Great stroller, but a little deceiving

I received my 2006 Pliko P3 a little over a month ago and I am quite impressed with its overall design. I was a little confused as to how the Primo Viaggio carseat attached, but after calling Peg Perego and having it explained by a human and not a picture, I am more comfortable with its functionality. I am a little dismayed, however, by information received over the course of my conversation with the customer service rep:
br /
br /As I realized it would be impossible for a toddler to stand on the back with the seat reclined, the rep mentioned that in the United States, they do not recommend the advertised toddler stand to be used at all. She explained that Europeans have "no law" and are not as concerned about safety and that the stroller was not properly designed to handle two children. I thought her comments were a little crass, but she did have a valid point. I am confused as to why every "American" website, including Babies 'R' Us fails to mention the safety hazard. The toddler bar was one of the big reasons as to why I splurged on such an expensive stroller. I did not want a full size double or even something smaller with a seat on the back because by the time my new baby is sitting up in the stroller, my toddler will be well over the age of 3 and will not really require the use of a seat. After careful consideration, the rep did say that the stand could still theoretically be used, but parents should never turn their head while a toddler is standing on the bar because the stroller would most certainly tip. I kind of made this assumption on my own anyway, but I still think this should be stated so that people do are not deceived!
br /
br /As far as the overall performance of the stroller, it pushes like it's on air. Even with my toddler inside and diaper bag on the back, I could push it in a straight line with one finger! It seems very sturdy, yet extremely light weight.
br /My former stroller was a Combi Savvy ?EX? and I did love it, but my daughter was beginning to out-grow it and was able to reach down to the wheels with her feet to, deviously, slow us down. Though this was a fun game for her, I was growing increasingly annoyed when trying to get somewhere. She would also frequently unstrap herself and climb out of the 5-point harness. I'm not saying that the Combi straps are any less secure than the Peg Perego-it's just a matter of time before she figures out how to undo these as well. For right now, at least, she is still very excited about the new "pink" stroller, even though it's more for her sister-on-the-way. As soon as I took it out of the box and assembled it, she was inside and we were going for a walk around the kitchen. Later, she fell asleep, straps and all. This is a very good sign for this particular stroller because she's hated sitting in her others for any period of time.
br /
br /Until the newness wears off, I am very satisfied with the Peg Perego Pliko, other than the toddler bar mishap. If you are buying for a newborn, expecting to use the toddler bar and infant seat at the same time, then you might want to consider something else. I will probably carry the baby around in a sling for long adventures and put my daughter in the stroller and not use the toddler bar until the baby is at least 4 or 5 months old. I will also make sure that my toddler is only standing on the foot bar when I am standing behind her and can distribute even weight to the handles. We did try this earlier-I put the diaper bag (8 lbs) in the stroller and my daughter on the back. I did tip slightly if I wasn't standing right behind her with my hands on the handles. When my hands were on the handles and when we were walking around, I did not feel as if I was having to over-exert myself to keep the stroller from tipping. I would never, however, trust the stroller not to tip completely backwards if I took my hands off the handles with my daughter still standing on the foot bar.
br /
br /I know this is very specific, but I hope it helps. I've yet to read any reviews describing this same malfunction.

I have been using this stroller for only 3 months now but I am extremely pleased with it so far. I have it in the Anice color and it is stunning! I find the folding and unfolding a snap and it is so light I can easily lift it in and out of my trunk. I can't believe anyone could have a problem or complaint about the ease of use with this stroller!! Another great feature is that it stands up on it's own when it is folded. I keep it in my trunk all the time and still have room for all of my groceries and shopping bags! (I have a Camry). I am still using the infant seat with it sometimes so I am often times removing the sun canopy and then putting it back when we go for a walk. It is so simple to just clip it on and snap it off. The real test is the steering and it's ability to travel over different terrain. It is by far the best steering stroller I have tried, it is truly simple to steer even with one hand. My husband loves to push it when we are out because he can't believe how smooth it is. I have taken it everywhere and have had no problems. My husband ran a road race and I took the baby in the stroller to watch and we pushed over grass, gravel, dirt et.c and it handled them all with ease.
br /As far as the size of the basket I have no problem there either. I have a diaper bag that clips onto the handles which makes it so much easier to grab what you need (ie: keys, wallet, burpcloths, pacifier etc...) This leaves the basket free for shopping bags or my jacket or toys.
br /I would buy another one in a heartbeat.

I have the Pliko P3 (older model)stroller and I absolutely love it. It folds like an umbrella stroller and is extremely lightweight. I leave it in the back of my car and use it almost daily. It has traveled by airplane 6 times during my daughter's first year and sustained minimal damage. (a small plastic cap fell off) I traveled without my husband for most of these trips and this stroller saved my life. I also have the Primo Viaggo car seat which attaches easily and securely into the stroller. I piled on the diaper bag, my purse, car seat base, and winter jacket on the handles and it did not tip over (as long as my daughter was in the stroller and car seat) The only drawback, in my opinion, is the parent drink holder will only hold a small water bottle and it sticks out from the handles on the stroller. We have taken it off and either use a generic one that holds bigger sized drinks or nothing at all. Overall, I highly recommend this stroller.

