With the car seat adapter installed the Bob stroller will fold completely and easily, but there is a mistake you can make installation that will make you think it won't.
br /
br /I am usually quite adept and assembling products. That said, the installation of this car seat adapter is not entirely trivial, but if you are careful and fully follow the instructions and take time to understand them anyone can do it.
br /
br /The mistake I made on my first attempt was confusing what the instructions refer to as the "arm" and the "main bar". For some reason, I got them reversed in my head. The problem is that you can continue with the installation this way and the car seat (a Britax in my case) will click into it. However, a few things are awkward with this installation (difficult to move the hood, the angle of the car seat is slightly to steep, etc). But it appears to work except that you cannot fully fold the Bob like you could before. At first I was very frustrated and assumed I had installed it correctly but that it just didn't work well.
br /
br /However, I went back and carefully reviewed the instructions and realized that I has thought that the "arm" was the "main bar" and vice versa. I started the installation over from the beginning and it was much smoother. Now the car seat clicks in at a better angle, the Bob completely folds and the canopy moves easier. In hindsight it was a stupid mistake. I am writing this review to save other people from the frustration that I had.
br /
br /So, now I am very happy with the adapter.
br /
br /I will also point out that the kit comes with a foam block that is optional. It also slightly changes the angle that the car seat sits, but it is not necessary. It is a bit of a "hack" in my opinion. The bob does fold with it in place, but there is nothing really keeping the foam block from falling out. I am guessing I won't end up using it much.
br /
br /In the end, I am giving the car seat adapter only 4 out of five stars because the installation can be difficult to understand and I think it is a shame that it is not included with the Bob itself. It is a shame you have to spend extra to be able to use your car seat with the Bob.
br /
br /Finally, I will point out that this adapter does not work with all car seats. You should make sure that the car seat you have or plan to use is compatible before buying.

This is a great addition to the BOB

We love the infant seat adapter! The stroller does not collapse all the way, but it collapses enough it easily fits in most trunks. The benefit of the adpater is that you only have to buy one stroller until the baby is 55 lbs.! At first, I thought the car seat had to be positioned upright and our baby's head kept falling to the side. Then, I realized that you can situate the car seat almost flat and use the straps on the side to fit through the side of the car seat (at least it worked with our Graco SnugRide). We love the adapter and the stroller. I cannot tell you how many times I've been stopped by other Moms who ask about it. The adapter is a "must have" purchase if you buy a BOB and only want one stroller.

We were so glad to have an attachment for the car seat and it works perfectly. However, you still AREN'T SUPPOSED TO JOG with the car seat attachment. You have to wait for the child to be old enough to hold his head up (per the instructions). We thought the car seat would be enough support and were looking forward to jogging, but we're walking only for now.

Love it

We bought this to go with our Chicco Key Fit car seat and it fits great. It is sturdy and easy to install.

We love our Bob stroller. Yes, this car seat adapter is a lot of money for a simple looking item and the directions are rather confusing but it has been worth it. We could take our infant everywhere - priceless! We did not have any trouble collapsing the stroller as another writer noted. I didn't think one could use it as a food tray (?) but our son, now facing forward, uses it as a foot rest so we haven't even taken it out yet. Would buy again.

I went back and forth trying to decide if it was worth the cost of this adapter because it is pricey and the price did go up in the last couple of months. In the end, I decided to buy the product and it has been worth every penny. The adapter allows you to fit the infant car seat (see list of acceptable ones) and use the stroller as early as when the baby is only a week old. This was crucial for me in order to get outside and exercise after my c-section. It also helps save your sanity, in my opinion, to be able to get outside once a day during maternity leave. There is nothing more refreshing than going for a stroll after being cooped up all day in the house. The baby was perfectly comfortable in the car seat -- there is a styrofoam insert to place beneath the carseat which gives the perfect fit and the car seat was completely sturdy in position. I found no problems with positioning of the baby in the carseat as some reviewers have said (some said the baby's head tilts forward?), although I wonder if the BOB company added the styrofoam block to achieve a better fit after those reviews. In any case, you get more use out of the adapter than you would think because it also comes with a toddler snack tray that fits into the adapter -- this is another important thing for when the baby is older so really it is worth the investment in my opinion. Go for it and you'll love it. The adapter is a well-made, creative product.

We have been using our BOB Revolution since our son was born. (He's almost 10 months now) We love our stroller and did not have any problems with the adapter, including folding the stroller down completely to put in our vehicle. Be sure it is installed correctly. Also, our newborn seemed quite comfortable and logged many hours sleeping in it as we strolled parks, sidewalks and stores. This has been our primary stroller and I have no regrets. It is too bad that this accessory is so expensive as we only needed it for six months...But, if you already have a BOB you might as well get it rather than another stroller you will only use a short time. One does get spoiled with a BOB.

