I've been trying to decide between the Kolcraft Contours Options Tandem and the Graco Quattro Duo. I needed a double stroller to accommodate my Graco Safe Seat car seat (my son arrives in Jan.) and my daughter who will be 20 mo. when he arrives. It came down to these 2 strollers. The Kolcraft is mostly sold online, but I was lucky to find one in a local baby store in my area and did a side-by-side comparison w/the Quattro using my daughter as a demo (currently 17 mo & 28" tall). Here are my findings:

C = Kolcraft Contours Options Tandem
Q = Graco Quattro Duo

LENGTH
C approx 52"
Q approx 50"
Nearly equal

WEIGHT
C approx 46 lbs w/seats & 40 lbs w/o
Q approx 39 lbs
Both are heavy, but equivalent

STEERING
C was slightly smoother to push over the Q

BASKETS
C was slightly larger & easily accessible from all sides than the Q

HANDLE
C Foam covered bar, not adjustable for height, 2 cup holders and storage case
Q Molded plastic handle bar, w/multiple hand positions, cup holder and storage case

CAR SEAT COMPATIBILITY
C Fits in front or rear seat, must remove stroller seat & insert car seat adapter frame and use strap from stroller frame to hold it securely in place. Overall, less disruptive to infant when transferring car seat from car to stroller.
Q Fits in rear seat only, no extra equip. needed. A bit cumbersome to install my Graco Safe Seat into stroller, I had to jiggle the seat to snap into place; more likely to disrupt infant.

SEAT SIZE
My child's head hit about 3" below the top of the seats in each model. I've read reviews that stated the seats were smaller in the C, but IMO they are equal.

SEAT COMFORT
C Fabric was soft yet durable. Seat cushioning looked more comfortable, had better quality construction & appeared more durable than Q.

SEATS
C Each seat (back and legs) can tilt back in 3 positions; would be less jarring to a sleeping child.
Q Only back portion of seats recline; 3 positions and only the rear seat fully reclines.

SEATING OPTIONS
C VERY versatile; just press buttons on the side of seat to remove seat to change positions. Children can both face forward, rear or one of each. Very cool!
Q Both seats permanently face forward.

FOOT RESTS
C Built into seat frame
Q Molded plastic attached to stroller frame.
Neither are adjustable to grow w/child's height. My child's feet were 1" from touching the foot rest in the C & hung several inches above the Q. One she'd outgrow, one she might grow into someday - IMO a wash.

LEG RESTS
C was easily adjustable in 3 positions - vertical as in a sitting position, horizontal w/legs straight out, or angled somewhere in-between.
Q No leg rests.

CANOPY
C Solid, durable fabric offers complete eye coverage from sun (if in upright position), smooth and quiet when sliding open & closed
Q Parent window on top and see-thru plastic windows on the side of canopy for child to see out; sun shines in side & into child's eyes; offers partial coverage (can't pull far enough forward), noisy & stiff to adjust.

CANOPY HEIGHT
Equal height. The top of my child's head was of equal distance from the top of canopy in each model.

EASE OF FOLDING
C Must remove rear seat (or car seat adapter) to fold. Requires 2 hands on side of stroller handle bar and 1 foot on basket to fold. Takes longer, but is easy enough to do.
Q Easy, quick & convenient one handed fold.

FOLDING POSITION
C Folds upright into standing position, requires no bending.
Q Folds flat onto ground, must bend down to pick up.

COMPACTNESS OF FOLD
C With 1 seat removed (3 lbs), folds a bit smaller than Q, and even more so if both seats are removed.

LIFTING
Q Has more intuitive grab bars.
C More awkward to lift. Grab handle bar and somewhere else; could use toddler handles on the side frame to lift but it's still awkward.
Neither is easy due to weight, but both are doable.

OVERALL APPEARANCE
C Not just my opinion, but I've read many reviews of others that LOVE the look of this stroller. It feels more open & less crowded than the Q.

OVERALL
It's called Contour OPTIONS for a reason. Lots of options and higher quality features give it a leg up over its competition. It's not perfect as it's slightly heavier and involves more steps to fold (hence the 4 stars). But overall, I think it's the better stroller - this is the one I'm going with!

Like a Bugaboo - for two!

The Kolcraft Contours Options Tandem Stroller is everything we have been searching for in a double stroller!

I can't stop grinning as I proudly wheel it along!

We have a 2 year old and a 4 month old.

As we had a Bugaboo Frog for our first child, we've been waiting for something just as good (but for 2 kids) to come on the market. In our opinion, the Kolcraft Contours Options Tandem Stroller fits the bill perfectly!

WE LOVE IT!

Our first double stroller was a side by side. It's width & it's weight made it totally impractical. It had to go.....

We were prepared to pay a lot of money for a new stroller, if it was the PERFECT stroller for us. We were considering a Jane Powertwin (triple the price of the Kolcraft Contours Options Tandem Stroller) - which still wouldn't have met all our needs anyway..... So when we discovered the Kolcraft Tandem, we couldn't believe the quality, for such a great price! It's perect for us!

We particularly love:

+ the flexibility in seating options

+ the enormous shopping basket

+ the easy-open armrests to make it easy to get in & out

+ the toddler step - for climbing in and out

+ the drink holders & knick knack compartment (perfect for your mobile phone!)

+ our MAXI COSI Cabrio fits in the car seat adaptor!!

+ the seats are comfortable for our 2 year old

+ it's easy to push

+ it's easy to manouvre

+ it fits through doorways easily

+ it's easy to get up curbs, even with the heavier child in front

+ it's easy to fold up

+ it fits in our VW Golf easily

+ it looks fantastic!

The only negative is that it doesn't come with a rain cover - something that we need because we live in Ireland! We're planning on using our Bugaboo rain cover for one seat, and purchasing another cover for the other seat. Hopefully that will work.....

We bought our Kolcraft Contours Options Tandem Stroller online through Amazon and had it delivered to our hotel in the States when we were over there.

We usually have both kids facing each other and they love it! So far we've had no trouble with leg room. The footrests adjust anyway, to make more room.

At first it felt very long, like driving a train - TOOT! TOOT! But we soon got used to it's length & it's fine....

It's a real head-turner too, because it looks so good and people haven't seen anything like it before!

So we give this product 5 stars! It may not be everyone's perfect double stroller, but it's definitely ours!

great concept, poor design

***Ammendment: 2 weeks later....I have decided to keep this stroller. I still wish the seats were longer for my BIG baby. HOWEVER, I have found that I can easily switch the seat positions without removing the child (just detach and swing seat around). This is helpful because the seats definitely don't recline well in child facing child position, but if one child gets sleepy, I just swing the front seat forward and then there is plenty of room for each to recline. Also found that it is not as crowded when the temperature warms up and the babies aren't so bundled..good news for summer. It is very easy to steer. Cumbersome to get in and out of car, but doable. Kolcraft could definitely improve upon this, but good features for the money. I would INCREASE RATING TO 3 STARS. : )

_____________________________
I was so excited to find this stroller for my 7 month old twins. It seemed to have the features that I had been searching for (I had been dreaming of a tandem bugaboo). I wanted a narrow stroller with two reversible seats. However, I doubt that Kolcraft ever tested this with real-live children!

Pros:
lots of space when both babies are facing forward
seats are easily removed
great sunshades
great basket
nice colors, style

Cons:
Seats are SOOOO shallow and short- my 22 lbs baby just barely fits

When children are facing each other, the seats cannot recline properly-the foot rests block the opposite seat from moving

When children are facing, there is not enough room for both of their feet!

When children are facing the driver, the seat closest to the handle cannot move properly-the footrest bumps into the basket

Very Heavy.

The seats recline as a whole unit rather than just the back part moving-makes it hard to recline with kids in the seats (in fact, the instructions tell you to remove the children BEFORE reclining- how inconvenient!)

I would recommend a test-drive with this stroller before purchasing so you can see how your own children will fit. It would probably be good for newborns up to 6 or 7 months, but after that, its use will be short-lived. Please Kolcraft, rework your great idea and design this better!!

Fantastic Tandem!

It's so hard to find a tandem stroller that does it all. I think this one really does, though! My husband put this one together yesterday. Our three year old son loves it (he's 36 lbs and about 3'3") and so does our 9 month old son. We love it too. The only thing that I don't like about it is that it takes up about 1/3 of the space in the back of our Chevy Avalanche. That's a LOT of space. It's a little heavy to lift, but not to push. It really does seem like the cadillac of tandem strollers. Well made and has plenty of storage room. Best of all, it has TWO parent cup holders that fit just about every cup we own. I give this stroller five stars for the following reasons:

- Easy to push
- Kids seem VERY comfortable
- Tons of configurations to fit every need
- Came with an adapter for infant seat
- Great storage
- Snazzy look

Happy shopping!

