We registered for this stroller after seeing it at Babies R Us and received it as a gift. It is wonderful! They recommend it for older babies because it does not fully recline. However, it reclines just as much as an infant car seat does, and we bought a head roll cushion to put in and we have put our daughter in it from her first week home. We really love this stroller. The one hand fold feature is convenient and she is comfortable in it. The all terrain tires make it easy to push and she doesn't feel bumps and cracks in the road. The benefit of this over jogging strollers is that the tires are not as big, but they still have the same benefits, and the front tire can be locked or swivel (many jogging strollers only have locked front tires). We live near a bike path converted from a railroad bed, and it is gravelly and bumpy. This stroller pushes over the path incredibly easily and our baby rests and doesn't notice the terrain. There are cup holders and the music feature which are a nice perk for parents. On a side note, this stroller would not fit in the trunk of our 2000 honda civic when collapsed. However it would fit in the back seat behind the passenger seat. It will fit in trunks of more mid sized cars though. I really can't say enough nice things about the comforts and ease of use of this stroller. I highly reccommend it to all parents!

My husband and I did a lot of research on strollers before our son was born, and this one stood out from all the rest. We live in Germany, working with the Military so this stroller has seen many places in Europe. It handles any terrain you put it on. In Europe there is a lot of cobble stone and this stoller went with every bumb. It has even been on the beach. It handles like a dream. I get comments all the time from other moms looking for a stroller. You can't find a better stroller for the money.
br /
br /Pros:
br /-VERY easy to push and get around
br /-Love the music on the move
br /-Like how it lays almost flat for naps
br /-Swivle wheel. BEST THING!
br /- Big basket
br /- Kids snack tray
br /
br /Cons:
br /- Small cup holders
br /- May squeak over time, but nothing some grease can't handle
br /- Not the most compact stroller
br /
br /We have owned this stroller for a 1 1/2 year now and it is still going strong. I would say I use this stroller on a day to day bases.

This is great at keeping my 1 yr old occupied during my big shopping days! I have tried other strollers. Go with the Limited! It has noises on the toys that keep him busy. Not to mention the inquiries I get from other parents!
br /
br /It is not hard for me to get it in my Yukon. Howver, I have to put it in the front seat in my husband's Maxima as it does not fold real flat.

Excellent Stroller!!!

First of all, this is the stroller that I (the dad) use. Due to the size and weight, my wife is currently using a "snap-n-go" type stroller.
br /This stroller is the only item that I picked for the baby registry. While my wife was reluctant because of the size and weight, I was able to talk her into it and we have never regretted it! The ride is extremely smooth due to the air filled rubber tires and shocks; and I mean even through uneven sidewalks, grass, and gravel. And we love the "music on the move" feature, which allows us to connect our mp3 player - great for walks and for picnics. Though this stroller is meant for toddlers, it turns out our Combi infant car seat fits perfectly into this stroller so our baby has been using it from birth. (I know from experience that the Graco car seat does not fit as well) It also comes with the toy steering wheel that seems like fun but I haven't attached yet since my baby is a bit too young to appreciate it. I only have two small issues with this stroller. One, even with the easy one-handed fold feature, it still takes up a lot of space. It fits fine into my wife's Prius but in my sedan, the only way I can get this stroller into the truck is by opening up the spare tire compartment in my trunk. But this was something I knew before I added it to the registry and a compromise I gladly made. Secondly, the colors of the stroller automatically encourages people to assume my baby is a boy instead of the beautiful little girl she is. But she is too young to complain about that yet so we are both happy.
br /-Also, I did once get a flat tire but my local bicycle shop was able to swap out the inner tube in about 5 minutes.

Wonderful!

We test drove this stroller several times before buying it. I've started a light jogging/walking program and needed a better stroller. I run on a paved path, with a few hills here and there and this handles like a champ! The shocks are wonderful. By far, the smoothest ride I've been able to find in a stroller.
br /The basket below is large enough for all of our things and more! The seat is roomy and the steering wheel gives my son something to play with that he can't throw down.
br /I also love the adult cup holders and compartment for my keys by the handle.
br /I do wish it were a little taller but that's my only complaint. I find new things to love about it each time I use it!

Excellent replacement for my old Graco!

