Not bad, but take a look at the Joovy Caboose before buying this one

I was in desperate need of a double stroller. When I had a newborn and a toddler, I got a Kolcraft Jeep double. It was heavy and bulky and nearly impossible to navigate. I recently purchased a double umbrella side-by-side, thinking it would solve my problems. While I loved the size and maneuverability, it was simply too wide to handle some door sizes and many store aisles in the city we live (forcing us to wait outside while family got to look around - no fun!). So, I began hunting for something better. I debated between the Safety 1st/Eddie Bauer Transit Tandem, the Baby Trend Sit N Stand, and the Joovy Caboose. After inspecting them all, measuring, and going for test drives, here are my results:
br /
br /Safety 1st/Eddie Bauer Transit Tandem:
br /Weight - 33.8 lbs. (according to the Walmart website, but it sure didn't feel that high)
br /WHEELS footprint (not to be confused with manufacturer dimensions) - 33x20
br /TOTAL folded/collapsed size (including all attachments such as footrests, canopy, etc. since who wants to remove them every time?) - 47 long x 13 wide x 16 high
br /Overall impression - I really liked this stroller: compact size, cushy child straps. The only problem I had was leg/foot room. My 3-1/2 yo daughter and almost 2 yo son (both VERY low on the height percentile, like 5%) already had very little in BOTH positions. Considering they will only get bigger, I would definitely recommend this stroller for smaller children, like 4-24 months. Otherwise, excellent navigation and good collapsed size.
br /
br /Baby Trend Sit N Stand:
br /Weight - 25.3 lbs.
br /WHEELS footprint - 40x21
br /TOTAL folded/collapsed size - 50 long x 21 wide x 14 high
br /Overall impression - Not bad, and if I hadn't tried the next one, this would have been my choice (by default). Fairly good maneuvering, although the parent cup tray was very cheap.
br /
br /Joovy Caboose:
br /Weight - 24 lbs.
br /WHEELS footprint - 31.5x21.5
br /TOTAL folded/collapsed size - 46 long x 21.5 wide x 15 high
br /Overall impression - Excellent! The very compact wheel footprint makes this a dream to handle. It fits in tight squeezes with ease, which was my main concern. The lack of parent cupholder doesn't faze me, since they're easy to add. Some people have negative comments on the sliding seat. While I can see how some wouldn't like this, in my opinion, it's not like it slides constantly and easily. It requires a little effort to move, so that doesn't bother me either. In fact, my 3 yo daughter LOVES LOVES LOVES (her words) this stroller, so I let her pick which color (she chose orange). This stroller is by far the most compact, affordable double and well worth the slightly higher expense over the BT Sit N Stand. That is, if you want a better constructed, smaller footprint, easier to navigate stroller.

Prior to buying this stroller I had the Joovy. It was heavy, awkward to fold, and had a very small basket underneath, and no parent tray. Even worse, the child tray did not move. This meant I had to squeeze my child in between the seat and the stroller, and adjusting her body and legs was very difficult. She was very uncomfortable and cried any time I put her in it. I bought this stroller and we all LOVE it. Here is why:
br /1. Easy opening child tray so child goes in and out of stroller easily
br /2. Large undercarriage basket
br /3. Parent tray, with 2 cup holders and a closed compartment, big enough for a few keys, money etc.
br /4. Good head/body room for the standing child
br /5. Weighs about the same as a one child stroller
br /6. Opens and folds with one hand
br /Skip the Joovy, go for this one, you will be glad you did.

5 star stroller! A+ for 2 children even 4 years apart.