This is a wonderful double stroller. I have gone to several different stores to see the full spectrum of what is available. The only two issues that this stroller has versus "some" of the others is no kid cup holder (although there are two adult cup holders) and the weight.

The two real competitors are the Duoglider and the sit and stand (as these accommodate an infant carrier). Graco is also coming out with a Quattro Duo. The Graco Duoglider does have the weight advantage and a one-hand fold, however it is actually larger than the Kolcraft once folded and is no comparison in quality of craftsmanship. Also, it is challenging to get the infant car seat into the Duoglider. You have to cram it into position (which could easily wake a sensitive baby). The baby is also very enclosed once attached. The canopy does not come off and covers a large part of the infant seat. The seats on the duoglider are about an inch or so shorter than the Kolcraft and very lousy quality. Hard...uncomfortable. The Quattro Duo that is coming out is shorter than the Duoglider and the Kolcraft, but is closer in weight to the Kolcraft. Shorter also means it will be more crammed for the kiddies.

The sit and stand is as long as the Duoglider and the seats are crappy. The only reason I considered it was because I thought it would be closer to a single stroller in length...but it is not. The Joovy is horrible when an infant seat is installed, as the toddler can't really "sit". They are pushed forward.

The KOLCRAFT is awesome. The weight issue to me is not a huge deal. As long as you are able to lift it in and out of your car...who cares how much it weighs. Once you have two children, the days of holding your child while putting the stroller into the car with one hand are over. In order to keep your kids safe, you "have" to put them in the car first. So what difference does it make if you can't fold the stroller one handed at that point. NONE.

The seats are incredible. They are different than most but fit larger kids just fine. When facing each other the kids will bump feet...but as long as they like facing each other, who cares. If it is a problem...turn the seats the other way. Kolcraft makes it EASY. The basket is HUGE. The cup holders are generous. The canopies are MUCH larger than the picture shows. The kids have tons of space to themselves. The quality is great. Also, if you read reviews on other Kolcraft Contour strollers, you will find that people say the customer service is outstanding. Kolcraft effortlessly sends replacement parts, etc. (This is from what I read.)

All in all, this is the best, most affordable, front/back double stroller you can get at the present time. The only reason it did not receive 5 stars is because of the weight and the cupholders for kids.

Happy shopping!

Prior to receiving this stroller (but after ordering it), I spoke with a Kolcraft rep who told me this stroller weighs 55 lbs and was too heavy for her to lift in and out of a car. I was set to re-route it back to Amazon when I heard that, but decided to put it together and see if it was as bad as she said. Here's what I found:

The rep was wrong--the gross weight of the box is 55 lbs, but according to the box, the stroller is 46.75 lbs. The frame accounts for all but maybe 6 lbs (the seats).

It took about 20 minutes to put it together with almost no issues. Note, you'll want to air it out as it stinks!!!

It is very easy to remove the seats to change their position--the rear one sits a tad higher, and for larger kids, there might be no room for feet if they sit facing each other.

The seat depth appeared very shallow--maybe 8". The legrests are great and do go up and down, but there are basically no footrests. The kids must be buckled, as it's easy for them to slide out under the bar due to the shallow seats.

The sunshades are way better than shown--they are much longer than I expected and if the kids are facing each other, you can almost cover them putting both down.

The seats don't "recline"; they tilt. Could be issues if you tilt the front one all the way back (think airplane seats!).

The basket is HUGE and very accessible from the back, front and sides. Holds 10 lbs.

There are no snack trays for the babes, but these foam-covered bars (yes, the kind kids like to chew and pick at) which swivel to allow the kid to go in and out or remove completely fairly easily.

The fold is quite compact IF YOU REMOVE BOTH SEATS FIRST. There are rubber grips to lift it, but I haven't used them--I found the stroller manageable to lift, but I am not a small person. Putting the seats in and out is a hassle, but easy enough to do. The whole thing fit well inside my Mazda5 with the rear seats down. Several of us commented that they should have made the handle bar adjustable so that it would be even more compact when folded. As it is, it is a foam-covered bar.

The wheels are plastic (not rubber) but seem durable. The stroller pushes well, but lags somewhat due to it's weight. The front wheels swivel, but stick out and I found I was bumping into things or running into walls because I couldn't judge their width.

There is reflective tape on the 5-pt seatbelts and the fleecy headrests are easy to remove for older kids.

There are a few "odd" infant carseats that this stroller cannot accomodate, but it does accept all Graco and Peg products. It comes with one adaptor bar, and you can purchase another through Kolcraft.

Overall, would I buy this product again? It's definitely an head-turner (for those that are stroller-obsessed like me), but it is very heavy and somewhat awkward. I think that once the babes are past a year-and-a-half, and/or over 27 or so pounds, it won't be as useful. Not worth purchasing if you have older babes as you won't get the use out of it. Nor would the resale be great due to the brand name. If you are a small person, you will not be able to lift it in and out of the car. If you are looking for an "off road" stroller or a jogging stroller, this isn't it, but it would be great for long walks. My son (14 months and 24 lbs) sat in it with his friend (12 months and 22 lbs), and they both seemed very happy and even fell asleep in it. I think the price needs to come down a little to make up for the excessive weight and awkwardness before it'll be a big hit.

We were looking for a stroller that would accomodate an infant carseat that wasn't huge. This stroller arrived yesterday, it required assembly but not many tools. The wheels are plastic and not rubber however the seats look durable.

Pros:
I love the way the seats snap on and off so easily but look more secure than a Phil and Ted's attached seat.
The infant adapter is easy to install also.
The options of seating arrangements.
Steering seems to be easy and controlled.
5 pt harnesses on both seats.
Large basket underneath that is accessible, weight limit 10 lbs.
Sun shades seem pretty good.
CUP HOLDERS!!
Handles in back to help you pick it up or for an older child to hold on to.
Folding is pretty compact, can fold with both seats on but more compact with one off--there is space and a strap to secure the second seat in the stroller when folded.
Stand alone when folded.
Adjustable foot rests.
There are little pouches to store the straps (that keep it folded compactly and are used for the universal carseat attachment) which is great.

Cons:
A bit on the heavy side but not unmanagable, comprable to Phil and Ted's I think.
When both seats are facing eachother there isn't a ton of legroom, they will be kicking eachother.
Seats tilt vs. recline--but handle to tilt them is easy to use.

I haven't had a chance to use this much except for around the house but these are intial impressions--overall I think it's a trendy and affordable alternative for a double stroller that folds more compactly then most and isn't HUGE!
I second the suggestion that the handlbar retracted for a more compact fold.

Great options, only a few downfalls, but in the end a great double stroller

I reluctantly bought this stroller from Amazon, as you cannot see it in any of the stores and test drive it. I was pleasantly suprised to find that this stroller has everything I needed. Most of the other reviews are right on!

Pros:
-the incredible # of options it gives you.
-steering and handling is amazing compared to the big graco strollers
the shocks/wheels are very well made and make for a smooth ride for little babies
-the oversized basket and sun shades are great
-the child that rides in the back seat still gets a good view, where as with other strollers they are stuffed into a small back seat with a view of the kid in front only.
-the fabric is incredibly durable and the color is great for little babies and I feel safe pushing it with cars able to see us coming.

Cons:
-The seats are a bit small, but my son is in the 90% for height and weight and he fits just fine at almost 2 years of age. And if you test other strollers such as the graco duo, and the eddie bauer tandem, you will find the front seat to be too small for larger toddlers
-Difficult to fold and VERY heavy, but who doesnt need a workout? If you remove both seats, fold it down, put it in your car, and then put the seats in separately it works and will fit in even the smaller trunks of sedans.
-the infant carseat adapter is goofy. You have to put a strap over the seat (like a seat belt) to secure it. The picture doesnt show that well. My husband built in a bar that allows my Peg Perego carseat to snap in securely without using the belt.
-it is huge, and long, but not much bigger than other full size double strollers. And it is built well and I expect it to last longer.

Overall, it isnt perfect. But I think it was impossible to find the perfect stroller for my newborn and toddler. I dont think there is one out there that gives you all the options that this one has, that folds down to be as small as a single stroller, that will accomodate an infant carseat (of many brands)and that weighs less than 40 pounds.

Heavy, but I don't have to join a gym!

I searched the internet over and over again before deciding on a tandem stroller for my children, who are 11 months apart. I wanted something that would take my Peg Perego infant carrier from my first baby, because I didn't want to spend a fortune on a new carrier on top of a new stroller!

I didn't want a Break-o (aka Graco) because, although I never owned one, my sister-in-law and several friends do, and I think they're cheaply made and very common, both in looks and in function. I wanted something special.