We received a Graco travel system from our registry, and got some good use out of it. However, we are in a big city, and the stroller just couldn't stand up to the bad sidewalks and roads. Not to mention it was so rickety I'm positive we could be heard a mile away. I broke down and ordered the Jeep Liberty Limited Urban Terrain jogger, and I LOVE it.
br /
br /1. It was simple to assemble.
br /2. It is easier on my hands and wrists to steer.
br /3. The air-filled tires provide a much smoother ride for my daughter.
br /4. The toy steering wheel? She FREAKS out over it, in a good way. She *beeped* her horn about 30 consecutive times in the grocery store. Since that distracted her from pulling boxes off the shelves, I am ultra pleased.
br /5. The price is wonderful.
br /
br /We don't use the Music On The Move feature, so I can't really comment on it. I fill the tires right before we leave the house every time, and it's not hard to do, so I have no complaints there.
br /
br /It is a bulky item, so transporting it and carrying it is a bit tricky. However, the pros all outweigh the cons for me. I am extremely pleased with it.

I purchased this stroller for walking around the neighborhood so the weight/size/fold was not an issue. The tires and suspension give a smooth ride and it is easy to steer. Negatives: seat padding could be thicker, recline mechanism is a cheap toggle, and I laughed when I read others' complaints about getting their finger caught in the harness but it happened to my husband and myself. For the price, it is a great value and and I would definitely recommend it.

I've owned this stroller for one year. It's started to squeak, and when pushed with one hand, it pulls to one side and it's not sturdy at all. I would not purchase this stroller again, and suggest if you are looking for a sturdy stroller, keep looking. (Don't think you can use this as a jogging stroller. It just will not stand up to it. I've only recently, in the last week began jogging with it.) My daughter does love the steering wheel toy. I thought having the music plug-in music would be good to have, but hardly ever use it. I prefer to hear the sounds around us, and have her hear them too. Afterall, what else are stroller rides for? In addition, there's music on the toy and she plays it. Pre-baby, had to have the headphones. The canopy is not sufficent to block the sun and had to purchase a supplemental canopy. The handles are nicely padded.

We bought this stroller so that we could take our baby to the park and stroll into the grass without having her bouncing all around inside. After a lot of research, we decided to get this one. The steering is excellent, so good that you can take it shopping and to the market. I love the big basket and saddlebags on the side. My daughter is now 17 months and still loves it. I like the window in the canopy that allows me to see her when the canopy is open. It gets a little warm inside, so I take the velcro off the back and tuck it under the parent tray to get more circulaton (in the most upright position).
br /
br /When I got this stroller, the strap between the legs was a little frayed. I emailed customer service for Kolcraft, and they sent a new cover immediately. It was a task to replace the cover, which involved using a philips screwdriver, but at least now I know exactly how the seat is attached and a lot about the basic construction of this stroller. It is built very well.
br /
br /I use this stroller with baby inside when I walk my two German Shepherds, and over time, the left wheel deflated, probably because that's the side the dogs are on, and they sometimes pull a bit. So, I always check to make sure all the tires are well inflated, which also improves the ride and steering, at least once every couple of months.
br /
br /We use the IPOD with the music on the move, which is great, although the sound quality isn't super good, it's listenable. My daughter loves the toy in front, and always pulls off the mirror. So we don't use that, but I keep her snacks and her water in her cupholders. At 17 months, her feet now reach the upper footrest.
br /
br /This stroller is very quiet and super easy to push, you can push it with your pinky finger! I was a little nervous about going downhill at first since I worried that I might let go and the stroller would zoom down the street into the road. I used a dog leash which I attached to the stroller and myself just case (you never know when you might trip and let go by accident).
br /
br /The only big downside is that the cover does not remove and is not washable. I simply vacuum out crumbs and use Mommy's Little Helper spray to get off dried on snacks, spills, and other stuff. It looks as good as new after a year and a half. The wheels can rust, so you want to keep them dry and spray some WD-40 on them once in a while.
br /
br /The other thing is that it is big and heavy. In my Highlander, I am able to fit the two German Shepherds and the stroller in the back, and not much else.
br /
br /I pretty much love this stroller and use it more than my Combi Soho (which is used only for quick shopping trips). I like that I can put my groceries in the basket in the store and not have to deal with the dirty shopping baskets at the store. For bigger trips, of course I use the shopping cart.

we love our jeep stroller! the three wheels make it so easy to get around and inflated tires (with tire pump included) make for a smooth ride. the music-on-the-move is a cool feature, and my son loves the steering wheel (although at 8 months has a hard time reaching it still). the cup holders are a little small, good for only the half-liter water bottles. there is plenty of storage and the sun shade is perfect with its little clear window to make sure baby's being good.