I got this stroller last week... I agree with the other reviewers to skip the joovy... I only got that one because I thought the more expensive the stroller the better. Was I wrong... the Joovy way too heavy and hard to push - no tray to carry anything, not as big of a basket on the bottom. The sit n stands front seat is way bigger. My 4.5 year old has more room in back to sit stand. I have a 4.5 year old that is by no means short neither she is 44 inches and weighs 42 lbs and a 7 month old that weighs 15 lbs. I love the infant car seat holder. This works our really well... I didn't know they had this option when I bought it so it was a bonus for me since I thought I was going to have to take my 7 month old daughter out of her carseat to put in this stoller, but I just put my infant carseat in there. This stoller is compatable with almost all infant car seats - we have Graco. It it by no means at all hard to push... my 4.5 year old loves to sit in the back of the baby... definately worth the $120... I wish I would have gotten this one before the joovy. I have taken this stoller to the airport and shopping so far and it has made my life easier with a 4.5 year old and an infant. I am 5'7 and the handle to push is perfect for my height - usually a problem I have with other strollers the handles being lower.

Another wise choice.

We've used this stroller for any long event since last August. Our toddler has the choice to sit, stand, face us, turn around, etc. The only inconvenient factor is that there isn't a great recline postion for the baby in the front(to sleep), like that of our Evenflo stroller. It's lightweight, easy to pack, and compact.

Great idea

I received this stroller today and was pleasantly surprised. I put it together, all you have to do is attach the wheels and the canopy which took all of 5 mins, and my 3yr old jumped on the back seat and loves it. I have the Chicco Key-Fit infant car seat and it fits just fine with the infant carrier bar in place, my baby slept in the car seat in the stroller all afternoon. There is a nice seatbelt that goes over the infant car seat to hold it firmly in the stroller. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it's a bit heavy/bulky, I hope I don't have any problems getting it in and out of my van. I can't wait to try it out at the mall.

I have used this stroller for about six months now and am already looking to purchase a different double stroller. It does fold easily, even with one hand and folds flat. Unfortunately, it takes so much energy to push it I never want to take the kids anywhere in it. I thought maybe it was just me, but my husband used it last weekend and thought the same thing.

This stroller would be great if your kids doesn't fall asleep while riding it. The Sit-n-Stand stroller doesn't recline. If you have kids who might fall asleep while you shop or just take a wall around the park or block it can be very uncomfortable for the child. This stroller is good for quick task. It is just meant for Sit and Stand as the name it is given. Also, to fold this stroller there is a trick to the front wheels. It is not very hard to steer this stroller; it fits fine in my Honda civic trunk while I still have plenty of room for a diaper bag as well as a few filled shopping bags. All in all an "okay" stroller.

Functions well for the money ($119)

I bought this stroller so that I could resume walking on a daily basis now that summer is here. I considered buying a double jogger stroller, but decided to get this one so that I would be able to use it indoors as well. I wanted something that would be pretty all-purpose. I liked the low price of this stroller since my older child is too old to really use it for more than about a year.
br /
br /Overall this stroller is very nice. It doesn't have any real major problems.
br /
br /The front seat is very soft and comfortable. Its sits straight upright when it is up, which is nice (my baby always want to sit straight up to see out). It reclines enough for an older baby to take a nap, but not to be laying down. I also like that when it is reclined and the baby is seat belted, he cannot sit himself up (very important when trying to get baby to nap!). The child tray is very sturdy plastic and can rotate open instead of having to be completely removed. The canopy works fine. The only problem with the front seat is that the back is pretty short. My 9-month-old's head is already level to the top so I don't know how he'll take a nap in it a few months from now.
br /
br /My 4-year old loves being able to sit or stand at will. He thinks riding in this stroller is fun, which is good. I do feel the older child's space is kind of long and could be more compact. The entire stroller is longer than I hoped and it is mainly because the older child has more room than he needs. My son is 43 inches tall (over the recommended height limit) and he has PLENTY of room.
br /
br /The main problem I have with the stroller is that the handlebar is too narrow. I feel like my hands need to be farther apart in order to control and steer the stroller better. The parent tray is very nice can fit two 24-oz bottles of pop, unlike many trays. I also like the little part in the middle that can hold my garage door opener inside. The basket can really only be accessed by opening the snap on one side, which takes a little longer. The stroller folds easilly and more compactly than I expected.