When I found this, stroller, I was very intrigued, and I hemmed and hawed before making a decision. I didn't want to buy a stroller sight-unseen, but I had little choice. This had everything I wanted - it would take my Peg seat, it had great looks, lotf of function, and it wasn't everywhere I looked. I took the plunge, even though reviews said it was heavy and huge.

I agree that this is the Cadillac of strollers - in quality and size. It's huge. My husband calles it the Hummer. Much longer than any other double I've seen, with the exception of the Peg Perego Duette (that's the one where the seats come on and off and it has a lot of configurations, like this stroller. Only difference - no stadium seating and it's about $400 more than this). It was simple as pie to put together - I did it in about 45 minutes. My large 14-month-old fits comfortable, with coat and without, and my infant in her carrier is a happy kid. She can face forward of backward, too.

It's huge, but it fits nicely in the trunk of my 2003 Camry. There's room for some other small things - I can't take another full-size stroller, but I can fit bags, groceries, one of those foling chairs that fits in the bag... And it's not sooo huge and unweildy where I can't lift it out of the trunk and put it back myself. Could it be lighter? Of course! It's mammoth! But it handles beautifully on pavement, in malls, and on grass.

All in all, I am happy I bought it. Will I still get a side-by-side when my newborn is a little older? Of course! But this is a good option (ha - no pun intended) for what it is and a good value, too.

This stroller ROCKS!!!!!

My oldest son was only 6 months old when I found myself pregnant with my second, so a double stroller was going to be a must!!! I purchased a jeep double stroller second hand thinking it was the one I wanted. After my second arrived we took it out for our first test drive - it stunk!!! My oldest son was 14 months when the baby arrived & he's a big boy - 36 inches tall & 32lbs. The jeep stroller wouldn't turn with any ease with both of them in there. It was impossible!!! So we sold the jeep & started hunting for a new one.

I finally decided on this one. I wasn't sure since I had to order it without having seen it or getting to try it out first, but since it can be returned to the store without fees & I got free shipping, I felt it was worth a shot.

It arrived very quickly & I put it together & took it for a test run around the living room! WOW!!! It turned so easily even with the weight of my son! I've been using the stroller for 4 months now & it's great.

It's so versatile with all the options of the ways the seats can go!!!
So far we're still using just the 1 seat & car seat adapter, but I can't wait to try out both seats. All the moms in my mommy group are jealous! I would definately recommend this to anyone. It even works well with the size of my son. I read other reviews before purchasing it & I don't see the problem. My son is very big for his age, but he fits fine & loves riding in it. The seat & leg rest fully recline so he can nap very easily.

There's tons of room in the basket for stuff, has 2 cup holders, & even a small covered compartment for your keys or cell phone. I have a huge diaper bag & have no problem getting it in & out.

The only complaint I have about this stroller is when getting it out & putting it away. You have to take the front seat off to collapse it. It's not difficult by any means, just another step. It's just a little more time to get it out & put it away. I love this sroller for long walks, trips to the mall, the zoo, or a day at the amusement park. It's just not ideal for hopping in & out of the car for quick trips in & out of stores.

This is a large, bulky stroller & a little heavy, but it's wonderful - just write it off as weight lifting!!!

So far, so good

Our children are 17 months and 2 months so a double stroller was a must. I looked at EVERY double stroller in the world and chose this one based on its versatility, and we have not been disappointed so far. The many seat configuation choices are GREAT. Our daughter loves every position we've had her ride in so far. The basket underneath is HUGE and the 2 drink holders is something we've never seen on even more expensive brands. The stroller handles well and we have a Britax infant carrier and it fits in the infant seat carrier portion of the stroller. This stroller really gives you the most bang for your buck! If I had to point out its negatives I would say:

It's a little heavy, but it's a double stroller, what do you expect?
It's a little big...again, what do you expect. We have a Hyundai Santa Fe and the stroller takes up the whole back when we put it in the car...so just beware, I'm not sure it would go into a tiny trunk.

Other than that, we're loving our purchase, we would buy it again.

I really like this stroller

Having 5 children, I've used a lot of strollers. So far I like this one the best. It is the most versitile stroller I have ever used. My only complaint is that it's a little on the heavy side. Also my Seat2Go won't work on it (for my toddler). A buggy board probably won't either, but it does have 2 rubber handles for toddlers to walk next to the stroller.

My twins are 22lbs and 1 yr old and they fit in the seats just fine. Everything on this stroller, just about, is adjustable. The price is very reasonable for what you're getting.

Love my Tandem!

I just got a Contours Tandem with the birth of my second child (first child is 18 months) and I love it so far! I think it is extremely flexible (I love that I can take one kid, move the seats around, use the infant car seat, etc.). So far I have been able to load it into a car fairly easily and LOVE the colors. The fabric is very high quality and easy to clean too!

I bought this stroller even with the negative comments spoken about on Amazon.com and I'm so glad I did! I love my stroller. I only have 1 6 month old child right now but plan on having another w/in the two years so we made the investment into a double stroler.
Some complaints I heard:
1.) It's HUGE! Yes, it's big, but so are all double strolers. I own a Saturn Vue & it fits great in the back & I still have plenty of room to put stuff on top of the stroller & around it.
2.) It's HEAVY! I really don't agree with this. I guess it depends on what you think a double stroller should weigh. I have no problem getting it in & out of my car.
3.) There's no TRAY: I'll have to admit, I was hesitant about this one, but I can snap his toys on the saftey bar so I don't have any issues yet. Maybe when he's a little older & wants snacks. I guess I'll have to give him them one at a time instead of dumping a pile on his tray.
4.) Seats not DEEP enough: This was the other comment I tossed & turned about. My friend's 3 year old sits in the stroller when we go out toghether & she fits perfectly.

Things I love about the stroller: I love the storage room under the seats, I love the harnesses (very easy to use & keeps him in there), I love the reclining options-it's so easy to lay him back so he can sleep, I love the removable seats & the options for which way the baby faces, I love how easy it is to manuver & you don't kick the basket when walking which is what bothered my husband with our previous Graco.

Things I don't like about the stroller: It took me some time getting used to how long it is, having only owned a single stroller, It takes two hands to get it opened & closed (not as quick & easy as a single stroller) and that's about it.

I'd highly recommend anyone with 2 small kids or a family of 1 wanting to have another child soon, to consider this stroller as opposed to buying a single stroller. My girl friends all want this stroller & I get stopped all the time when out with my son & the stroller asking me about it. It's definately high quality & worth the cost.

The options of this stroller are amazing! I love that I can have my newborn in her carseat as well as my toddler in a 'big girl' seat. Great shade coverage, large storage space below, and two cupholders...this stroller has great features.

Also, it was a snap (literally, you just keep listening for the snap sound) to assemble this. My husband and I did it in less than 30 minutes...easy to switch seats, position of seats, etc.

I wish it was a little lighter, but other than that, it's working well for us. We hang it on durable hooks in our hallway so it doesn't take up too much room.

I have 15 month old twins and live in Manhattan. This is the cheap bugaboo. It is beautiful to look at, very easy to push (particularly when you compare with the peg perego duette, which is what I had before this) and the kids love it!

I would NOT recommend it for the folks in the suburbs: it is not a stroller you want to be lifting to put in the trunk of your car everyday. This is just common sense: different strollers serve different purposes..

For a New Yorker who walks all the time, this is, in my opinion, the best tandem made. Yes - Kolcraft could make the seats larger, but I would still purchase this regardless!

I checked into every double stroller out there. The best place to really look...take a trip to Disneyland! Seriously, you'll get to see just about every one there and ask parents about them too - which I did. After all the good and bad and my own toying....I think this was the best. Not only that, it's quite rare to find a stroller where you have the flexibility to turn the seats around or remove altogether if shopping etc. Best things besides moving seats around:
br / -Basket is quite large and is still actually accessible unlike most after getting the kids in
br / -The handle bar adjusts, so it's ergonomic and has the drink holders etc.
br / -Canopy extends quite far for excellent sun protection
br / -Kids front handle bars can open on either side or be removed completely
br / -Both seats recline
br / -Maneuvers very well...it's like the Dyson of strollers
br / -And if you have more than 2 children, the handy-dandy walking handle grips on the side are good for kids too to stay close and feel all grown up
br /
br /I'd say prolly the only 2 cons or things I didn't feel 100% great about is that when folded up it's still kinda bulky...and the foot locks on the wheels aren't the easiest to unlock with your foot. Of course to lock in place a stroller big enough to hold 2 kids and everything else...maybe a heavy duty foot lock is a good thing.

