Although the price is hard to swallow, this stroller is really awesome. The instructional cd is great in getting through all the features. It is unbelievably easy to fold and unfold, as well as use with our peg perego carseat (we bought the bugaboo adapters). We simply click our carseat onto the adapters. It is also very easy to get around tight corners which makes using it in stores a breeze. The wheels absorb almost all sidewalk bumps and our son sleeps peacefully through all our walks. It is lightweight, but feels very sturdy when in use. It truly is a beautiful and simple design, but also works as well (if not, better) as it looks.
worth it

Yes, the price is steep, but if you are a person who loves to walk, then this stroller is worth it. I spent 30 hours researching strollers, reading everything I could, asking friends with children for advice. Finally, the Bugaboo won out. It maneuvers beautifully, making walking a true pleasure. It can turn on a dime, which helps out hugely in stores and small cafes. It even motivates me to get out of the house and walk more often (sometimes two or three times a day!), benefitting me in the post-pregnancy weight loss area. A friend with a Peg Perego is switching to the Bugaboo, because as she says, the PP is like trying to walk a house on wheels. The Bugaboo is more like a Porsche.

Pros
br /one hand steering ,
br /
br /Cons
br /large and clumsy, akward 2 piece fold, not very stable, tipsy hard to fit inside small car
br /
br /The Bottom Line
br /Avoid it if you have -back trouble
br /-limited on space
br /-small car
br /-busy -child older than 1 yr (too small for tall kids)
br /
br /I was so exciteed about this stroller bought it after reading hip reviews and also liked the trendy style.Every Baby magazine I read protrayed this stroller as the coolest looking stroller on earth and used by all celebrities. But soon after I got it i was not very happy....
br /
br /This stroller is HUGE !!and very clumsy,It has a akward 2 piece fold, and is not very stable and tipsy It is very hard to fit inside small car.It would hardly fit inside my BMW 330i which is NOT a very small car! This stroller Is much BIGGER than it looks in pictures.
br /To inform you this stroller is NOT for you if you have back trouble or had an epidural recently as it can cause severe back aches from bending over to fold it and also hard to open chassis which takes a full 5 mins sometimes to open while standing on the street with baby crying inside the car!
br /I ended up returning it within a week because I did not think it was worth the money.
br /Although this stroller is projected to be very light weight and user friendly it is a complete pain to open and store .It weighs 26lbs also which is not very light weight in my opinion My friends also thought it was too large to steer inside stores and malls. In fact I got more annoyed looks of store owners than compliments....because the tires are HUGE
br /If you need a stroller look at strollerqueen.com where there are tons of reviews for other better strollers which are much cheaper than this one and have other great features.Think twice before buying this one.Returning it is also hard as most stores will charge a 15% restocking fee if you return it.
br /Honestly I tried to love this stroller but I could not...If you have a HUGE Suv ,a strong back and can lift weights and walk a lot ourside I can see buying this stroller would be an option as it steers very well. However if you are limited on space, looking for a light weight stroller or hope to take it to the mall I would suggest passing on this one as it is simply a hassle to put together and although it is very very good looking stroller I don't think it is worth $729 for looks alone...

Everytime I start to write a review for the Bugaboo, it turns into a novel. I will just bullet point the high low-lights and help you to decide.
br /
br /Pros: 1. Definitely the coolest looking, best-designed stroller in your play group. People WILL stop you and ask about it. 2. Integration of Graco/Peg car seat via adapter is great. 3. Pram/Seat features are fun handy as child grows. 4. Handle tilt, two-wheel mode, reverse-facing options, brakes, tires, suspension are all top-notch design features, while mosquito net, rain-shield, and optional bag-hangers, diaper bag, foot-muff, umbrella all come in handy albeit pricey.
br /
br /Cons: 1. It still takes up considerable space in your car. We have a wagon, so we have the room to give. 2. When collapsing, you have to balance the handle, lest it gets scratched up. 3. Storage capacity. Americans require storage for everything including drinks for Mom and baby, Europeans don't.(Remember, they don't really care about cup-holders in their cars. We require 2-3 per person) 4. Most obviously, price. This pram is pricey.
br /
br /We bought the Bugaboo and have noticed we do walk more with our baby. For that reason alone, it has been worth the price. The added looks and cache are a bonus.