We bought this stroller for my daughters: 4.5 years/38 pounds/42 inches and 2 years/26 pounds. We were in the market for a new stroller because one of the wheels on our old double stroller had broken off twice and was about to break off again. I was looking for a stroller that wouldn't make my older daughter feel like "a baby," but gave her the option of sitting during long trips to the mall, zoo, park, etc. This stroller was the answer!
br /The front seat is perfect for our little one. The tray swings open (and comes completely off, if needed) to get her in and out easily. I was able to unhook some of the belts and stuff them behind the cushion of her seat because I didn't think a 5-point harness was necessary. The tray is large and sturdy, as is the foot rest.
br /My older daughter is technically taller than the guidelines, but we have absolutely no problem because of it. She walks with us and then easily climbs onto her seat when she wants to take a break.
br /The parent tray is great and something I really missed on our last double stroller. We can store keys, snacks, cellphone, etc., plus two cups/bottles. The basket underneath is a good size and very easy to access. The side of the basket is elastic and pulls down nicely and even unsnaps if need be.
br /The stroller folds and unfolds extremely easily. It takes very little room to store. The steering is fantastic and it requires very little effort to push.
br /The stroller also comes with a contraption to fit an infant carrier for families with a newborn/infant.
br /The price is fantastic too. You can't beat $120 for a double stroller like this!
br /I wish we had bought this a year ago!

My oldest son is 3 1/2 and no longer wants to sit in a stroller. He loves the option to sit or stand up. It works well with an infant seat. The cup holder is a nice plus. It is hard to manuver and while the storage basket is large, the opening is small (between the bench and front seat) and inconvenient. Overall, it's a good beginning stroller, but I'm already looking for something else for when my baby can sit up.

We've had this stroller for 18 months (since my youngest son was born). Our boys are 17 months apart. From day one (when the baby's car-seat was attached to the front) until now, it's been a great investment. Here are a few points to remember:
br /1. This is not what I'd call an "everyday" stroller. It is much too large/heavy for that. This is the stroller you'll want when you take the kids to the zoo, an amusement park, a long walk around the neighborhood, a full day in an international airport, or anywhere you know you'll be walking around for a few hours with two kids. It is NOT the stroller you want if you'll be in and out of the car every few minutes. I would not recommend it for people who have very small cars with little/no trunk space, or apartment-dwellers with a lack of closet space.
br /2. Yes, it is heavy, but in this case heavy=sturdy. We've used this stroller constantly with two rambunctious boys for nearly two years, and it's as good today as it was the day we bought it.
br /3. No, your older child will not be able to fall asleep in it. It is designed for the older child who may want to walk for a while, stand/ride for a while and sit for a while (I think boys are especially prone to this behavior). If you have an older child who wants to sleep every time the stroller comes out, this one is not for you.
br /4. The undercarriage is big enough to hold essentials: a few diapers, wipes, change of clothes and possibly even a potty (if it's a small one). But you won't get a whole bunch of toys down there. The basket is not easily accessible from the seating area, but it IS easily accessible from the sides. There are two side-fasteners that snap together/apart for easy access.
br /5. The parent cup holders are well-placed and there is a nice compartment for keys/change. I cannot speak to the child tray, as we never attached it and we don't use it.
br /Overall, this is a fantastic stroller if used for what it is designed to do which is: accommodate two kids of different ages for a long spell of walking, riding, sitting and standing (but not sleeping for the older child). We've taken it on many vacations in the last 18 months and it's worth every penny I paid for it.