We originally wanted a stroller/car seat combo, but we received this as a shower gift. We love it! Our infant Graco Snug Ride carseat actually fits into the stroller (facing whomever is pushing). My husband loves the iPod connection, it works well as best I can tell. The tires are easy to inflate, I was able to figure out the air pump to inflate the tires with out any instructions. I also find that it has a lot of storage capacity for shopping. It is not super easy to steer with one hand as I sometimes have to do when my baby wants out. The stroller is heavy to lift in and out of the trunk and it does not fit in all cars. It can be awkward to lift and stowe ( watch your fingers )and it takes up a lot of space. It does collapse using one hand, but its not as if you could do it while holding your baby or anything else so it might as well be two handed) Also, I find that it is not the best a steering in small isles in stores, it tends to get hung up. However, it will ride over most terrain quietly and with little disturbance to your little one. It has two cup holders in near the handle, but I find that they are usually too small. I read once that they were designed to fit a Starbucks cup--My Avent bottles do not fit well nor do bottles of water. Overall, I would recommend this stroller, its well priced, durable and functional.

I FINALLY BROKE DOWN AND ORDERED THIS STROLLER. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. IT TOOK ME 4 MINUTES TO PUT TOGETHER AND PUT MY SIX MONTH OLD IN AND WHEEL HIM AROUND THE HOUSE!!! HE LOVES TRYING TO DROOL ON THE STEERING WHEEL..
br / WE KNEW THAT THIS STROLLER WAS BULKIER THAN OTHERS TO STOW IN THE CAR. THAT'S TO BE EXPECTED WITH A JOGGER.
br /WE HAVEN'T EXPERIENCED A FLAT. BUT THERE IS STUFF AT WALMART THAT IS CALLED TIRE SLIME OR SOMETHING TO THAT EFFECT. WHEN YOU PUT IN THE TUBE IT WILL HARDEN AND YOU COULD RIDE OVER NAILS AND THE TIRE WILL REMAIN FINE. (MY HUSBAND AND I DISCOVERED THIS WITH OUR 12 YEAR OLD WHO WAS GOING THROUGH TIRE TUBES LIKE THEY WERE GOING OUT OF STYLE...FOR $10.00 IT'S WORTH IT).
br /THIS FITS FINE IN MY CARAVAN AND IS NOT RICKETY OR NOISY WHILE PUSHING!! WISE INVESTMENT FOR THOSE LONG WALKS OR MALL TRIPS.

Awesome stroller, wish it had sturdier tires!

I love this stroller! It's my "walking around the neighborhood" stroller since it's really too big to transport anywhere unless you have an SUV or truck w/ room in the back. We don't have sidewalks around here so I find I have to take the stroller off-roading a lot and it steers wonderfully even over loose pebbles and sand. I attached our CD player and put in my daughter's CD when she starts to fuss and it calms her right down, long enough to finish my walk! Now that she's almost a year she is honking the horn and using the front tray to keep snacks and a sippy cup. The shade is nice and big, but I added an Eddie Bauer clip-on stroller shade since I live in AZ and the sun (and wind) come at us from all angles. The basket underneath is also really big and easily accessible. I even put my little dog in there and finished up a walk one day when she decided she was done walking!!
br /The only problem I've found with it (besides it's size) is the tires pop ALL THE TIME. I got a free tire (yes, they sent an entire tire, instead of just a tube!) from Kolcraft when my warranty was still in effect, but that popped w/i the week as well. I guess I will take the other reviewer's advice and take it to a bike shop to repair, but I'm sure it will happen again soon. It's probably a problem out here in cactus-land more than most places where there aren't so many prickley things on the ground! Even so, I highly recommend this stroller for it's smooth ride and quality feel.
br /
br /ETA: I contacted Kolcraft and they said the wheels from the Jeep Liberty Sport stroller were made of un-poppable rubber and would fit on this stroller as well. So I bought all 3 of them (for $42 total, ugh) and use them instead of the air-filled tires now. The ride isn't as cushy and they squeak more (probably just need to lube them up a bit), but at least they're not popping all the time now and I can actually use the stroller!

Bought this stroller for my son when 18 months. We still use it today and he's 3. It is smooth ride and easy to manuever. However has a few drawbacks: *too big and bulky for me to load in and out of my car, will only take it if I am in my SUV. *wheels always go flat, and unless you are a contortionist, you will struggle to fill 'em up with air. Otherwise, if you are a man or a strong woman with small hands and a big SUV, it's perfect!