This stroller is definitely worth the money especially for twins. My twins are 14 months old. I was given this stroller from Kolcraft to try out with my twins and asked to give my honest opinions so here goes.
Pros:
1. Major Versatility in positions that the kids can sit. For me this is great. The twins love facing each other, but if one starts getting crabby and fighting, then I can always change the seating arrangement.
2. Stylish. I love the look of the stroller. It is a very sleek look. It makes you feel like one of those trendy moms with a bugaboo.
3. Full seat recline. This is huge for me. I have several other tandems and this is the only one that I have found with dual full reclining seats. This is a great design for people with twins especially because both kids are still young enough to sleep while out.
4. Infant car seat friendly. My twins are no longer in infant seats, but if they were this stroller would be ideal. With the purchase of an additional car seat adapter (only 1 is included)this stroller can be transformed into a double snap n go which is a lifesaver for all new twin moms in the beginning. So it essential eliminates the need to buy 2 strollers. This stroller grows with the children.
5. Great Maneuverability. This is my #1 quality. I have yet to find a tandem that pushes and turns well until now. This one is great. That is huge to me.

Now sadly we move on to the cons.
Cons:
1. HEAVY. This stroller is ridiculously heavy. It takes some real muscle to get it in and out of the car. My twins feel lighter at a combined weight of 40lbs.
2. Folding. Although it is easy to fold, I absolutely hate that you have to take a seat off to fold it down easily. It is not hard, but it is a nuisance.
3. Leg Room when facing is inadequate.
4. Leg rests are not long enough to allow for growth. My twins are only 30" which is short for 14 months and they only have about 2-3 in to the bottom
5. No snack tray/cup holders for the kids.

Overall for me the pros outweigh the cons for the money. I actually wish that I had this stroller sooner. I would definitely stuck with it over the other 4 I have. I hope this helps.

This stroller is nearly perfect. I have a 2yr old that is 32 lbs and 37 inches tall and a 5 month old. This stroller pushes like a dream no matter where your older child is sitting. The suspension is great - I live in The Netherlands and this thing handles cobblestone and other rough surfaces with ease. My kids aren't jostled around and fall asleep quickly in it. My Britax Companion carseat works fine with the adapter and the stroller folds up flatter than some single strollers (if you take the seats off). It is heavy, but hello people - its a double -it's not going to be light. My only complaints are:
br /
br /The handle bar could be narrower and shorter. (I cannot fit it into the back of my Ford Explorer behind the 3rd row seat ONLY because the handle is too long. For this reason I use it walking around town and not for travel.)
br /
br /The seats are too short. My toddler's head comes over the back of the seat (It comes to the middle of his head, BUT he says he is comfortable and the shade fits over his head just fine.)
br /
br /My biggest complaint is the straps/buckle. I HATE them/it. The buckle is hard to buckle and pinches your fingers very easily. The shoulder straps are easy to adjust, but the waist straps are a nightmare - especially if your child is in the seat.

I bought this stroller for my newborn and 2 year old. I am very happy with the construction and quality of the stroller...is very well made and durable. It also looks quite stylish. However, it is very heavy and quite large. It is a great stroller if you will not have to lift, fold and unfold it regularly. The sun shades are large and protect little ones from the sun better than most. The storage basket is large as well and should meet the needs of most parents. The versatility is great and it is very simple to change the positions of the seats. It also handles very well and does not seem heavy while you are pushing it. It manuvers easily. Overall, it is a great stroller...just wish it were not so cumbersome.

I LOVE this stroller. I have a five month old and a 2.5 year old. The stroller fit in the trunk (with nothing else in it) of my Honda Civic and is so easy to arrange the seats. I have a mini van now and its a breeze to get in and out (its heavy, but its a double, what do you expect?). The bucket seats are unfortunately not that accommodating in terms of leg room for my toddler, but that's my only complaint. She still falls asleep in it, so it can't be that uncomfortable! The under basket is HUGE and I love the double cup holder.

I have a girlfriend who spent 1,000+ on her double and it has no cup holders, heavier and overall not as good of an investment. I'd recommend this stroller to anyone looking for a double.

A+++

When I first bought this stroller I just absolutely LOVED it! I liked the fact that my twins could face each other whenever we went out. I've now had the stroller for 2 weeks and I now have to say that this stroller is so poorly made for having cost me this much money! 3 days after I bought it the tray cover on the handle broke off. A week after that both adjustable footrests broke and will no longer adjust. A few days ago, One of the seats broke and now can't do anything but recline so one of my kids has to be in a constant laying position whenever we go out. I was very gentle with this stroller....it's not like I took it off roading or anything, so I can't believe that after only having this stroller for 2 weeks it is now completely nonfunctioning! Do yourself a favor and save your money on a Duoglider or spend a lil more on a Peg Perego, because this stroller MOST DEFINITELY WILL NOT last for as long as your child will need it!

Yes, this DOES push/handle like a dream come true, however that is the ONLY thing it has going for it. It is EXTREMELY heavy and yes large (as all doubles can be). The seats do not come off as easy as people say. One seat can be reclined, but the other can not comfortably (even in the same direction). When they face each other, they are too close and kick each other. The seats are SO tiny. My 21 month old (in the 50 percentile) will not be able to fit in another year. The sun shade is only 2 inches over my sons head and very short (does not protect him much from the sun). The sun shade falls back and sits in the other childs lap. No tray or cup holder option for the kids. An assembly screw does not fit well so the handle is loose. And I have been bitten twice by the cheap seatbelt clasp - they are hard to open and close. I am returning this and going with a Greco Quattro Tour - It is heavy too and is hard to push, but everything else on it is perfect! Please do not make the same mistake that I did!! Go with the easy fold Greco! Kolcraft has a great concept but thats about it.

The stroller is overall great espically if you have more than one kid.I bought it for my unborn child who is arriving in November but my 3 year old and my 2 year old have a blast because they dont see each other or be pulling each others hair LOL so I can shop comfortable and stress free. However it is bulky and hard to transfer to and from your vehicle or in and out of your home. So far it is the best stroller and the price is right!!! I would recommend this for a large family

I really liked this stroller, but I did not like the fact that you have to remove one of the seats to fold it. I thought after a couple of times putting the stroller in and out of my car that it would get annoying quick. The seats are a little on the short side, my twins are already were over the headrest and had to bend their knees to fit. I loved the fact that you can move the seats in diff directions, specially for the kids to face each other and talk back and forth. I ended up taking the stroller back and buying the Graco Quattro Duo Stroller. The Graco is so easy to fold and open. It also has cup holders and snack trays for everyone. It folds a little smaller then the Kolcraft too. Both strollers are the same size when you compare them side by side, and they are both heavy. Also, they both drive very nice.

I love this stroller!! My husband was real "iffy" about it when it arrived because it was so large. He quickly put it together and my 2 year old hopped in immediately. She loves it. I have a 3 week old as well and she fits well in the regular seat laid all the way back to stroll around the neighborhood. He car seat- Baby Trend Flex-lock fits great in the carseat attachment. I cannot wait to go shopping with it! It steers great and so easy to be a double stroller. It is also really easy to close and open. I love how simple it is to change the seats to different positions, it is so versitile! It has lots of leg room for both of them! GREAT PLUS when you have a 2 year old that likes to kick her feet! Plus it has tons of storage underneath.
br /
br /There is a couple of small things they could improve on. One, the stroller is a tad bit on the heavy size, but it does make it feel sturdy. I'm 5'1'' and I have a little trouble lifting it, with the seats attached. I just take them off and sit them in my trunk before closing the stroller up. There also, isn't cupholders on the seats themselves. I would like it better if they did. Overall it is wonderful and affordable!

I have a two year old and a 10 month old. I also own the Graco Quattro Duo. The Graco is very sturdy and the seats are bigger to accomodate a larger child but very difficult to push and steer. The Kolcraft Contours Tandem is much easier to steer and push. The seats are smaller and I have a tall 2 year old I don't anticipate it will fit my two year old next year. Overall a good stroller at a good price point.