We live on a small military base overseas. My first stroller got all moldy in storage, so we purchased this one when the new baby came. My 3 year old loves the stroller, he calls it his spaceship, or his horse depending on the day and his mood. He hasn't sat in a stroller since he learned how to walk, but he will ride on this all day long. My newborn loves the stroller as much as any newborn loves something. It handels very well, even on uneven cobblestone walkways. Everyone on base comments on how cool the stroller is, several friends with babies on the way are considering purchasing one of their own. We love it and are sort of glad our old one got moldy, so we could get the new one. :-)

I purchased a Baby Trend Sit n Stand last week. Already there are features that were immediately annoying. For one, the seat for the older child does not move. It doesn't slide forward like some other brands to allow you to get to the basket underneath. Secondly, the arm rests for the child who is standing or sitting are not cushioned, nor are they at least round for easy holding or comfort. The parent tray was the best selling point along with the price. But the parent tray is shallow. The drink holders are shallow and the compartment and there is no reason for this to be made so cheaply, there is plenty of space to have made it deeper. I can't even fit my keys in it! doh.

I like the lightweight, easy fold feel of this stroller. The price is great too. That said, we have had 2 major problems with it.
br /
br /My son (3) still gets sleepy from the motion of riding in back and has no place to rest. He will fall asleep sitting up, then winds up hitting his head on the back side rails as he falls over. It's dangerous and I can't use the stroller anytime he might be sleepy. No naps in this one.
br /
br /My second issue is that it is not stable side to side on a slanted surface. If the sidewalk is graded or uneven it takes my whole strength and bodyweight to keep the stroller from tipping. This might not be an issue if your outings are mostly to the mall/shopping centers, but we live downtown and I feel like I'm wrestling with this stroller a lot. I would never be able to let my mother in law use it-- she's not as strong as I am. The small size comes at a price.
br /
br /I'm shopping for a new stroller now and thought this info might be useful to others.

This product is great. It is a little hard to turn when both kids are in it. But I found if you hold it on the outside of the cup holders instead of on the hand grips turning is easier. Makes my life a lot easier with my 1 and 3 year old.

Does the job for a good price.

My wife and I were in a pinch. We were about to leave for California to visit family and needed something smaller than our wide 2 child jogging stroller. We didn't want a hugh tandem deal, as our son is getting older and resists the conventional stroller. We were concerned about having something that we could easily push around the airport and quickly break down when we were ready to board the plane.
br /This worked very well for that purpose. It is fun for my son to have a little more freedom and the baby does pretty well up front. I do wish the sun visor was a little larger.
br /It's not the lightest stroller out there, but it is very sturdy. I agree with the other reviewer who complained about the seat not sliding forward or flipping up. For those times where the back seat was not occupied it was great to have a place to carry a diaper bag and backpack.
br /It provides decent utility at a decent price. It's not about trendiness or fashion with this one.

We love the sit and stand stroller overall. It's great for young kids and infants. The only thing I dont like is you cannot get to the undercarriage. the back seat where the older child can sit should be able to raise up or slide up to insert a diaper bag, but it does not move and therefore there is a lot of wasted space. We have to hang our diaper bag off the back or we have to carry it which defeats the purpose of having a stroller in the first place.

After reading these reviews helping a friend, I have to comment. First, the front seat does recline. It doesn't lay flat but it reclines and my two year old has taken many a nap in it. Second, if you're concerned about your older child not being able to sleep in the back half then you are not in the market for a sit and stand, you need a double stroller! The sit and stand part is to give your older toddlers/preschool age children a break on long outings. Third, the basket is not the most easily accesible, yes, but it's large enough for a small diaper bag and sweatshirts for a family of five (you just might have to unsnap the sides to get it all back out). We've had this stroller for over a year and absolutely love it. My children (2, 4, 5 years old) all love it and I'll even admit I've put all three on the stroller at the end of a long day to make the trip back to the car easier.