A Comparison with the Instep/Schwinn Safari Jogging Stroller

Thanks for your feedback
About a year ago, we looked at front swivel wheel jogging strollers. We wanted one with a supportive seat that would allow our son to sit more upright than most jogging strollers allowed. We also wanted one with a child tray. We opted to get the Instep Safari TT Single Stroller (which I think is the same as the Schwinn Safari TT Swivel Stroller) over one of the Jeep® Liberty® Limited Urban Terrain Strollers. We were able to buy the Instep much cheaper than the Jeep. Also, the Jeep we saw had speakers for a cd player which we had no interest in using. We have just recently purchased a used 2003 Jeep stroller. For our current off-road, non-jogging purposes, this is working out better.
br /
br /I would like to offer our comparison of the Instep/Schwinn Safari and the Jeep. There seems to be a few choices in Jeep models. Ours is used and I don't know which we have. Therefore, these are just basic guidelines.
br /
br /We've taken both strollers around a neighborhood with sporadic sidewalks and no curb cutouts and both have handled the mixed/rough terrain well. We've also walked on the university campus where there are small (2') hills and both strollers go up and down them fine.
br /
br /My main complaints with the Instep, and what I like about the Jeep, are little things. The cupholders are so shallow that bottles of water fall over. The child tray is not removable. When our son falls asleep we have to lift him out over the tray. The sunshade is beyond stupid. We live in Arizona and the Instep shade provides no protection from the sun. It actually curves upwards. We bought a Kiddopotamus sunshade. Although it provides ample sun protection, our son must essentially look out a tube. I don't know if the Jeep sunshade will be better, we haven't used it for daytime walks yet. However, it seems bigger and does not curve up and let the sun in. I will address the bad Instep brakes later.
br /
br /The Instep is bigger and the seat for the child is roomier. However, there is more head clearance space under the Jeep Canopy. I wonder if the foot rest on the Jeep will be outgrown faster than the footrest on the Instep.
br /
br /The seat on the Jeep seems better padded. The one we bought was FILTHY when we got it and it cleaned up easily. I had been certain it would be covered in stains, but it looks brand new. The Instep has a thin seat cover that can be removed for washing. However, it is velcroed in place. When our son sits down, we have to hold the pad in place or it slips and wads up underneath him.
br /
br /There are reflectors attached all over the Jeep. The Instep has no reflectors that I've ever noticed.
br /
br /The handle on the Instep is adjustable, so you can make it taller. You can also position it facing backwards and be further back from the stroller. This is probably advantageous for joggers. The Jeep is okay height for me 5'7" and I think my 6' husband is okay, but much taller and the Jeep handle might be too short.
br /
br /The back wheels on our Instep are bigger than the rear wheels on the Jeep. That might make a difference for someone who jogs. I haven't jogged with either stroller.
br /
br /Our Instep has a locking front wheel as does our Jeep. I don't know if all models of each brand lock or not.
br /
br /The brake system on the Jeep is better. Although they both have foot brakes that interact with the rear wheels, the Instep partially falls into place when you go over bumps. You then get a bump-bump-bump rhythm in the stroller. My husband actually stretched a bungie cord between the handle bar and the foot bar to prevent this. I haven't noticed the Jeep brake falling into place.
br /
br /I like the cargo basket better on the Jeep because it is bigger and much more accessible. Another advantage of the Jeep is for our son. He loves to push the stroller like he does shopping carts. He grabs the horizontal bar at the back of the stroller and pushes. On the Instep, this is the brake so he sets the brake. On the Jeep, he grabs and pushes with the cargo basket so he does not set the brake. The cargo basket on the Instep is very inconvenient. It's small and it is hard to get stuff in and out. I suspect for someone jogging, they would collide with the Jeep basket but not with the Instep basket.
br /
br /We've never used the Instep as a jogger, but rather as an off-road stroller. Now that I have used both, I think the Jeep is better for off-road general stroller, but the Instep is probably better for jogging. I still like the cup holders, sunshade, brakes, and removable tray of the Jeep MUCH better and think the Instep would be a superior stroller if it had those. Although I like the jeep cargo basket for my purpose, I think the Instep cargo basket that doesn't stick back, the handle that folds backwards, and the large rear wheels could possibly make a difference for a jogger.
br /
br /As of this writing, amazon does not offer the front swivel Jeep. However, it can be ordered from other sites. Some models are as cheap as $100 at some retailers.

It's great but takes up LOADS of room

This is a fantastic stroller. The optional front swivel wheel gives freedom of choice for those who are not sure whether to go fixed or swivel, the seat seems to be very comfortable, and I adore having the Music on the Move (I put on the Jack's Music Show CD and my infant daughter is perfectly content!!).
br /
br /My only complaint is the size of the stroller when it is folded down. I have a truck and it takes up a good third of the cargo space WITH THE THIRD ROW SEATS DOWN. There is absolutely no way that it would fit with the third row seats up, which is a real shame. So, not a good option for someone who has a small amount of cargo space in their vehicle.