I just recently bought this stroller at Baby's R US due to the fact I had a coupon AND they had it IN STORE!!! The Website says ONLINE Only. Well thats a lie. I got it for $191 after tax. I had a $20 coupon off a price of $199 so it was $4 cheaper than Amazon and in person! Sorry that makes a difference to me.
br /
br /I am very impressed by this stroller! #1 The seats have a 40 lb weight limit. My 48 lb 4 year old sat in the back of this the other night and I could hardly tell he was there! He fell asleep while I was visiting friends! I don't plan to put him in it again as the seat seemed to keep tilting itself backwards while he was in it.
br /
br /#2 The shallow seats are not that shallow. My HUGE 4 year old fit just fine!even with the canopy up! My 2 year old fits perfect. She is shorter but not that short and weighs 26 pounds. She LOVES this stroller. Which that is Good as she is the one sharing it with my baby coming in July.
br /
br /#3 The guy at Baby's R Us told me it would NOT fit in my trunk. that was the MAIN key to if I would buy this or not. I could not do that while looking at it online. So I was very happy to find it in a store. He told me unless I owned an SUV or Van it would not fit. I actually have a 2002 Saturn SL-1! It fit!!!! He was impressed. I love my car. LOL. He took the display model and put it in my trunk without a problem. It takes up the entire trunk with a little room to squeeze a few bags of stuff but nothing major. Could not go on vacation and take the stroller. I don't plan to do that. i just plan to take it to the zoo and such. More of a daytrip stroller. No way to fit a suitcase. However if you use small backpacks for each person you could arrange them around it. But I don't plan to try. LOL.
br /
br /#4 This is a great all terrain stroller! It rolls like a dream compared to the other strollers I have had and also borrowed and test drove. My neighbor has a different Kolcraft stroller and it holds her two boys. It is VERY hard to push and doesn't like to turn. She pushed mine with my two kids in it and was in shock at how easy it was. She wanted to trade. I said NO WAY! LOL.
br /
br /I deffinately would suggest this stroller for others with little ones. I would not use it all the time for a larger child like my son but deffinately great for those with a baby on the way and toddler who won't walk. My 4 year old and the neighbors 4 year old LOVE the handles on the side. They think they are "Helping" push when they hold those. HOWEVER it can be VERY annoying when one of them decides to PULL back on it when you are trying to go up hill. my neighbors son kept doing that. That was the only time it got hard to push and I had to make him to let go.
br /
br /The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I can't get it to fold. My husband has to do it. I am 5' 1" tall and can not get enough pull on it and also to reach the middle to pull that up and get it to go. I am also 8 months pregnant so that may be part of it. I will try again when NOT pregnant.
br /The other reason is that my husband put this together as Baby's R Us does not do anymore. The first time we had it together we went for a walk immediately and then came back and folded it and put it away. We went to get it out the other day and the wheel fell off while my husband was carrying out of the house. He said he just didn't get it popped on very well. So keep an eye on that. Make sure you get it on right.
br /and last but not least the only other complaint I have with it is that I can't find a carseat in my price range that matches the RED. I noticed that another brand of strollers sells covers for carseats so you can make it match the stroller. I think it was Bumbleride or something like that. I wish Kolcraft would do that. Also wish they could make a child tray of some sort for this. Maybe even an attachment??? Or a toy bar that has a snack cup and a place for a sippy.
br /
br /Other than those small complaints I LOVE this stroller and would not trade it for the world. I just hope I can fold it after the baby is born. That way I don't have to rely on my hubby to put it away everytime I want to use it.

LOVE IT!!!

I read most of the reviews for Kolcraft Contours Options Tandem Stroller - Ruby and the others similar to it. I am so glad that my husband and I decided to go for Kolcraft. It is true that it is on the heavy side and I'm only 5'3, yet I am able to transfer it in and out of our Hyundai Sonata. So far, I have only used it walking in my neighborhood and the mall. It seems very comfortable for my 2 kids, ages 3 and 1. They both fall asleep on our walks. I was a bit worried that the stroller would have trouble fitting in the small elevators at the mall, but no problems there either. Now this stroller is not meant for short outings. For those, I recommend a single stroller and a baby bjorn or just let the older one walk alongside. This stroller is a must for longer outings since the little ones can fall asleep comfortably. You will not regret purchasing this stroller if you can get over the weight.

We have 2 kids, a 3 year old and a 3 month old and this stroller suits all our needs! We can use it for both kids or just one, and we LOVE that it's lightweight and easy to steer. My son (3 year old) likes riding in the front and even though he's big for his age, he can still fit. I am short and petite, but I have no problem loading and unloading this thing. It was lighter than any other double stroller we tried, and we tried them ALL! The storage basket is awesome, as I can fit my over-sized diaper bag in it as well as tons of shopping bags. The wheels are large and go over curbs and bumps with ease and it turns on a dime. We get stopped frequently and complimented on our stroller and people were amazed that it didn't cost a fortune. It is, by far, the best baby purchase we've made. The downsides we've found in 4 months of use is that you have to take the seat out to fold it down. The push button system makes removing the seats so easy, even that one step is no biggie. Also, another negative, is the stroller seems larger than other double strollers- still minor hiccups when compared to the other features. WORTH IT!!

I thought I had originally written a review, but wasn't able to find it to re-vamp so I'm writing a new one. We had bought this prior to our third child being born because my 2 1/2 year old wasn't quite ready to give up the stroller. My main concern was the head room or lack there of for an average sized child. HOWEVER, after three months of use I have found that we don't even notice the lack of head room. I LOVE this stroller and have actually recommended it to some friends. I have used it with both seats installed and with the front seat and the car seat attachment installed. The versatility allows all of my children to be happy. I've even found that when the baby wants to be carried in the sling, my 2 1/2 year old and 5 year old can both ride in the stroller comfortably and there is no fighting. This is priceless, especially when I'm on my own.
br /I have used this stroller on pavement, in dirt, on grass, pretty much everywhere and it is so easy to maneuver. You do get an extra glut workout in longer grass, but I'm not complaining. It is heavy, but I still have no trouble lifting it into the car (and I'm not very big).
br /I am so very glad that we did not return this as we had originally planned. I'm hoping that over the next several months that we are as happy with it as we are right now.

I love this stroller. I knew before I bought it that it would be kind of heavy so that was no surprise. It was very easy to assemble and is very easy to use. It opens and closes with little effort and the seats are very easy to take off. It manuevers very easily. It is easier to push than the travel system that I had for one child. I have a 4 year old and a 1 year old and they love to sit in it facing each other. The canopies cover the kids well and protect them from the sun. My 4 year old seems to be comfortable in it although she could use a little more foot room. It has plenty of storage space underneath and the storage space is easily accessible. There is even more storage room when you use only one seat. We took a trip recently and had enough room for the stroller, luggage for three adults and two kids, a cooler, and a few other things in the back of my trailblazer. All in all, I am very happy with my stroller.

We bought this after doing some research online for a double stroller.
br /Our biggest concern was handling, ability to use our car seat, and being able to store it easily.
br /We were not disappointed. I will put this in Pros and Cons.
br /
br /Cons: It is not the lightest model out there. So once it is packed up you need to be able to carry 30 lbs or so. There are no cup holders for the kids. We really liked that feature on our single stroller, it is nice for holding milk and snacks.
br /
br /Pros: There are more of these. Even though it is heavier then other models. My wife who is recovering from a C-Section was able to fold it up and put it in the car. The seats easily come off and on for versatile seating arrangements. You can face you kids in either direction, and recline then back with a nice sun canopy. The buckles are easy to use, don't pinch the kids.
br /There is a TON of space underneath, even with the kids reclined back, that was lacking in our single stroller.
br /The stroller handles almost too well. I can steer with one my wife uses 2 just because it moves so easily. We have both been impressed with the ease of driving and turning this stroller has.
br /Lastly, it looks great. The red and black are nicely paired, not too gaudy, and not boring either.
br /
br /Overall, we would say buy this, unless you need something really light.

We really like this stroller for our 22 month old and 2 month old. It is easy to push and the boys really enjoy it. It is a little difficult going up over a curb. It works best if you lift it from the front. It is very easy to fold and the seats come off easy. It works great for our Graco baby carrier.

Fantastic stroller! So easy to push and turn - I take it everywhere! Easiest fold up I've ever seen (though it does take two hands) and I just love the design that allows for my older child to be up front and my infant near me. The backseat reclines enough for my newborn to lay down comfortably and safely during walks, so I don't always have to strap her in her carseat. AWESOME cargo area! A snack tray might be nice, but we don't miss it.

After the birth of our twins (in addition to a 2 and 4YO in the house) I searched for a stroller to transport the newborns - this stroller is sturdy, easy to manage, a bit heavy (but that's what sturdy brings you) and perfect for preemies/newborns since it cradles them fully reclined.
br /
br /No need to spend ridiculous money on those fancy looking strollers - this one looks good and does the job fantastically!

Keep shopping!!

I bought this stroller for my two year old and newborn. I loved being able to change the seats around and it steers like a dream. Then, I had to put it in the car. To fit in the back of our minivan, I had to completely remove both seats. The fold down is awkward and lifting it over the Odysee's lip is nearly impossible. I read one review that had the weight listed at 40 lbs, but the shipping weight is 53 and I think it has to weigh 50 pounds. Our now almost 3 yr old weighs 24 lbs and the seats were not deep enough for her. After 2 months I found that I would rather carry the baby and chase the toddler than deal with this stroller, so I sold it and I am looking for a replacement.

So big it cant fit my 3 year old.

This thing is so huge, it takes up my 3rd row in my mini van when i take it with us. it's seats are also to small to fit my daughters legs (and she is really short for her age) it also takes a litle time to unfold.
br /
br / Good for big trips like the zoo, when the kid gets warn out and wants to nap (kinda)
br /but not something for every day. Be sure you have somewhere to store it.