This stroller is light weight and easy to use. I love how the stroller can be used with another brand car seat. I have a Graco car seat for my daughter and her car seat fits perfect in the stroller and using the car seat adapter latch helps keep her more secured. The stroller is easy to put up and put down and it fits into most narrow isles in the mail. I love how easy the stroller is to push and how easy it is to turn. I feel that this is the best stroller out there.

Nice but still some major drawbacks for us

I thought I'd found it all when I saw this stroller... lightweight, compact (folds like an umbrella stroller), attractive, padded comfort for the baby, multi-position reclining seat, tray, fabulous sunshade (the BEST), decent storage, narrow enough to get around in stores, adjustable handles, smooth ride, and you can easily handle it with one hand. Just beware of 3 things: First, this stroller does NOT fold with just one hand. The catch is hidden in each handle... you have to use both hands to release both handles together, then you can use one hand to pull up and fold. So you can't hold your baby and fold at the same time. This is a big drawback for people with kids who don't yet stand on their own! Secondly, the most upright position of this stroller is still slightly reclined. This makes looking around a little harder on wee little ones. Combined with a tray that is pretty far out, it makes it hard for them to access the tray too. My son keeps leaning and pulling forward, trying to sit up! Finally, I agree that the harness is not very good. It's not secure at all... more like a flimsier version of those leashes you can buy so you don't loose your toddler in the airport. My 5 month old can wiggle all over the place in it, and he easily gets himself in scary positions, even when the harness is tightly adjusted. He probably would be more content if the back would just sit more upright! Also the harness makes it hard to use some stroller accessories since they are made for a real 5-point harness secured in a wide stance into the back of the stroller (like McClaren). This harness just gets in the way, and it's dangerous. I would love to either have the option to just use the lap part or else have a way to firmly secure the harness to the back. How hard would it be to make the harness so it can clip on more securely to the back if you want that? For $300, these are major drawbacks for us. I am so disappointed! I really wanted this stroller to work for us.

What a fantastic stroller. A fully reclining seat with a tilting sun canopy to block out the suns rays. Even though I purchased the stroller without the infant car seat it is compatible with their primo viaggio in matching colors.
br /
br /The tall adjustable handlebars made it easy for me and my husband who is 6'-1" to push. The wheels are large and roll very smoothly over ruff surfaces especially those nasty cracks in the sidewalks.
br /
br /Folding the stroller is super easy and does not require any bending. They even added a carry handle to help take in and out of the trunk of the car. Storage space however is a little small but I also purchased a Skip Hop diaper bag that hook onto the handlebars for added space. Weight is about 17lbs which seems to be the average for most of the strollers in this category.
br /
br /I purchsed my stroller at travelingtikes.com where I also puchased my Britax Marathon recently for $50 less. Traveling Tikes is currently having a sale on the Peg Perego's strollers at 10% off shipping included.
br /
br /Even though I buy from BRU. It sure pays to shop around online.

My husband and I purchased this stroller after our friends and many of the online reviews raved about it. However, we have been somewhat disappointed with it. There are some very good aspects and some not so great aspects to it. Likes: The maneuverability is very nice. It is easy to move between narrow walkways. The canopy is very nice, especially with the infant seat attached, it fully closes to become sort of a cacoon. The fabric is attractive and easy to clean. It is also easy to carry with the attached handle. You can actually fold it with one hand if you need to (although it is much easier with two). You have to click both handles up, but you can do them one at a time with one hand, since the first side that you click will stay up until you click the second. The low reclining position is also very nice. Drawbacks: Although the fabric is nice to look at and clean, my baby is very uncomfortable in it. The back of her head and her back are often sweating when I take her out of it. The fabric is also a bit scratchy. I've had to purchase a liner to make her more comfortable. One of the worst things about this stroller is the harness. It is like trying to get a bungy cord around your baby. There is a plastic piece that attaches the two shoulder harnesses together at the chest, but it does not come apart so every time you try to put your baby into the straps that piece has to go over her head and scratches her face. We eventually cut it off. It is also tricky to adjust the straps and we can never get them to fit just right on her shoulders. The cupholder is nice to have, but sometimes a bit small. Not all drink containers will fit in it. The basket is small and hard to access. It is somewhat difficult to unfold while holding a baby because you have to sort of pull both handles up a little them step on the foot pad at once (which makes you feel like a bit of an acrobat sometimes). Also, we have purchased several Peg Perego items and the instructions associated with every item are almost useless. So all in all, this stroller looks good, but the function has much to be desired. I wish I would have given more attention to how comfortable it would be for my daughter prior to purchasing it, rather than being much more focused on safety, durability, and attractiveness. For the expense, I think Peg Perego can do much better.

