me to swallow the price, but the BOB is worth every penny particularly because I know I will use it a lot. The storage compartment on the bottom is relatively small, but the storage spaces on the backs of the seats make up for that. Each side can recline and each side has its own canopy. The wheels easily pop off and on to allow for quick storage. I pushed my son and his friend in this stroller which equalled about 50 lbs of kid plus the weight of the stroller itself and it was so much easier than pushing just my son in a regular Graco stroller. Love this stroller!!