Good Concept, BUT.....

We bought this intending to use it for our 2-year old and newborn. I thought it was great that you could attach the infant seat. The claim that it "fits most infant car seat brands" is misleading. It does accommodate many brands, BUT NOT all infant carriers within each brand. Unfortunately, this info is not available on the mfr website, but only in the assembly instructions. And our infant carrier (Evenflo On My Way) is one of the car seats that the stroller doesn't accommodate.

Second, you have to remove the rear seat every time you want to fold the stroller. UGH. Once again, this isn't something you learn until you read the instructions.

Third, this thing is HEAVY.

We ended up returning it to the store and are still searching for something else, probably a side-by-side since they seem to be lighter.

So CLOSE to perfection...

We're having twins in 2 months or so and I have been looking for the perfect tandem twin stroller. My criteria?

Must have:
BOTH seats must recline enough for an infant to use without a bucket
Seats much be exactly the same
Must be good for long walks outside
Storage underneath
Must fit in back of van without having back seat (of van) stowed
Must hold child up to at least 3 years
Must have good sunshades

Would be nice:
Seats can be rearranged
Snack trays
Easy to fold

Oh... this stroller is nice. It's a joy to push and steer. It's SO snazzy looking. The seats are the same! They can be moved about! An infant can use them! I can live without snack trays...

The single solitary thing I don't like about this stroller is the seats are just too small. Kolcraft! C'mon! I just don't see this holding a child past the age of 2 - 2 1/2 and that is just not long enough IMO. My 4 year old still hops in his single Graco Quattro now and then. Yeah he's a moose but it works. In the Kolcraft, he was just ridiculous.

So... this stroller... I think it would make me very happy while it lasted. I just couldn't ultimately swallow the drawback of those small seats. If the seats were only bigger, this would be great - affordable, widely available, attractive, durable, useful, etc etc etc. It's so CLOSE to perfection - but the seats are too small.

Ultimately we went with a used (2002) Peg Perego Duette which has all the features I want, pretty much. It's a little harder to fold than the Kolcraft but the seats hold a hefty 4 year old. (They also lay FLAT, which is nice - the Kolcraft seats merely tilt back but maintain their sort of scoop shape - not horrible but not FLAT, either, more like a baby bucket)

You could of course buy this stroller and then move to a side-by-side for later one - or maybe a Graco tandem, which has bigger seats - but I would hate to have to buy a second tandem, and I would hate to only have a side by side to use. I am sure we will get a side by side at some point but I just don't see it being my ONLY stroller.

So my advice if you've got twins to shop for is look for an OLD Peg Perego Duette - the new ones are so expensive plus have this steering wheel I am wary of. The Options Tandem is a good runner up...

The only reason I'm scoring it lower is because it doesn't fit MY personal needs... but I think it's a good buy for other people. This is a very quiet/smooth ride and you can tell that they really took their time and tried to make a stroller that fit everyones needs. It's definitely a stroller of convenience but is somewhat on the heavy side.
br /
br /The only problem I had with this is that my son is 2 but he's the height of a 4-5 year old so he doesn't fit properly in it. The bottom part of the seat is pretty narrow, and the foot rest is in the middle of his calf and you can't adjust it lower, so he looks pretty awkward and uncomfortable in it. Basically he looks like he's falling out of it all the time. But I've seen other people with this stoller and their kids look perfectly comfortable. So I wont say that I don't recommend it to people, I still think it's worth it - but if you're kid is tall maybe think twice.
br /
br /The only other problem I found was with the safety bar. For my 7 month old, the bar goes right in front of her face so if we hit a bump she was hitting her face on it. Easy fix though, for the time being I just leave it open/off for her, when she gets bigger I'll just reattach it.
br /
br /So bottom line, I don't think the seats are the best quality in the world but you're getting so many other convenient options, it's worth it.

the stroller is a little big and heavy since it is built for twin but if you don't mind that, it can be a good stroller. i like the many ways that we can arrange the seats, big and sturdy wheels, strong frame.. However, we wish the manufacturer include the 2nd car seat attachment to the package. I think most of the people who are buying this product have twin babies, it does not make sense to include only one car seat attachment. Plus, there is no way we can buy this car seat out there in the store. No body has the car seat attachment in stock..

I would not reccomend this product to anyone with a small car. It is very large and heavy, but it drives like a cadiliac and has many options. another thing that it does not have, that supprised me was cupholders for each child. It does have 2 for the parents though. All in all I am pleased.

Good stroller, overall. My kids (3 1) likes to be carried by us, but now prefers to be seated in the stroller. Having them facing each other doesn't work; legroom is way too small and they start complaining that one of them is touching the other! It gets kind of wobbly when turning at times, especially when walking on a steep or curvy sidewalk. Storing it in our SUV does take some time, but I can't complain for the price.

This stroller is great, when it's unfolded. However, it is difficult to fold up with both baby seats attached. Once it is folded up, it becomes an extremely cumbersome piece of equipment to lift, carry, and move around. Purchase this stroller if you have a big vehicle or are not planning to do much travel with it. When the stroller is being used for its intended purpose, its amazing. It handles well and has many options, just hope you don't need to take it anywhere you can't push it.

This stroller is very well-designed and easy to use with my two-year-old and two-month-old. It is basically a sturdy frame with upright prongs that you attach the seats or carseat adapter to. Working with the seats is comparable to moving a baby carseat in and out of a carseat base - very quick and easy. I was leery of having to remove a seat in order to fully fold the stroller, but it literally takes only a few seconds. The carseat adapter is well-designed and also very easy to use - you drop the carseat into the frame and secure a belt over it, no snapping or fancy maneuvering involved. The seats are plenty big even for our tall, leggy two-year-old and the five-point harness is secure and comfortable. The footrests on the seats are designed for smaller kids (I'd say 1 and under), but older/taller kids can rest their feet on the support bar that goes across the cargo basket. Folding the stroller down is also quick and easy - the only reason it requires two hands instead of one is that you have to pull release triggers on either side of the stroller at the same time. The large wheels roll easily on ordinary surfaces (asphalt, sidewalks, indoors) and make the stroller seem lighter than it really is. Overall, all the components are sturdy and well-made - much more so than the Graco tandems (or Graco single strollers, of which I've owned several). And the price is very reasonable given the quality, I think.

On the down side - there are no snack trays or drink holders for the kiddos, although there are safety bars that go across their laps. Also, if the child in the back drops or spills anything, it will fall into the cargo basket (I guess this can be a plus or minus depending on whether the kid is dropping a treasured toy or a handful of smashed goldfish crackers). Finally, dang, it is heavy. I know all double strollers are, and this one is not *unusually* heavy for a double, but I was still surprised at how much effort it took for me to get it up off the ground and into the back of our minivan. I am tall and fairly strong - if you are petite and/or unable to lift a bulky fifty pounds, I'd think twice. The weight is the only reason this stroller gets four stars instead of five.

I love this stroller I have a 1 yr old and a 1 week old and this stroller is very easy to push. The only thing I wish were different are the sun shades, my 1 yr old sits up straight and the sun shade is great for her, it keeps her face shaded most of the time, however, my 1 wk old has to recline and the sun shade doesn't cover much of him at all, we are constantly having to take his seat off and turn him the other direction every time we turn a corner. Other than the sun shades not being big enough, we love this stroller, I am very happy with my purchase.

I received this stroller from my mother as a gift after careful shopping and consideration, I do not regret the decision at all. I currently have a 14 lb two month old and a 34 lb 28 month old, both of which fit fine in this sroller. The only complaint that I have is with the sun visor, I wish it went all the way forward, not just stopping where it does. The remedy for me is to turn the baby around. The positive things about this stroller are endless. It handles nicely, it is light, it can be compact if you need it to be, and the versatility of the seats are wonderful. My children and I love to walk (weather permitting) and we live less than a mile from river front walking paths. Since our youngest son is too small for the jogging stroller I just put them both in this stroller facing each other with a big blanket between the two of them, and away we go. There are a lot of strollers out there and a few that have seats that face each other, you can pay a lot of money for certain brands, or pay the price for this stroller becuase it is worth every penny.

A great deal for the price. Very reactive for such a big stroller. My wife loves it for it's versatility. The only downside is that it doesn't fold vere small, but it is a big stroller. My 2 1/2 year old daughter is good size for her age, but she fits in it nicely. A lot of great features for the price. We're very happy with the purchase.

The stroller is awesome. Drives well over rough terrain. It is heavy large. You need a large trunk to carry it in. My only complaint is the bar for the seat. It should be a tray with a cup holder. After looking at the Graco, thinking maybe I should have purchased it.