I own this stroller in gray and red. I like preety much everything about it , except for 1 thing: It would be awesome if it had a reversable handle. When walking with an infant in a crowded place ( like the mall , street or boardwalk) it would be a lot safer if you could see your baby.

Very Pleased. However...

I just recently purchased this stroller about a month ago, I love this stroller, however there are two things I wish were different. One thing, I wish the harness that goes over the shoulders were connected to the stroller like all other strollers out there. because everytime my little one moves around too much it comes off the peice of fabric its holding onto and then my baby starts slipping to the side, if she were to lean forward she could hit her head. The second thing I wish it had was something like the pliko lite stroller thats just like this one only a lighter weight. on that one it has a zipper pocket on the canopy where you could put your little things in such as keys and wallet and such. But other than that i love it. I reccommend to anyone that will spend the money. Its worth it

This is a great stroller for use at the mall or on sidewalks through town. It worked well with the Graco Snug Ride car seat. My son was able to ride in this stroller without the car seat at 3 months.
br /
br /My priorities in purchasing a stroller were 1) adjustable handles (my husband and I are both tall), 2) handles well and 3) comfort for my son. A cup holder was not important. The weight of the stroller is nothing compared to lifting my son with the infant car seat in and out of the car.
br /
br /The Pliko met all my expectations and I found it easy to fold/unfold. After watching my sister struggle with her stroller that came packaged with her car seat, I was committed getting a good quality stroller and the Pliko fits that bill.

This stroller is great. It is lightweight and totally manageable to lift and takes up a small amount of room in the back of the car. The sun shade is wonderful and has more coverage than other brands like Britax. The best feature is the steering - it is really easy to maneuver. When used in conjuction with infant car seat - it makes a really nice cocoon for baby. Also - setting up the stroller and folding it up is quick and impressive (takes like 1.5 seconds!). Worth the money. I have to point out the one thing that bugs me though - the five point harness is not permanently connected to back of the stroller. Hard to explain - but this non-pernament connection means that usually the part of the harness that loops onto the stroller comes off and you have to re-loop it. I think I can figure out a way to rig it to stay hooked. But this problem is not enough to make me rate the stroller any lower than a 5 because I haven't found any stroller that I like better in this price catagory. I compared with Britax but Britax has difficult steering and the sunshade s smaller.

I love this stroller and I'm very happy we made the decision to get it. This is a very comfortable stroller with everything I was looking for. Mainly - compact fold, full recline, and something that was compatable with my Britax Companion Infant Seat. It's very comfy and my daughter loves to be in it. I highly recommend this stroller...
br /
br /I would like to address the issue that has been brought up by other reviewers saying that it doesn't fold with one hand - I AM ABLE TO FOLD IT WITH ONE HAND...here's how I do it. I use my right hand to squeeze the release on one handle, then I use my right hand to squeeze the release on the other handle. They do not have to be done at the same time. You can definitely do one and then the other. Anyway, after that, I pull up on the handle behind the seat, and it's folded. All with one hand. No problems. The stoller is light enough to easily lift it into the trunk with one hand too.
br /
br /Regarding the storage - for me it has more than enough storage. I'm not sure if people realize that the basket has to be accessed from the sides - not the back. It holds a lot, although I do hang a diaper bad on the handles and then just use the basket for my purchases. I haven't had a problem with the amount of storage.

My sister in law lent me a gorgeous graco luxury stroller, it was beautiful BUT it was so bulky and heavy I couldn't even lift it to get it into the trunk of the car.
br /So I decided to go for somehing more convenient and practical and I found Pliko P3.
br /It's great, folds tight and easy, very smooth all terrain ride, comfortable, nice colors (I have it in anice), easy to clean upholstery, the front bar is soft an folds too, comfortable and adjustable grips, big basket.
br /
br /Even though I'm happy with my choice, I found 3 cons:
br /1. The 5 point harness is totally disfuctional, it's just attached to the seat with a plastic part that goes into a little strip of fabric, but it easily come off if you to pull it up or the baby with his movements. We just started using it without the shoulders strap.
br /2. When you unfold it you have to secure the front bars (where the wheels are attached) manually before getting the baby into it.
br /3. The access to the fabric basket is not the best.

Stroller is very lightweight, a must have when dealing with small children. Opens and Closes fairly easily (wish it could close w/ one hand though). Fabric wipes off easily. Pushing the stroller feels like it's gliding on air, very easy to push w/ one hand and maneuver around corners or racks in stores. Looks good, all in all a good stroller. Only one problem, AWFUL STORAGE SPACE! The storage space is NOT easily accessible, due to the bars that cross over the basket, and just all around small. So many other cheaper strollers have HUGE baskets, why not the Pliko? Oh well, maybe they will improve on this in the future.