Sure, this car seat adapter seems over priced - and it may be which is one reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. But, it was an expected purchase because I wasn't going to get a BOB without one. The metal is VERY sturdy - just like the rest of the stroller. It does keep the stoller from folding all the way but, I knew that when I ordered it and don't at all regret getting it. How could it be better? - it could be less expensive and fold with the stroller.

love having it, but why does it cost so @!$% much

To start, we love our BOB and are so glad we bought this little piece of metal so that we can use it with our infant. But, it is still just an overpriced piece of metal. Hopefully, we will also use the snack tray when the time comes to face our little one forward.

Good option, just not perfect

The BOB Infant Car Seat Adapter for Strollers '05 or Newer is a great option if you want to use your BOB stroller with your infant car seat from the beginning. It is great to have that option and there is no better option out there. However, the adapter is generic for a list of infant car seats, and not designed specially for a brand, which also makes it a bit less secure. It is good with many but it does not completely lock.
br /
br /There is a belt that keeps the car seat attached to the stroller itself, but if you forget to use it, the car seat could become unstable. When I use the stroller with the car seat, I feel like I have to add a couple of rubber bands where the car seat and the adaptor connect, for peace of mind, to ensure that they cannot detach, no matter what.
br /
br /In addition, the BOB Infant Car Seat Adapter has a tray to use when your child is out of the car seat and can use the stroller sitting forward. Otherwise, the basic BOB stroller does not come with tray.

We love the car seat adapter for the BOB! It saved us from having to buy another stroller to use for our baby's first months and it works great. It is pretty easy to install, and we have no problems collapsing the stroller down now that the adapter is attached. Great product!

The Bob Revolution is freedom on wheels for an active new mother, and the adapter is a necessary gadget to mount a compatible car seat to hit the roads, or trails or mall...

The adapter really expands the functionality of the Bob. It's a little pricey, especially when you think about the actual cost of the materials involved. Although, the cost is offset by the length of time you will use it. It's a worthwhile addition.

We got it because we didn't want to get more than one stroller. It is easy to install (there are approximately 900 steps but they are all short). The stroller still folds nicely and fits in the trunk of my Camry. My daughter loves the stroller and I am so glad we got the adapter so we could use the BOB right away.

This is my first review on Amazon, but after buying this product and reading the other reviews I felt it was a good time to start. I purchased the BOB Revolution at a silent auction when our child was one month old, not knowing that an infant car seat adapter existed. I figured I would store it for a few months until our boy was old enough to sit in it properly. I was looking for accessories and when I saw this option I picked it up immediately. I have to say it is fantastic. Reviewers that have stated that it doesn't allow the stroller to fold completely or that it holds the seat at the wrong angle have installed it WRONG and should do it again. It has no effect on how effectively the stroller folds and it holds our Snugride seat at the proper angle. I can confirm this by looking at the window on the side of the seat.

br /I asked our pediatrician how soon I could start jogging with our child at our 1 month appointment. He said our boy was very strong and as long as I watched carefully during the first couple times, that I could start immediately. I have been running with him 3 times a week since he was 6 weeks old (he's 9 weeks now) and he loves it. I can watch him closely as he faces me and it allows for great bonding... not to mention helps get me out of the house and exercising at the same time. At our 2 month Dr. appointment last week, the pediatrician said our boy was developing physically and mentally at a high rate and said some of it could be credited to the time spent outside jogging. I highly recommend the BOB and the Infant Car Seat Adapter!

This was a bit annoying to attach, but once put on it works perfectly. We've been able to exercise very comfortably with our 4 week old. She is perfectly comfortable in the car seat (SnugRide), and the bouncing is absorbed well by the BOB's shocks - this was our only concern about using the stroller so young. The main drawback is that the stroller can't collapse all the way, but it's such a great stroller that I didn't want to wait to use it and this is the perfect solution!

I love our BOB Triathlon jogging stroller. I hated when we were going someplace that might involve our daughter eating and we took the Graco just because it had a snack tray. We bought the kit only for the snack tray but it really sits way too high for any infant. I realize it was integrated into the design of the infant seat carrier but the tray could have been designed to attach differently and be much lower. Now we look silly while we boost our daughter with a blanket when she is eating.

You can not collapse the stroller completely with the adapter attached and the car seat sits at such an angle your newborn's neck will invariably bend over to the point of their chin hitting their chest when they fall asleep. Otherwise, we live in New York City and this stroller glides over the cracks and bumps while I have seen Bugaboo strollers bang into the same cracks. It is worth the money if you actually use it for jogging. I would not recommend it as an everyday stroller. It is heavy, impossible to fold completely with the car seat adaptor and your newborn will not sleep comfortably in it.