My daughter is now 16 months old this has been the only stroller we have needed. Some friends of ours are on their third stroller, with a baby the same age. So, the price is well worth it. Everything is great about this stroller, just like everyone said. But, I do have a couple major complaints. There is no cup holder for the adult no cup holder for the child. With my daughter being older now, a snack tray would buy me some extra time. I ended up buying an after market snack tray for my daugher, which works ok. I also bought the attachable diaper bag, cause else there's no where to put anything. It is a great stroller I would buy it again.
just about worth the price

i do like this stroller. i wasn't crazy about spending the money on it and was concerned that it was more of a status symbol than anything else. but the truth is, it is actually very nice and worth the extra money if you have it. we used to have a maclaren which we did like but was still inconvenient in tight places like restaurants or subways - it's very good for a city dweller.
Pricey, but definitely worth the money.

After foolishly purchasing a heavy travel system by graco before my daughter was born, I realized after few days of using it how big, bulky, uncomfortable and unattractive it looked. As a first time parent I didn't understand how important strollers were and the wide range of quality (and not-so-good-quality) strollers that were out on the market. When my friend first mentioned how she loved her bugaboo stroller, I thought she was crazy for spending $800 but I couldn't help but to fascinated with this sleek, cool-looking stroller. After hours and hours of research and convincing my husband (he thought I was crazy for even thinking about purchasing this stroller) I finally made up my mind to purchase it...and to this day I do not regret my decision. I don't think its too big or bulky and I do not think the 2 part fold system is that hard to do. When I was reading about this product online, most parents recommended it for 'city-dwellers" claiming that it is a hassel to fold and unfold but as a suburban mom who is constantly in and out of the car, I do not think this stroller is that difficult to use. Yeah you do have to bend over at times to open it but how bad is a little bending over for the comfort of your baby as well as yourself, the driver? Plus my husband and I now have a little "trick" of opening the stroller right out of our SUV which doesnt require too much work. The basket is not too small (contrary to some parents' claims) and I've never had a problem fitting my medium-sized diaper bag, shopping bags, lunch box, etc. I love how it has the brakes right on the handlebar and the forward and rear-facing feature which was a MUST for me. The ride is unbelievable and smooth...not to mention its cool design. No other stroller out on the market beats this one and if you can afford it, definitely go for it. I decided to save money on other baby things and splurge on a stroller since it'll be like a car that our baby rides in every time we're out. We're now expecting a second baby and we definitely can't afford another bugaboo so we're planning to purchase a more light-weight umbrella stroller for our 17-months old daughter and pass this on to our new addition. But its been good for us and our first daughter and am sure that it'll last without a problem with our second one as well. And my husband now loves this stroller as much as I do.
Best Present / Investment after 3 YEARS!

My FIRST REVIEW was in JAN 2006: My friend bought us ours as a shower gift. (Great Friend!) Due to the price tag we thought she had lost it at first. However, this Bugaboo has been the best gift and investment to date. Our daughter went into the bassinet at two days old. I was able to easily wheel her around our home and get so much accomplished. Once she grew out of the bassinet she easily took to the seat since it has three different positions and the seat looks like it is designed to the natural curve of a baby - toddler's spine. Looks very comfortable, wish they had a seat like this for adults! Our daughter just loves it and her Bugaboo is the only thing that can calm her down if she's not feeling well or is fussy for some reason. She's now 19 months and loves to take her daily naps in it. The only problem is we're not going to know what do when she grows out of it since it has such a soothing affect on her! Even my husband said now that he knows what this Bugaboo can do he wouldn't even blink at paying its price now.
br /
br /
br /UPDATE May 06, 2007: With my daughter now turning 3 I'm now adding to my original review... She still uses her Bugaboo every day for her naps (only way I can still get naps out of her) or when she's not feeling well the Bugaboo soothes her. Plus when you realize other parents upgrade their strollers at least once if not twice the cost for the Bugaboo is actually quite good. My daughter is also tall for her age yet at 3 she's still comfortable! Thus far it's actually cost less than $1 a day! So don't let the price detour you. This is such a great investment... I can't say enough how happy and easy the Bugaboo has made our lives!