I was looking for a stroller to use on vacations when space would be limited in the car. I looked at a lot of umbrella strollers but they all seemed so tiny and flimsy for my smaller-than-average 16 month old. I tried the Graco Mosiac which looks very similar to the Pliko, but I was so difficult to fold. The Maclarens were all nice, but they are much heavier. All in all this is a great stroller. It drives smooth, it steers well. The basket is large, but a little hard to access. Also, if you put too much stuff in it, it will drag the ground. The cup holder is also a great attachment. Some reviews said it fell off, but I have had no problems. I would definently recommend this stroller.

I spent hours looking at strollers in the store because I couldn't decide if this stroller was worth the money. Well I'm glad I finally decided to buy the P3. One of my favorite things about it is that it folds up so well and doesn't take up a lot of room in the car. I compared it to a few other strollers in the store and when folded, it was nearly half the size of the others, not to mention half the weight. My Graco infant car seat fits in quite well and easily too. It rides very well too, my son falls asleep quite easily because of the smooth motion.

When I first put it together I was so mad that I bought it. The directions really didn't help me at all! I had no idea how to open or close it. Once I figured it out I felt so dumb- b/c it is really easy. It's easy to push and I have no problems with turning. My husband is 5'11 and he has to stand to the side to push it otherwise he kicks it. The handles don't come far enough out! I haven't had a chance to use it without the infant seat. I do wish the carseat snapped on like a lot of other brands.

I have been using this stroller now for 7 months and I love it. The fabric stills looks good and nothing has broken off of it-so I can't say anything about the customer service. I know it doesn't have a huge storage basket but hanging the diaper bag off the handles has worked out for me. It can easily be steered with one hand if you are carrying bags in the other. It has gotten alot of use. We are out and about just about every day. I used a Graco snugride carseat for the 1st 6mths and it easily fit into the stroller and cost alot less than the Peg infant seat. Most of the time the stroller is being pulled out of the trunk of my car, other times it is used in town. It's not too heavy, it folds up easily and my baby finds it to be quite comfortable. We call it the rolling condo-we went away and he slept in it for 3 nights bc the hotel crib was scary. My friend got the Venezia and she wishes she got this one bc it takes up less space in her car trunk. I'm sorry, some of the cheaper strollers out there look it-cheap and have these huge wheels, you have to have an SUV to store it. I rave about this stroller to moms-to-be shopping in BRU. Worth every penny.

I have this stroller in another color. I absolutely love it. It's the best I've seen as far as getting big-stroller features like an ample sun shade into a reasonably light, compact package. You do have to compromise some on storage space, but that's a small price as far as I'm concerned. You can hang bags on the handles, which helps.
br /
br /I do want to comment on the "savvy mom" review. I think she has misunderstood the proper use of the harness. From what I remember of the instructions, the shoulder straps should only be clipped to the backrest of the stroller long enough to help you adjust the strap length to fit the child. After that, you unclip it so the child can move more freely. The idea was to keep the child from being able to climb out of the stroller, not to keep him/her restrained against the backrest.

This beautiful stroller has everything any mom could ever want in it, except safety. The stroller comes equipped with a 5 point harness, but what good is this harness if it does not have a permanent attachment to the stroller itself. Everytime I put my child in the stroller and strapped her in, the small clip that holds the harness to the backrest keeps coming undone. If my child moves it gets loose and comes off which means she can easily stand up and fall over.

BEWARE! I am quite disappointed with the company's warranty policy. I have used my A3 Pramette for about 6 months now. While I was walking with my SON in it, the front left wheel CRACKED OFF on the bank line! I had to push my 7 month old son home uphill 4 avenues(equivalent to 12 blocks) and 3 side blocks on the BACK WHEELS in Brooklyn. Quite exhausting and very embarrassing. When I called customer service, I was told this is a "cosmetic problem". Really? The stroller does not move....so how is this cosmetic? So, I had to pay $26 and won't receive it for another 7-10 days. Really nice service for a $350 stroller. Not worth it. I am very unsatisfied and I will NOT recommend these strollers. The wheel was made of plastic, FYI.

I gave this stroller 3 stars because it has at least two really annoying drawbacks that make me consider trading it in for a different stroller. The first is that when the seat is in the reclined position, the canopy will not stretch all the way forward. If the sun is in my child's eyes, I have to unsnap the canopy from the back so that it will block the sun in the front. This leaves her head exposed in the back. The second thing is the five point harness is connected to the stroller with a cheap plastic insert. It doesn't stay in place and I would think it would be very uncomfortable for a baby whose head is laying right on top of it.