We bought this for our family trip to Disney. We have 3 6 yr old girls who are past the stroller stage, but we knew we'd need something for those long days at Disney. We also wanted something with a large basket for all of the items we carried during the day. This stroller delivered! It accomodated my 2 kids perfectly, and along with the great under carriage basket, it also has a sturdy parent tray that fit my digital camera (in a compartment between the cup holders) and 2 well designed cup holders that didn't spill a drop. It also folds up shockily easily! No hassels getting on and off trams, monorail, buses, and boats around Disney! Couldn't have asked for anything more. PLUS we purchased it from WalMart online for $109! Free ship to store! Best buy ever! We rolled it right up to the plane, it was placed onboard and then rolled away upon arrival w/no extra carry-on charges! You can rent strollers at Disney but the cost adds up, and you have to leave a deposit as well as stand in long lines to retrieve the strollers at each park, not worth the hassle-plus they don't accomodate all your stuff and your kids like this one. This is a great everyday stroller as well. I wish I had it a year ago when my youngest was still in strollers on a daily basis. Our kids loved it as well.

I have only used this a few times but it works really well. The basket isn't so accessible but I really like the stroller. Downside-takes up a lot of trunk space and I have to remove the shade, foot tray and lap tray to put it in my trunk but all of these things are easy on and off.

As a mother of 27 month old twins and 9 month old baby I was desperate for a stroller that would fit all three of them and be compact and maneuvering at the same time. When I saw this on in Target I realized that this is a lifesaver for me, I finally can get out of the house with all three of them at the same time. The solution was easy - a baby comfortably sits in the front seat, one twin sits right behind her facing forward, and another twin stands on the step. It worked out just fine! They love it! Of course this is not the kind of stroller where kids can just relax and fall asleep in, but mine never slept in the stroller anyway. But this is a perfect transportation, when you need to be able to move around with 3 at the same time. Now I'm taking them to the stores, playgrounds, I'm even hiking with them, when before I was so limited.
br /It's easy to fold, pretty light, not very compact when folded though. It's very easy to steer and maneuver and I tried it on the grass and mud and did great, unlike the Combi twin savvy that I've had before and it was very hard to push on grass. The basket is pretty big, again, after not being spoiled with the storage space on Combi, I thought this ones basket was just great, cup holders are very convenient too.
br /Several moms of 3 commented on how clever the solution was with this stroller. I hope it helps you too.

Loved the idea of this stroller, and it does meet my expectations, infact I can fit my newborn in front, 3 yr old sitting on the bench (fwd facing w/ feet in basket), and my 5 yr old standing up. Glides great, easy to fold... only problem is, IT IS SO LONG, (its as long bulky as a double stroller~no exaggeration). It is fine when all the kids are in it, but when its just me and baby, he seems WAY to far away with the huge gap, and because of its length, it is hard to manuver at times. The stroller may not appear as long when baby graduates to the front seat w/OUT the car seat. Pictures are deceiving in lenth. There is a HUGE gap between baby mom, MUCH LONGER than photos appear.

I have had two other strollers before this one, and I have to say I LOVE this one...and so do my kids (a TALL 3 year old and a short 1 year old)!
br /
br /Drawback 1: It is a bit long, but not as long as my GRACO one, so I hardly noticed. And it fits in the back of my Rodeo without a problem!
br /Drawback 2: The basket itself is not the most accessible (it sits under my 3 year olds feet when sitting). However, if she is sitting in this position, turned towards the front, then I just put my things (bag, etc) on the standing/foot board.
br /
br /Why do I love it so much? The kid's tray in the front not only swivels, but it can EASILY be taken off and put back on again. It is very convenient. I easily have room for both kids to sit and be comfortable without having to pay the prices for a REAL double stroller. Seriously, you can't beat the price for this stroller! It handles just fine, with the ability to lock the wheels to go straight or to drive "freely". The price is perfect and it was easy to put together. And, lastly, both of my kids love it, begging to ride it when we go places.