I've owned this stroller for two years, and we still use it for long walks even though our toddler is quite mobile. But the wheel design seems incredibly vulnerable to problems: the rubber detaches from the inner metal part of the tire, destroying the seal and going permanently flat. I replaced one of the back wheels during the first year, and, recently, had to order another one. Kolcraft finally sent me a new wheel ($16) after much delay (it was backordered). It arrived in a thin padded envelope much battered--and, as it turns out, already flat and detached from the seal. When I contacted them about the problem, they promptly sent me two more wheels. Again, the packaging was in the same condition--and so were the wheels. I'm really not in the mood to contact them again: I'm tired of photographing broken wheels and waiting for replacements. Again, we absolutely loved this stroller when it was working. But getting a replacement wheel that works has been a serious pain, and the problem still isn't resolved.

I have the previous iteration of this stroller, which is basically like this gray one except it's olive green. It's got the same steering wheel attachment, Music On the Move w/ cup holder accessory, etc. This thing should be great, but unfortunately there are a couple flaws which are causing me to return this item to the store.
br /
br /First, it's noisy. If you secure the footrest to the front wheel assembly, using the 2 provided screws, you get a clanky rattling noise all the time, even on pretty smooth pavement. With its air-filled rubber tires, this stroller should be virtually silent, but due to this problem it's not. Second, the stroller creaks as you push it, because it's somewhat rickety. I should be happy with this stroller, since everything else is great, but I just can't stomach feeling like I'm pushing a shopping cart (noisy as heck) around the neighborhood.

We received this stroller 2.5 years ago. It was bulky and big, don't plan on taking it on short trips. But I do like that you can go over horrible sidewalks, dirt and some foothills trails - dirt/sand with some rocks. However, our tires have to be pumped up every stinking time we want to take it out. We finally blew two of the tires completely so that we have to now figure out where to get the tires. So it did last 2.5 years with rough terrain. As soon as I find some new tubes, I am hoping it will easily last another 2.5 years.

This stroller is great, I have had plenty strollers but this one along with my twin swift stroller is the best I have own! With the Kolcraft it feels as if we are walking on air. The stroller rides well, very comfortable for my son. It reclines with a toggle but it goes down far enough for a nice nap. This is a dream stroller. I just love it! I was going to by the combi thunder but the front wheel is stationary with is not good at all because if you get stuck in a tight spot you can't maneuver. I use this stroller just for jogging/walking and I found this stoller to be the best-- price wise and convience.

I finally picked up the jogging stroller now that my boy is 17 months old. It was easy to put together and is very quiet. Since its brand new there hasn't been time for it to get squeeky! My only complaint was that it seemed to lean to the right until I walked with it for about a mile. Then it corrected itself and I think it is nice. The other thing was the left back tire rubbed one time on the break that sits up above when unlocked. But that could have been some uneven ground. I have the Sport model that doesn't come with the MP3 thing I think. I'll just listen to the birds and ambient sounds instead.

we bought this when my daughter was newborn, and we were surprised that her peg perego car seat fit into it so well, now shes a year and a half and even if were at home she climbs into it and plays with the steering wheel. She has always loved it, in the snow and on the ground and on picnics, its great, a lot better than plastic wheels, the front tire swivels and also has a little switch so that it becomes more like a jogging stroller and the front wheel doesnt move. Weve really liked it so far, except for the harness not fitting a very tiny baby, its GREAT. the only thing is now i have 2 kids and i cant use it cause i need a double one

the perfect stroller

If you have a baby boy over the age of 6-7 months, this is a great stroller for him, not to expensive and very easy to manuver.

A big, bulky disappointment

I used to have a Graco Metrolite stroller, and I really liked it. However, I gave it to a relative because it went with an infant travel system. I bought a used Jeep Liberty Stroller, thinking it would be an upgrade, and boy was I wrong.

br /I will simply list the things I do not like:
br /1) It is quite bulky when folded, especially compared to other strollers I've had.
br /2) It is heavy, awkward to carry, and there's nowhere apparent to grab it. Handles? I don't see any.
br /3) All 3 tires went flat. My local bike shop charged about $30 to replace them all (your mileage may vary).
br /4) My daughter was not interested in the steering wheel and since the battery that the previous owner left in it had corroded, the sounds didn't work so I can't comment on those.
br /5) It CREAKS when you push it. I'm not sure where the sound is coming from but we oiled the wheels and it still creaks.
br /6) The MP3 player, which is the "cool factor" and the only reason my husband has prevented me from getting rid of the stroller, has these small speakers near the baby's head, so in order to really hear the music if you're playing music YOU like, you have to turn it up. And the volume doesn't go very high. For the same money, you could probably buy some portable powered speakers and clip them to the stroller.