After much research on double strollers we finally settled with this one. As all the other reviews claim it is heavy, but it is an over all great double stroller. My two girls fit perfect in it, a 2 year old and 2 month old, and there is no problem with height. I love that both seats can recline so they both can sleep but there is limited room. It is very easy to turn. Folding it up is easy and it requires you to remove one of the seats but it is not at all difficult. People stop and ask me all the time where I got it from.

I like this stroller very much. The design is very beautiful and practical. My two-year-old daughter likes it that she will be able to look at her baby brother while they are in the stroller. You don't see the option of turning the seats any way you want them in many strollers. I guess that is what makes this one longer than other duo strollers (it is longer than it looks on the picture). I gave it four instead of five stars because of this. The size makes it a bit hard to manage. Also, the buckles are a little hard to open and close, but other than that I can find no faults.
br /It would have been useful to have in the online information that it fits most car seats / baby carriers. While baby is in the car seat he will be facing me; only after he is able to sit in the stroller seat can he face his sister (the included car seat adapter is not reversible and should be attached in the back).
br /My husband likes it too, he said it looks very sturdy and is like a car (which is as good a compliment you can get from him).
br /Great deal for this price!

I have 3 kids (5, 2 and 4 months old). My 5 and 2 years old love this stroller. The reason I give it 4 stars is because it is not very roomy. If the manufacture make this stroller a little more room, then it will get 5 stars for sure.

This stroller is the best. I have a three year old and a 6 month old. I have had the stroller for about 4 months now and use it all the time. I get stopped by stranger wanting to know where I got the stroller and how well does it work. The only down side to this stroller is that its weighs more than the average stroller and that you have to take one seat off to fold it up. My children are very comfortable in it and it is easy to push. Just make sure you have a large trunk it you want this stroller.

We just recently purchased this stroller on a whim because we fell in love with it in the store while looking at single umbrella strollers. Before purchasing this stroller we used a Graco Duoglide stroller. Here is what made us purchase this stroller.
br /
br /Versatility
br /-Both seats are removable with the push of a button. This gives the stroller four seating options when using both seats.
br /-Also includes a infant carrier bar as another option.
br /-The seats are very adjustable. The foot rest moves from all the way back to flat/level with the seat.
br /-The hand rest/bar for the seats has pivot joints on both ends allowing you to store it flat, undo one side or remove it easily without it sticking straight up in the air or in the way.
br /
br /Storage
br /- The storage bin is huge and runs the entire length of the stroller.
br /-It has two cup holders and a small covered compartment attached to the handle bar.
br /-The straps used for the infant carrier bar are safely hidden inside little bags attached to the storage bin.
br /
br /Structure
br /-This stroller is HEAVY! It weighs 46 pounds and is a bear to haul in and out of the car. This is my only complaint but it is a very minor one.
br /-The frame is solid and can handle any terrain.
br /-It has hard plastic wheels instead of pneumatic wheels. At first we were disappointed but then we remembered our jogging stroller constantly getting flat tires and we thought this would probably happen to us all the time. So the solid tires are actually a plus!
br /-Handle bar has a nice foam grip and is a good height even for tall people. I always used to get sore wrists when pushing our old Graco, but I have yet to experience that with this stroller.
br /-The front tires snap on and off quite easily for even better storage capabilities.
br /-Folding capabilities are a little bit challenging as it is a big stroller and it folds flattest when you remove all of the seats. Still the frame and the separate seats fill up the back of my minivan.
br /
br /Great as a single stroller
br /- By removing the seat closest to the handle this stroller becomes a fantastic single!
br /-Lot of storage since the bottom bin is completely open and available for holding everything.
br /
br /Overall Thoughts
br /We love the stroller even though it is so HEAVY and big. I use it more as a single than a double right now but it works great as a double too! Hands down the best stroller we have ever owned.

Hesitant at first but LOVE it!

I have a 2 yr old (about 25 pounds) and a newborn. I didn't get a double stroller at first but decided when my newborn was about 2 wks old. It works great for trips to the zoo, mall, walks outside on sidewalks and trails. Now my baby is 3 months and loves facing his big sis. She loves to face him and/or sit in the front facing out. We have the graco snug and ride car seat and it fits into the adapter but unless the baby is sleeping I prefer to use the stroller seat (it looks comfortable and feels more secure then the car seat in the adapter). The foot rest isn't great for my 2 yr old but she doesn't seem to mind. The sun shades are great. The stroller is easy to fold up. At first it seemed too much to remove a seat to fold up but it's not hard once you do it a few times.

this double stroller is great. it fits through any doorway, it is easy to manuever and doesn't take 10 people to turn left or right. the seat options are so cool. we have had this stroller for 6 months and still haven't tried out all the options for both babies. the storage at the bottom is huge.
br /another plus is that you didn't need a ton of tools to put the whole stroller together. if i can remember correctly, i only needed one screwdriver to put the cup holder onto the stroller.
br /the price was so good for the stroller. such a great value.
br /the color is fun too - a good red and the styling is nice.

My husband and I bought this for my baby sister after the birth of her second child. She has a 2 year old at home se we thought she could use a double stroller for more convenince. We searched many different strollers and then settled on this one. My sis loves it. She says that the baby car seat (which is a different brand) sits prefectly on the stroller. It is easy to use and the 2 year old loves the fact that she can sit in front. Her only complaint is that she had a c-section, so it was a little heavy to pick up for her. Other then that she says very easy to use, very sturdy. She was worried that it might tip over if the baby wasn't in it, but she says it stays level with no problem. She highly reccomends it and so do we!!!

I bought this stroller as a present for my daughter's 2 year old and newborn to use. The 2 year old loves it...he does't fight with her when she uses it and the older brothers will push it without feeling "girlie".
br /It is large and does take time to load and unload into a van....this would not fit in a small car trunk....
br /Once in use the wheels do not lock up and being able to postion the seating for the comfort of both children is a plus. The full storage basket handles the diaper bag and extras just fine. The cupholders are nice due to the flying sippy cups at times.

Overall this stroller has been great for us! Pros:
br /
br /It's very versatile, which is nice - my twin daughters can ride forwards, backwards, or even facing each other. Turning the seats is very easy, in case the sun is in baby's eyes.
br /
br /You can use your car seats (we have Graco Safeseats which are supposed to be compatible, but haven't actually attached them) or the infant seats provided.
br /
br /It turns on a dime and is the most easily maneuvered double stroller I tested (and I tested a lot of them).
br /
br /It holds two cups and has a spot for keys/change. The basket underneath is large and holds everything you need.
br /
br /
br /Some minor cons:
br /
br /I wish this stroller was a little more lightweight. But, it does make for a smoother ride since it's sturdy. I don't keep it in my car since it's heavy - it stays in our entryway for neighborhood walks, and bought a snap n go for our car.
br /
br /I wish the bonnets weren't attached in the back so that you could pull them forward more. The sun is always getting in my daughters' eyes. Yes, they are only attached with Velcro, but if you detach there is a flap that hangs down where baby is.
br /
br /A very minor con is the buckles are very difficult to loosen/tighten.

I just love this stroller. It is stylish, holds everything we need at the bottom. easy to push. I do wish it had the cup holders for the babies though. I love the fact you can use almost any infant car seat with this stroller.
br /
br /It takes up most of the trunk in our scion xb but lets not forget it is a 2 seater and it has got to be bigger to accomidate a second child. So that being said the size really is not a negative thing. it is heavy!!! at least to me it is.
br /
br /We recieved the kolcraft contours single seated stroller last year when i was pregnant with my first child and we loved it so much we chose to stick with a brand we liked so we bought his one in ruby. WE are not disappointed, It is definately high quality and we recieved compliments on it when we took it out.

I bought this double stroller for my daughter. She already had a double stroller but only the back seat leaned back. She has a 2 yr old that she had to have in the front so the newborn could recline in the back. The stroller was very awkward and hard to steer because of the weight of the 2 yr old in front. This stroller is great, whether you have the 2 children face each other or one in front of the other, both seats recline and it is very easy to maneuver!! My daughter says it's the best double stroller EVER!!!

My husband thought i was wasting money when i purchased this stroller. We have a 11 month old and a 1 month old. I needed something that i can use with the infant base. I read lots of reviews for over 4 months on different websites and i heard alot about the size and the weight. I decided to take a chance and buy in anyways, I wouldnt buy a different stroller! The weight is fine as long as your not petite. The size is alittle larger for a car, but fits great in a SUV. My husband loves this stroller more than i do. He even told me he is happy i purchased it. Its so easy to push. Going over large bumps and even walking through the stores with small walk ways it so easy! I love the fact that i change the position of the seats too! My 3 year old has found a way to hang out on the side and ride along(but she makes it heavier) I dont care what all the other reviews say, this is the best stroller! AWESOME PRICE TOO!