It was the best buy for our baby. I'm so happy we bought it. It is lightweighted, practical and it has a magnificent design. It is very easy to handle, even grandma can fold it and has no problem using it. The accesories which come with it are so useful and well thought, e.g. the mosquito net. The only flaw I see is that you'll have to buy a car seat and the adaptors as well.

br /Expensive, yes, it is worth every penny! Our 3 month old sure loves it and so do we!

We love the Bugaboo. It maneuvers around fantastically and has great features that allow you to switch the handle over, tilt the seat, and quickly pop it into the trunk and go. Our baby loves this stroller and it should fit her at least until the age of four. We live on the park, and the gentle ride and smooth suspension it provides makes it our favorite baby accessory. The rain shield is a life saver! We have had it up and down and all around a golf course and would say it was worth the money. We also got the car seat adaptor for our Graco car seat. We wish that Bugaboo made a car seat, we would have gotten that too. We get lots of feedback on this stroller from other parents who mostly comment "ours doesn't do that" and "I want one!"
br /Hope this was helpful. Best of luck to all new Moms!

When my husband first heard about this stroller, he absolutly refused to even concider it. The price completely turned him off and he vowed that he would never spend that much on a stroller. When we were in the store picking out strollers, I was looking at the bugaboo (out of curiousity, there was no way I was getting it at that point) and a shopper came over to me and told me it is a terrible stroller because it is hard to open and close. We ended up getting the peg perego venezia because i wanted a lot of features, and I was willing to suffer with a larger stroller if it had good features. I used the peg perego for 6 months and I hated it. It has terrible meneuverability and is an extremely inconvenient stroller (and it wasn't cheap either!) so I finally convinced my husband to take a look at the frog. We bought it and now he doesn't know how he ever used anything else. He loves it and he tells all our freinds about how worth while a purchase it is (if you can afford it). It is so easy to open and close and I am able to do it while holeding my daughter - its tricky, but once you get the hang of it, its a breez! The frog has a reversable handle, and i cant tell you how many times that came in handy, at resteraunts, on the train, at the doctors office - sometimes you need that handle out of the way! The seat is reversable, which is great for keeping the sun out of your little one's eyes and also its great to have the option of whether to looka tyour baby or to let your baby look at the world. The menuevarability is unbelievable, it goes over bumps, snow, ice, sand- everything! It is like the SUV of strollers.
br /If you were hesitant before, I hope thsi convinced you - it is an expensive stroller but worth every penny!

We purchased this last year in November from a local retailer in Tucson, AZ for about $900. We have not had a single problem and we use it daily for walks all over our community. It rides soft for our son, we can easily switch positions of the seat, it folds into the car, goes on the plane, and is light enough that my wife doesn't have any issues using it. From the pines in Flagstaff, to the creeks in Sedona, to the beach in San Diego, to the concrete hills in San Francisco, this stroller has been worth the purchase.
br /
br /On a side note, we love to take this thing shopping at the mall because we can fit most of our items under it. We ended up purchasing the backpack from Bugaboo that straps to this and we're good to go! I hope you love it too.

Everyone thought I had lost my mind when I told them how much I was going to pay for a stroller when my first baby was coming. No one thinks that now. We used the bassinet anytime we were away from home for her naps, just rocked the stroller until she fell asleep and locked the wheels when she passed out. And we never had to use an icky diaper change station, we just changed her in the stroller. I loved being able to see her little face when we were out and about and now she likes to face out to see the world. The locking small wheels are a great feature for trailing and makes using it effortless. We also use it as a highchair at restaurants. The maneuverability is terrific and quick. Perfect for someone like me that's often impatient getting around. I also like the fabric of the frog over the chameleon. The fleece of the chameleon shows pet hair and lint, the frog is more like a nylon backpack and you can easily lay a blanket down is you're seeking a softer surface. I've been using this stroller for 21/2 years and I truly love it. We are having another baby in 3 months and I will be purchasing the wheeled board for my toddler and also another frame so I can easily switch between the bassinet and the regular seat as needed. For the price I wish it would have come with 2 frames (if you purchased the bassinet with it) but I have no complaints otherwise. Even my husband loves it and no one is making fun of me anymore :)