My almost 3 year-old son loves this stroller. He sits and stands and jumps off and plays with the sunshade and makes faces at his baby brother. It weighs much less than the Graco/traditional variety double stroller. It's extremely easy to push. It is a bit longer than the Graco DuoRiders, but the Sit N Stand is nice and lightweight making for easier pushing and maneuvering in other ways.
br /
br /We compared it to the Combi Sit and Stand, and what I've heard before is true. The BabyTrend front seat reclining does not interfere with the rear seatback as the Combi one does.
br /
br /If you want your younger child to have complete 180 recline for naps, this stroller is not for you. However, as you can clip most infant seats onto the front of this stroller, naps are not an issue for our 4 month-old (been using it since he was born). It comes with a snack tray and some storage space underneath, accessible if you have your older child hop up for a bit so you can grab it or drop it in.
br /
br /Very handy; I use it all the time!

When we found out that we were pregnant with our second, we knew that we had to find a stroller solution. Our first was 2 1/2 years old when our second was born. A double stroller was just too babish for our older child to ride in. My sister had her Baby Trend Sit-N-Stand for about a year and a half and loved it. So...We bought one too. It is great. I already had the Baby Trend Galaxy Travel System and was pleasantly surprised when the local baby store (Goore's) in Sacramento had the Sit-N-Stand in Galaxy. It is great! This stroller is actually lighter and easier to open than the stroller from our travel system. It is the best baby gear since sliced bread. Many people have commented to us on how "smart" this stroller is.

We used this stroller on a trip to Washington DC and it was a great investment! I am so glad we bought this item. The storage area isn't that big, but I love everything else about it. Easy to handle.

Gave as a gift to our daughter. She says she loves it. Makes going to the mall with the girls a breeze (well, almost). I'm sure she would highly recommend it to all.

I'm a mom of 3. A 6 year old, a 4 year old and a 3.5 month old. We originally bought the Chicco Cortina Travel system when we were expecting our 3rd child and used that for him till he was about 2 months. I hated that it was so bulky and heavy. Also, if you do not read the manual, you'll never get it open or the babyseat locked in place.

br /Well, we sold the Cortina and bought this one mostly because living in Chicago, we do have a lot of activities to go to. Museums, the zoo, Chicago festivals like The Taste. I remember going to these last year and of course one of the kids is going to get a lil tired and may want to sit down. So far, we've used this stroller a couple times and both older kids love it and the baby sits in the babyseat.
br /
br /We love the parent tray and that the basket has little snaps so you don't have to remove a child from the bench when you want to access it.
br /
br /True, the little button on the side of the carseat are a little bit hard to press in when you want to move the handle, but I'd rather have that than the heaviness and bulkiness of the Chicco Keylock carseat.

My wife and I are very happy owners of both the Latch-loc infant carseat and the Snap-n-go stroller base, both from Baby Trend. For that reason, we were pretty excited when we got a hand-me-down Sit-n-stand LX from a friend. Our toddler is 22 months and our infant is 4 months, so we could use a double stroller. However, this thing has problems. First, when the infant carseat is in its position in the front and nobody's on the back, the assembly is very close to falling forward on the infant seat. The heavy infant seat hangs out farther than the front wheels, so it is (dangerously?) unstable. Second, the rear seat is rearward-facing, so your young family looks like a two-baby crew team out there, with nobody facing forward. On the other hand, if the toddler stands and faces forward, he is in the perfect position to throw things at the infant. Finally, my toddler didn't find anything he identified as a seat, and ended up wanting to stand on the back, hold on to the handle, and lean back at a 30 degree angle until his grip almost failed and he suddenly stepped off the back of the moving stroller, or fell on his rear in the road. A little teaching would probably help that point, but it seems that a seat that isn't very good at keeping the toddler in place is certainly not one to depend on to counterbalance the infant seat in front. Overall, I definitely would not recommend this for anyone with a young infant.

This stroller is way to heavy, too long, steering is very difficult and too bulky, it is huge when folded. Try something else.