This stroller rides like a dream--very smooth, easy to maneuver and push. Heavy to lift? Oh yes, if you need to haul it in and out of your car, but removing one or both seats will make it a bit easier to manage. However, the quality is very good and unlike many of the other strollers out there I've "test-driven", for the price, you just can't get a better-made product. I love that this stroller has handles on the sides so that my toddler has a good place to hold on when walking besides me. As I live in Florida, I really appreciate that the sun visor comes down low and adjusts. The storage basket is a decent size too. Love the cup holds and a place to put your keys or cell phone. Also, Kolcraft customer service is very good. My stroller arrived with a piece of plastic that must have snapped off one of the seat belts during shipping. They promptly sent me a replacement belt.

If you're looking for a double stroller that will hold two infant car seats, there aren't a lot of options out there. Thankfully, this stroller fits the bill perfectly. To make it work with two infant seats, just buy an additional car seat bracket. (One of the brackets does need to be removed when folding the stroller ... a minor hassle.) We use the Baby Trend Flex-Loc car seats, and they work together well. The colors even work together -- our car seats are "Silverado," and the red trim matches the red on the stroller.
br /
br /Another plus -- the stroller folds well enough to fit into the trunk of our Honda Accord, with a little room to spare ... I'm able to buy a cart load of groceries and pack everything in the trunk around the stroller. One bonus -- there is enough room in the bottom of the stroller that I can actually do some lighter shopping with just the stroller. (Usually, I pull a grocery cart behind me ... and the stroller steers well enough that this is not a problem, either.) The stroller is heavy when I'm hoisting it into the trunk ... but I'm a short, petite woman, and I am able to manage it.
br /
br /Our boys are now five months old and weigh about 17 pounds, and when we use the seats that come with the stroller (as opposed to our car seats), the fit for them is good. It seems at this point that they have plenty of room to grow and still fit well in the seats. The construction of the stroller is sturdy.
br /
br /We love that the seats can be positioned so that the boys face one another, or both face forward, or both face me. Overall, a great purchase!

Our second child came as a bit of a surprise, so we only had about 8 months to adjust and make plans. We looked at a number of two-child stroller options. The most common that we saw, the side-by-side strollers, were just too wide and difficult to manage, with parents often blocking whole isles and walk ways. So, we decided a tandem was the best option.
br /
br /We went to Baby-R-Us and saw the Countour-Options stroller before any other. It was big and red, so who could miss it. We had the same response as anyone else:
br /
br /UPSIDE: configurable, VERY maneuverable, and room enough for stuff.
br /
br /DOWNSIDE: big, heavy, took a little to figure out how to fold, and you need to remove the back seat to collapse it.
br /
br /But, it's not unmanageably heavy, and how light can stroller that's supposed to support as much as a combined 80 pounds of kids, plus your stuff actually be? Also, if you are using the rack for the baby basket car seat, and you put the rack in back, you can collapse the stroller to within an inch of its fully folded form without removing the rack. Just fold the collapsible sides up. But, really, it's such easy on and off with the seats it's not an inconvenience to remove a seat anyway.
br /
br /Since we first saw the Contour Options stroller, we have seen several parents with "Phil and Teds", which is one of those froo-froo labels like "BOB" that costs $400-$700+. It is a jogging stroller that adds a little sloping sled to the back so your baby can lay down or your older child can slide in like angled luggage. It is small, and light weight, but one child will always be slid in where he/she can't move much or see, and there's no room for anything in it. We also looked at the Graco Quattro just before we bought, and it was a close second, but wasn't configurable, so we decided that, for the money and what it can do, the Contour-Options is the best for us. So far, so good, it's been easy and fun to use.

This is the best in a long line of strollers we've owned!

My husband and I have purchased at least 6 strollers in the past 6 years. We have 3 children ages 1 to 5 and another one on the way this winter. Our old double stroller was just not convenient enough for us to use regularly, so I did some extensive research and came across the Kolcraft Contours Options. It is an amazing stroller. We are able to fit both our stroller and our groceries in the car at the same time (quite the novelty for us!) and especially when we pull the seats off, the frame is not too awkward or heavy for me to maneuver in and out of the car while I'm pregnant. We can face the kids any way we want, and when we go to the park, I put our 1 year old in one of the seats, and leave the other seat off so we can store our cooler and supplies. It is fantastically well built, easy to assemble, and the kids love it too. If they ever make a four seater, I'll be first in line! Also, it is really easy to push; even with a full load I can push it over grass without a problem. It has nice features like cupholders without being overburdened with too much stuff or too many pieces to keep track of. It's really easy to keep clean, and it even fit in our vehicle along with all of our stuff for a week long vacation. It has quickly become an indispensible item in our household, and the price was extremely reasonable. I would highly recommend this stroller, it is the first one we've purchased that I get excited enough about to tell others how great it is!

This was a gift to our grandaughter for the upcoming birth of our second great grandaughter. She said this stroller is the Rolls Royce of all strollers she has seen or owned.

Terrific for twins!

I love this stroller. I have 4 month old twins so we purchased an additional car seat attachment (it only comes with one car seat attachment, but two do work together). It holds our two Grace Snug Ride car seats perfectly. We have taken this stroller hiking, through a farm, and to the mall and it handles all the terrain great. I love the ease of the steering (which is why I preferred this one over the Graco Duo Glider). Also, because you can take off the two included seats to use the car seat attachments, it makes it a very stream lined and lightweight stroller. The seats do not remove on the Duo Glider so it's a heavy contraption when put together.
br /
br /I also love the modern look of this stroller. Everyone loves it and assumes it is an expensive European model.
br /
br /We have a compact car and the folded stroller actually fits in the trunk so it is great for that aspect.
br /
br /Over all, it is a great stroller and we are so happy we have it for our twins!

This stroller is way too heavy. My husband literally threw his back out moving it from the car to the house. Also the seats are not big enough for my child. She is very tall and she can ride it in but not comfortably. Plus with an infant seat attached there is no room to recline her chair. My advice is keep looking and good luck!

Huge but Cool.

Okay, I have 3 children and I am expecting Twins. AHHHH!!! Anyhow, my oldest is handicap and in a Wheelchair so the back of our Vehicle is already pretty full and there was no way that this stroller was going to fit. I have to admit if you can get past the sheer size and overwhelming firetruck red, it is awsome. I however returned it and purchased a Graco Quattro Tour Duo. Still big but not as. Good luck to all who purchase this just beware of the size and keep in mind that this stroller is best for the parents of one or two children not 5 =) !!!!

We bought this stroller online before any physical stores carried it regularly to try out, so we went by other reviews. In the 6 months we've had this stroller we have used it maybe a handful of times for our 2 year od and our now 6 month old. I would have liked to have used it more, but the thing is so big and unweildy that it's just generally moreffort to get it in and out of the minivan than it's worth.
br /
br /That being said, there are some nice features. The seating flexibility is great, the ride is airly smooth, the big basket underneath is fantastic, having cup holders is cool, but we've had a couple of accidents with stuff easily bouncing out of the shallow cupholders.
br /
br /Some of the issues we've had with it are: hate having to take a seat off to fold it up, hate having to struggle to get it in and out of the car, our two and a bit year old is now getting too tall (her head brushes against the sunshade, and she is in the 50th percentile for height), feels SOOOOO long when pushing it, the wheels come off sometimes when loading it in and out of the car, and, did I mention, it's really heavy!
br /
br /I like it better than the strollers that make it impossible for the child in back to see, but I guess that comes at a price! We have now bought a Joovy Groove 2 and prefer it hugely, although it doesn't offer the carseat attachment. Anyway, I think there are better, lighter options out there if you don't absolutely NEED the flexible seating.

three major issues

I returned this stroller because b/c of 3 major issues:

1. the car seat must be strapped in after snapping it into the adapter, and the adapter does not hold the car seat unless it is strapped in VERY tightly which is difficult to do. Our car seat almost slipped out on several occasions while walking on a bumpy path. The strap just adds one more step to the process of loading the kids in the stroller.

2. The big kid seat(s) must be removed in order to fold the stroller flat enough to fit it in a standard trunk - I have a VW Passat with a large trunk and it barely fits. Again, one additional step in loading the kids into or taking them out of this stroller.

3.The seat is too shallow and too short for my 30lb toddler. He barely fits and if he grows any taller he won't fit at all. This stroller is not designed for kids over 2.

This stroller is HUGE- much bigger than it looks in the pictures. Heavy, and big. I put it together and never even put the kids in it. Might be great for wide open spaces but there is no way I am comfortable lugging this around for day to day errands and outings or getting it in/out of the car. It takes us the entire back trunk of the Toyota Rav 4. I am average size and you should be an olympian to maneuver and get this thing through doorways. I'm returning it.