I never would have spent this much on a stroller before my son was born- had no clue what i needed so i bought a pliko. big mistake! huge piece of expensive plastic. The bugaboo is AMAZING.
br /
br /PROS
br /
br /Huge back tires make ride BEYOND smooth (and make it SO easy to bump up/down curbs)
br /huge canopy (can't see it working for older toddler tho-but great for baby)
br /GORGEOUS (yes it is a fashion accessory)
br /Black never gets dirty and it washes well
br /LOVE the flipping handlebar- i flip it countless times a day when the sun get in my babys face
br /only weighs 16lbs (you can definally tell)
br /takes 10 seconds to throw in trunk
br /Great harness
br /Bassinet (0-3 months then they get bored)
br /Full recline like a bed
br /Manuverabiliy (turns on a dime really)
br /
br /
br /
br /Cons
br /
br /Takes a while to learn how to fold (yes i almost cried once)
br /Two piece fold (no way around it)
br /Can't see this stroller working for a 3 or 4 year old (but why would you put a child that big in a stroller anyways? I think it looks silly to see 4 year olds in strollers IMO)
br /Cost
br /
br /Get the bugaboo cupholder its worth the $25 as it holds up to anything and looks sleek. The accessories are pricy and mainly not worth it except for the cupholder. Get a bundle me to go with it to make your chilly strolls a breeze. and YES there is a BREEZY canopy made to go with it, i had to get mine straight from bugaboo as it seems to be sold nowhere but it does exist. It is only in silver and needed for the hot months. Wish it came in other colors like the cameleons.
br /
br /Do you need the cameleon for an extra $150? Only if you really need some color- I love the sleekness of the all black frog. It is also lighter (4 lbs lighter).

I bought the frog before my baby was born because I heard amazing things about it. Once my child was born, it proved far too bulky to place in the backseat of my subaru outback (forget shopping with this item), yes this is a car designed to haul a lot, so I was shocked. I ended up purchasing a universal car seat carrier so I could place her carseat in it. I barely use the bugaboo because whenever I go shopping with the frog, there is no place to store bags. (I love the storage in the snap and go!) Even after I got a bag clip from buy buy baby, the stroller tips over if you clip anything more than a small purse on it. It's very flimsy. Additionally, the basket underneath is a joke. If you put anything other than a bottle in it, it drags to the floor and the fabric hits the wheels. It is very hard to steer when this is done. On the bright side, for the first 3 months, we were able to stroller her to our house of worship and to parks while she would sleep away in the small bassinet. I wish the bassinet had a seat belt to secure her in though. I felt it was unsafe to take her in stores this way. (Maybe that's just crazy overprotective me.) However, once she got to be 13lbs, we had to use the seat feature (she wanted to sit up and explore the world when not sleeping and well her feet started to hit the end of the bassinet). It's too hard to take the fabric on and off, so this became a permanent decision. If you want the flexibility of moving between the bassinet and seat, get a second seat frame on ebay. Don't pay more than 140 for that. Forget buying a cupholder (it doesn't come with one), because if you do, it will make it virtually impossible to shop in any clothing stores without bumping into things between the aisles. Also, it tilts at an angle that you would have to have a closed bottle in it and hope it doesn't fall out. The seat has a weirdly placed folds below the knees of a 4 month old and it is uncomfortable for her. The straps are good, but she doesn't have any head support. Additionally, the weight limit on this stroller is incredibly low for the price. My child is now 6 months old and I am noticing it has a pretty narrow seat. I plan on buying a maclaren quest or techno (55lb weight limit) to use daily and just use this one for occassional walks. It does work well on grave, but realistically, I rarely go on gravel. I live in the suburbs and we have side walks. Although, you could easily hike with this or jog. After test driving about 30 strollers in buy buy baby and babysrus, I decided the UPPA is what I should have bought. Sure it might not be the popular choice, but it has a much bigger basket, folds in one piece (not taking up my entire trunk), and seems to be more sturdy. I think for the next kid I will get that. Oh and don't buy it in black, it looks nice, but it attracts heat and well on a hot summer sunny day, that is not what you want your kid to have to deal with. Not worth the price!!!

I've had this stroller for three years now. I've used it with both my kids (now 3 and 1). Wouldn't buy it again. Here are my thoughts
br /
br /Cons
br /* Only fit my son until he was 2. He is 3 now and 35 lbs and there is no way he would be comfortable in it.
br /* Two pieces are VERY annoying. Getting this in and out of the car for a quick trip to the bank, or a run into the store gets old fast! It was also cheaper to buy another stroller than to buy the travel bag to go with this thing if you plan to travel with it on an airplane.
br /* Folded it is BIG. I've got a Passat Wagon and it takes up 1/2 the trunk.
br /* Stroller will tip over easily. Front wheels easily cause stroller to tip. If you hit a hole in the road, you could easily dump your kid out of the stroller.
br /* Don't try pushing this thing in the snow. If you live in a cooler climate where it snows, small amounts of slush will make your stroller unpushable because all the slush clogs up in the areas above the wheels.
br /* Storage space is VERY hard to access when you have the bassinet attached, is OK when the baby seat is being used.
br /
br /Pros
br /* On even payment, pushes and turns like a breeze
br /* If you are in to Style you WILL get comments and looks when pushing this thing, but I personally didn't like this. I bought the stroller because I thought I was buying the best performing stroller on the market since I walk ALOT. I have since learned this is not true - there are MUCH better options out there and I always felt like pushing it made me look like a snob.
br /* Baby sits high and upright - my daughter likes that she can see what her brother is doing. If you push it next to the table, they are close to table height.

We got this stroller because we wanted something that would last from birth to beyond toddler phase. We live in the city so it's far more common for us to walk than drive. I can say that it's very durable and well designed with the exception of not being able to collapse one handed. It is actually too big, even broken down, to fit in the storage area at our daycare so we ended up getting an umbrella stroller. So much for my own stroller for all needs hope. If collapsiblity and space aren't a constraint, this is a wonderful stroller.
I love this stroller!

Our daughter is 7 months old now, and I absolutely love this stroller. We have used this stroller every step of the way and she is now in the toddler seat since she has outgrown the bassinet. Sure, the stroller seems expensive - but when you look at what you get, it isn't really. We never bought a bassinet or moses basket, we used the bugaboo with and without the wheels in the house. As far as I can tell, this is the only stroller you'll ever need. It was a little hard to fold in the beginning, but once you get used to it, it's quite easy. You also have an initial break-in of the product. It is a little big when folded, but ultimately no bigger than any other travel system. We used it with the Graco Snug Ride Infant car seat and extra adapter. That was great as well! I'm not sure why people are giving it such bad reviews. This stroller maneuvers great for a full size stroller. Almost as good as my mom's Maclaren umbrella stroller. We even use it as a high chair in restaurants. We just fold the handles down!
Awesome stroller wish i had bought it for my other children

I have 5 kids and i recently bought my frog for our newest son. My husband was against this stroller from the beginning because of the price. I bought it anyway. I have to say in the beginning even after watching the video i could not open it to save my life it is tricky and fustrating. I took me a good 20 times to get it but when you do you can do it with your eyes closed. My son loves it. It is a smooth ride and so easy to maneuver. The wheels are a little big in some stores but you can get around it. It is bigger then it seams though. IF you have a smaller car take the wheels off and fold the seat completely so it can fit. comfertably. Other then those minor things i wouldnt trade it in for anything. I wish we could have afforded it when we had our first kids i would have bought it then. I have to say it is the Bentley of strollers
Great stroller - but not perfect

I love my Bugaboo stroller, but it hasn't been the perfect solution. We decided to use the pram as a carseat since buying an infant car seat would have added just a bit too much to the price, and people told us it is better for a baby to be completely lying down for long car trips as its better for their back. So, of course we had to buy the Graco adaptor kit to secure the pram in the backseat. But now, my daughter is 3 1/2 months old and has almost outgrown the pram! But she's still too little to go in the stroller seat. So an infant seat will become, after all, necessary. Second, securing the pram to the chassis and then taking it off is a little bit awkward, not impossible, but awkward, as is loading the pram into the backseat. I am always struggling, staggering around with this awkward weight in my arms. Next, the chassis does not open and close for me as easily as it does for other reviewers. One of the levers sticks so it often takes several tries to slide both levers up to open and close the chassis. Also, when I open the chassis, the two wheels sets are secured together by clips on one of the pairs of wheels (can't remember which) and so the thing doesn't just pop open like in the instructional cd-rom. I have to open the handlebar and then manually separate the two sets of wheels so that the chassis is completely open and standalone on the ground. Then, the canvas basket underneath the stroller is impossibly difficult to get to. If I make a purchase somewhere and want to chuck the bag under the stroller, I have to kneel down and wrestle the bag in there. Perhaps it will be more accessible with the regular stroller seat instead of the pram. Otherwise, it is an absolute pleasure to wheel around and my daughter is very happy being strolled in the Bugaboo.
Worth the money

I have used this stroller since my daughter was born in March of 2005. She is 7 months now and it is as convenient as ever. We have a peg perego car seat, so it is nice to be able to lift the seat out of the car and pop it onto the bugaboo stroller(clips not included). I am 6'6" and it is a comfortable height for me to push around, with a very smooth ride. My wife is 5' 8" and she likes the feel and size as well. It's pricey, but since the stroller adjusts, we will be able to keep using it as she grows.
Only Bugaboo owners would tell...

br /Update:
br /
br /We are using it for 1,5 years and i can that this is indeed one the best strollers you can get for the money.Seriously, check other hight quality strollers from Europe - the price isn't that bad. I was smart enough to get Maxi Cosi Cabrio carseat and me and my baby couldn't be happier. As for now, my sons are 1,5 and 3 years old, i have the board for the sacond child and they love switching places. We went to vacation with it ( borrowed the travel bag from friends) - life was so much easier as if it would be without it.
br /
br /I fit's easily into any car trunk - we used it in Acura 3.2 TL and Lexus GS 430 - fits easily and much more space for groceries. Once you get used to the way it disasambles, you won't have any trouble.

I fell in love with this stroller before I even knew I was pregnant. I received it from my daughter's godmother when I was about 4 months pregnant and I haven't looked back. It's a terrific ride and contrary to those who insist you have to have an SUV for it, I had a 1997 Toyota Avalon my first year with it and that was just fine. It's a smooth ride, durable and perfect for a mother who loves power walking (this is not a jogging stroller!). I loved it's versatility, design and sleekness. I have no trouble fitting my petunia picklebottom bag into the underseat bag on this or strapping it to the handlebar when necessary. The only thing I like about my evenflo travel system that this doesn't offer is a cup holder. But I can live without one, since I got this funky attachment at another baby store that holds keys, a starbucks venti cup and my blackberry. To make a long story short, it adds up to three strollers you'd be buying instead if you don't get this one! This and a Britax Boulevard are all the travel system I needed from birth to 2yrs old and still going strong!

I absolutely love my Bugaboo. We recently used it at the Bay Bridge Walk. We had to take a shuttle, so all we had to do is fold it up and carry the baby in the seat. All the other parents we saw had to hold their babies and fold up their bulky strollers in a separate seat. It was the best investment we ever made. My baby loves is and I love how vesitile it is. You'll love it too.
This stroller is ridiculous. All for show.

If all of you happy buyers want to continue fooling yourselves and think that you are looking into buying this, or bought it because it is such an incredible stroller, think again. This is just another over priced trendy item that everyone HAS to have because some moron celebrity was seen pushing their spoiled little brat around in it.

br /This thing is huge, folding it is an awful experience, and good luck fitting it in your trunk. Look for something that suits you and your babies real needs rather then suiting the lifestyle image you want to portray.
